Starts off fun. The inquisition base building is cool. Decent characters. Then the game falls off hard when you realize that you are forced to do MMO style quest grinds before you can even move on to the story related shit.

One of the most boring, monotonous, tiring rpg's I've ever had the displeasure of slogging through.
A friend actually stated that they would pay me if I were to actually complete it.

This I didn't even finish because of this but I thought it was fun

Anyway, awesome game, invest in the friendships, get to know Cassandra and Sera even if she seems oblivious at first. Combat is fucking amazing (At least as an Archer Tempest, only played Rogue, tried mage once but not my cup of cake) take your time, explore, bot not too much since the Hinterlands are fucking huge. Make sure not leave it as soon as you get the points to go the next quest. Play it at Nightmare mode and install some mods for level scale later on, else you'll be hit killing everything later in game, that's no fun. Consider installing a difficulty mod later on also if you like the chalenge. Anyway loved the game. Loved the lore, loved the revelations, can't wait for DA5. I just hope Bioware doesn't go under after the ME4 fiasco. Have fun OP.

This guy knows what's up. I like to do a little exploring myself since there's so much to be found. I enjoyed killing the dragons with bull. Even though my main party was Sera, Cassandra and Dorian. You can completely disregard Vivienne. I was RP'ing a decent guy trying to do the best he could to change the system from inside and help his kind (Elves), while maintaning a good façade the public. True Lawful Evil fella, damn I loved this game. Wish my PC as up and running. I miss my Vincent.

Single-player MMO. Expect grindy quests, repetitive but enjoyable content, and a serviceable but not outstanding story.

It's best designed story-wise to play an Elf, preferably Female, but any combination more or less works. Pick 3 companions and stick with them, you'll miss out on a ton of dialogue but be more connected to the ones you pick. Do everything, may as well get your money's worth and you already better like grinding if you got the game. Rogue is the most bullshit broken OP class. Final DLC ends the game and essentially kills your save (and warns you it will) so save it till you're for sure done.

Oh and 90+/-% of the war-table missions are just fluff. You can fail them by picking the wrong adviser to do them, but will only miss out on absolute garbage gear or money. Don't stress it and feel free to ignore entirely, only a very few and obvious operations (you'll get the operation right after talking to someone or reaching an area) will actually impact companions or get you more side-story.

I've tried on 4 separate occasions to play it and I always just feel bored and it just feels dull to me

Deserves absolutely no love. Getting to know her only elevates her from "Lol teh randum" territory to "Thinks 4channers can save the world" territory, she remains a complete ineffectual idiot the entire way through the game.

It operates on the MMO formula of catering only to people who enjoy grinding. If you get bored, it likely just isn't the genre for you. It isn't even a great game to begin with so that doesn't help.

Doesn't help they make the MMO style game play bare bones and somewhat a chore since the AI is retarded and you basically have to babysit your team without one of them doing something stupid. But it doesn't matter since the actual combat is basic as fuck

It was really insulting that they never actually utilized their combat properly. Occasionally you had to hop in and make sure to tell your party to stop standing in fire or get over to you and help, but generally you just hammered the buttons and wiggled the sticks till everyone fell over.

The Dragons were the only real bosses in the entire game, requiring actual positioning and constant micromanagement of your party while shitting out huge AOE attacks to further demand you actually keep an eye on who's doing what. Though they ruin that by the endgame too since you become so brokenly well-armed and armored that you end up facetanking straight through the toughest Dragons in the game without effort.

The most insulting thing was probably having mid-game Dragons be tougher than the goddamn Final Boss, who treats you as though you never even attempted to slay a single dragon the entire game and becomes a complete joke if you're wearing appropriate end-game gear.

seriously was not expecting Inquisition to be anything other than absolute dogshit. But the basebuilding and progression is fun and the combat is a nice medium between buttonmashy action shit and tactical KotOR style.

also playing a tank in this game is fun as fuck due to the way shields work

Sera was the one that was most worried about the Inquisitor. Cassandra too I guess but she was my LI. Sera was just a dear friend.
