If you make a game, there's always going to be a group of people who don't have the aptitude / attention span required to beat it. Even Gone Home would be difficult for someone who isn't able/willing to pay enough attention to know where to go next.
Jim Sterling and people like him think that their aptitude level is the only correct one so every game needs to target that exact difficulty level. In their heads, people who like more of a challenge than them are wrong to want that, and people who would want even less of a challenge than they do... can get fucked I guess? I don't think people like Jim Stirling have even considered that side of it.
Point is, it's okay to not like challenging games but you're not entitled to have every single game you play to be at the exact difficulty level YOU want.
