There's nothing like that. OP already dismissed VtM Bloodlines even though not all the chicks are 'mallgoths'. Venus and her club definitely aren't. If he wants something set in the 80s then he's probably shit out of luck.

Goth music is basically a fusion of new wave and dream pop with a darkly stylish visual presentation. He wants a game as moody, introspective, and off-kilter as that. I don't think he'll find one nor can I think of any that exist. It brings up an untapped market for video games.

This argument could drag on because there's a scene that would strongly disagree with that. There's the psychedelic rock inspired goth rock, and the pure post punk goth rock, and what you're describing is basically early darkwave. Genre elitists won't be satisfied.

and some others stuff to an in game aesthetic. But the real issue with creating conflict that fits the material. Since most goth music is about internal or emotional conflict you can't exactly make an arpg out of that.
