So now that the dust has actually settled on this title, what do you guys think about Destiny 2?
Is it worth it for a fan of Destiny 1 post TTK?

just boot destiny 1 back up desu
It's shit
No it's not as good as the taken king and it's worse the vanilla destiny 1
Can you be more descriptive? I'm curious as to why.
they can't because they don't have real opinions, they just like posting
Got it on pc for that amazon deal for $39. Had enough people that enjoyed it where it should be fun as long as I don't have retarded expectations.
I just enjoy coop. Borderlands is boring as fuck and warframe is too fast with too many layers of rng for my taste.
so far I have been pretty addicted for weeks on this game, and thats coming from someone who hated and was bored with destiny 1. If I were you I would wait for the pc release, if you have a patato pc then get the console version
I'm getting the PC version, it ran like gold on my rig so I'm set.
I sort of feel like this too, but I'm a bit nicer to Warframe.
Either way, I can only find it for 49 on amazon, how did you get it so cheap?
bc it’s shit
No that was my real opinion I actually played the game I didn't like it
>tfw all your friends play consoles when when pc ver comes out gotta join destiny forums/discords to look for friendship
maybe destiny general in /vg/ will be a good place good to look
The first day it dropped you could talk to their support and get a stacking prime preorder bonus.
Pretty sure they nipped that in the bud though.
>Loot is more boring,
No weapons have cool perks other than a couple exotics, and even those are bad.
No RNG rolls on weapons means there aren't any "good rolls" it's like bungie ran their D1 loot randomizer once and took the first results. The best guns in the game are the ones that happen to have explosive rounds.
No armor perks at all.
>Specs are more boring.
No more choosing talents within specs, it's just Void Warlock build A vs Void warlock build B. some talents are so bad you are better off never learning them, but if you try them out you have no way to unlearn them other than deleting your character and starting them over.
>PvP is more boring
Time to kill got jacked way up, while melee damage, melee charge rate, grenade damage, grenade charge rate, and super charge rate all got majorly nerfed. (the fastest possible grenade recharge in D2 is something like 63 seconds where as in D1 it was 25 seconds. So crucible is just about groups of 4 with scout rifles roaming together firing on anything they see.
No fun pvp modes like rift or rumble, only clash supremacy and control even work. since the competitive playlist is a garbage mode that doesn't punish leavers while not replacing them with new players either.
D2 is a worse version of Y1D1.
I've been playing it a lot, it's a good game. Not a great one
the pve missions are good, theres a decent sized campaign and then post campaign story missions so there's that.
The real shortcoming is the pvp which was the best part of the first game and the worst part of this one. It's really bad, in fact it's not even fun. I do my mandatory 5-10 matches a week to get the weekly bonus and don't touch it
>nerfed grenades and melee so neither one can kill even when its a direct grenade shot or melee to the back of the head
>only 1 super per match instead of 3+
>bad level design with random invisible walls and kill zones in areas that you can easily jump on to because they dont want you to deviate from their intended level design and do anything unique or fun
I need to rant a little more about this. There's a rock right in the middle of one of the levels, it's not particularly high and easy to jump on, its right smack in the middle of the environment and would be a great spot to stand to do some sniping or whatever. If you jump on it you die because they don't want yo up there
NIGGA why did you put it there if you don't want me on it? so it's ok to jump OVER it but I can't stand on top of it?
random bullshit like that
>4v4
>no choice of game mode
they need to fix that shit.
I dropped it for Warframe. Far more content, way way way more classes and weapons, more to do, better community and it's free. Plus it's fast where Destiny 2 is slow.
>got all three classes on ps4 to 305 light level
>excited to do it all over again on pc
am I autistic?
Better campaign
Worse everything else
Seriously why even fucking bother with the post-game? Iron Banner is LITERALLY identical to regular PvP except you now have to speak to a different NPC to redeem your medallions
you don't want to be friends with those guys. They are austistic as FUCK and if you aren't up to snuff they will call you a shitter, doxx you, and blacklist you from playing with them
it is real opinions. people were hoping the game would be a step up from the first one when its not. it feels like a glorified expac to the first game.
I played Destiny 1 up until a few months before Destiny 2 came out and I'm still having fun. It's kinda painful without all the QoL improvements and I'm already pretty bored of every public event and strike, but I still enjoy running around and exploring Lost Sectors and shooting bullshit at bullshit.
is this from experience?
no you just like playing mmo games
At the moment, it's not worth it. It has no endgame, and pvp is boring as fuck because no RNG rolls which makes only a certain amount of weapons viable but all you really need is a mida multitool and uriel's gift.
Crucible is worse 4v4 is a mistake I don't want them to get rid of it I just want 6v6 as well
Fast is actually what I dislike the most about Warframe, hate running through levels top speed and bypassing most enemies. Even worse if you don't know the path through that room piece and you get turned around or lost which just pisses off all the other players.
