Bought it in May, literally only played Zelda and Splatoon 2. So far its a port and indie shovelware machine so i feel like i've wasted money. Once more games come out maybe my position will change, but right now its a waste of money.

It's not fair to consider ports shovelware, user. Shovelware is absolute garbage. At least the ports are fun and playable. Only thing I'd consider even close to shovelware on there is Vroom in the Night Sky.

Literally 80% of the games on the store are indie trash or games already on another system or PC that i already own.

No reason to own this thing if you ever bought a Wii U right now. Mabey next year, but save your money for now.

They're not indie trash, though. They're indie ports, not shovelware. While I agree there's no reason to purchase this now unless you're dying to play the exclusives that are already released, calling the ports shovelware is a bit degrading.

Are all the ports appearing on the Switch getting content tailored to the Switch? No? Then it's shovelware.

The games that are currently out don't interest me or I've already played them on other platforms. Mario and Xenoblade 2 interest me, but I'm not buying it just for 2 games. I'll wait until more come out.

They are being altered to suit the new controls and handheld mode, and many are getting things such as single joy-con support for local multiplayer.

theres a shit ton of indie ports, but they're all portable ports. if that sort of thing matters to you the switch (and the vita before it) were wonderful. Seriously, as I get older my commute time to and from work has often become the only fucking time I have to myself anymore. the switch has been a pretty good fit for that time

That's fair enough, and is admittedly the reason I bought mine. I like being able to take my games anywhere, and being able to take all of these indies and exclusives with me was a fantastic notion that I appreciate every time I play the system.

I think it's great, the movement and mechanics are very well done and apart from the lenght it's a really good indie title in my opinion.

Just get a secondhand one off eBay, most of them are pristine(because eBay will always side with the buyer so if they only try to give you one with scratches and shit you can claim it wasn't advertised as such and get your money back) and lots of normies are selling theirs because they don't even know what games are coming out.

I own a Wii U. It's also part of the reason I have no interest in the Switch until it gets far more titles. Not a total waste of money, but close enough to that I see zero reason to get a Switch.

Nintendo doesn't really release new iterations of their consoles. They only do it for their handhelds, but the switch is marketed as a portable console.

I'm not saying there won't be a new iteration, but you shouldn't count on it.

I doubt there will be a Switch XL like that guy said, but I could see them making another Switch with either a better battery, or a larger default SD card.

My folks borrowed some money from me to help pay the mortgage without letting me know before hand, to the tune of about $400, which fucked me up because I had orders and obligations I couldn't cancel, and so I had to cut my Switch out of my budget. With any luck, I could get one for Christmas with enough elbow grease, but for now, I have a lot of books and gasoline and shit I need to really afford, else I might as well have just pissed away $10000 on my first semester of a 4-year AAAshit university.
My wife's not in FE Warriors yet anyways and Mario Odyssey doesn't look like I absolutely HAVE to play it immediately, so I'm fine waiting, playing Mahvel to pass the time.

It filled my console games in bed niche after my WiiU stopped getting games. So now I'm holding out for a hardware revision and a fuller library. Also a controller option that isn't shit tier.

I'm playing Gamecube games in bed, BOTW in bed, Hat in Time in bed, Sonic Mania in bed, Pyre in bed, Hob in bed, Killer is Dead in bed, etc. All with my PC's performance and library, shits the tops.

Also from a hardware design/feature standpoint the Switch feels like a massive step down from the WiiU.
