RE4 is a good action game, but as an RE game it's not that good, much like 5, 6, REv, VII and basically every game that came out after 0 that isn't REv2

yes, but 3rd person wasn't the only reason
-barely any puzzles
-no navigation (Re4 was basically going room to room with little to no backtracking or knowing the map)
-not worrying about inventory
-not worrying about ammo (enemies drop ammo)
-no ink ribbons, allowing you to save every 10 minutes and autosave after every chapter just reeks of casualization

I enjoyed seeing Rebecca in 3DCGI but jesus christ those acrobatics during combat sequences. It was like watching a cirque du soleil routine. And they already did the tired "washed up alcoholic who's tired of saving everyone" bit with Chris in Resident Evil 6, I don't know why they rehashed it with Leon in Vendetta. Overall it was enjoyable, but wew.