Also good luck finding players for a lot of missions, most everyone is endgame anymore.
I post in there so I see it happening
I'm guessing if your not a try hard esport fag they'll fuck you up
Destiny 2 tried to fix some things but ended up breaking others. Alot of the D1 TTK era QoL changes are not present. People like to complain about static rolls and weapons but seriously fuck anyone who actually enjoyed Destiny 1's RNG on RNG on RNG on RNG weapon roll system. The new Token system is trash, Faction Engrams somehow have worse RNG than Destiny 1 weapon rolls. The Raid is easy as hell and again introduces a shitty new system to get Raid stuff.
PvP is probably the worst thing about the game though. Small as fuck maps, 4v4, grossly overpowered weapons like MIDA Multi-Tool and Uriel's Gift making 99% of all other weapons irrelevant. Worse Heavy Ammo system, spawn patterns so bad it makes Call of Duty look genius game-design, and the maps are generally all around terrible compared to the first game's.
Destiny 2 currently has no real end-game content as Light Level doesn't even matter anymore other than Nightfalls and Raids. Prestige Nightfalls and Raids literally give you nothing but bragging rights, Iron Banner is a fucking joke with the new RNG Token to Engram system. If you liked the first Destiny I'd wait until the first DLC comes out to see if these retards will fix anything.
This sums it up
they just obsess over k/d ratios and stuff
>deposit 10 engrams worth of iron banner tokens
for those of you keeping score at home it's 20 tokens per engram, and you get between 2-5 per match
that's 200 tokens so that was somewhere between 40-200 games to get that many tokens
>get 3 of the same helmet and a pair of boots
I actually kinda hate this game sometimes
Any AAA title in 2017 that can't run at 60 frames with current consoles isn't a game worth playing. There's zero excuses.
While that seems like valid criticism, is it, at the end of the day, still fun?
I can't really play Destiny 1 anymore since I sold my PS4 a while ago, and I wanted to play Destiny 2 since it's on PC. I don't mind if there's problems because even Destiny 1 has problems to this day, but is it still a fun enough romp?
It's already completely forgotten as it should be. Just more IP vomit to make quick money.
>implement token system
>completely remove the ability to buy the gear you actually want from vendors from the first game
Who the fuck at Bungie thought that this was a good idea? Each planet/activity such as the raid and Iron Banner has its own set of gear and weapons. So why the fuck can't we just buy that shit with tokens and leave RNG to the actually activity itself? What a fucking wasted opportunity. Fuck this game.
I would wait
shallow PvE, missing certain PvE modes, player character is weaker on about 4-5 levels and "loot shooter" actually means collect-a-thon instead
a worse iteration of PvP compared to their previous game and one of the worst PvPs currently out today
just about everyone who played Destiny 1 are shitting on the design of Destiny 2 and the choices of the devs (check every other "popular" gaming forum)
QoL changes and features that were implemented in their largest expansion for Destiny 1 is missing even though development started at around its release
maybe worth $60 next year when it's in a bundle and if they get their shit together
Was Trials of the Nine a mistake?
trials is actually a pinnacle of the art form, something that should be looked to as a case study for how incredible it is
they took the destiny 2 pvp, and managed to make it less fun. truly something to behold.
Endgame is horrible. They ditched every single improvement that they went for in D1 that would grant it a better longevity and just completely casualized the experience to make it a one and done
They need an overhaul again. The way D1 worked towards the end of its life was perfect with the exception of PvP balance and how it interfered with PvE
They also need to embrace the MMO-ish formula again. This shit of giving fixed rolls and rewarding you for doing jackshit is for the kind of retards that think cuphead is bad because it's hard and things like that. Nobody wants to keep playing because there's no carrot to chase after; no perfect rolls, no elusive weapon/shader/ship, no fun in PvP
At this point it's not even a matter of "I hope they fix it". I know they can do it because they've already done it, wasting their benefit of the doubt in the process. Now they expect consumers to keep paying in order to deliver something that they already proved KNOW how to do, and that's fucked up
>Is it worth it
Fuck no. Destiny 2 is a step backwards in most places
Thanks guys, even though I wouldn't normally buy it under these circumstances, my dad got it for me for my birthday so I'll enjoy it regardless, but I'll anxiously waiting improvements and maybe make a video about it or something
I thought borderlands was the most boring game solo but couch/lan co-op made it one of the most fun times I've had playing a game. But co-op can probably fix nearly any game. Never finished 2 though
>$60 for a fpsmmo-lite that doesn't even have enough content to last you a month
>You are going to AGAIN spend $110 over 2 years on DLC, half of which should have been in the base game.
All guns having the same perks, pvp being only 4v4, only 5 fucking dungeons and 1 raid on release.
what a fucking joke
