How do I into fighting games, Mortal Kombat in particular? Just bought MKXL on sale and have been stumbling through the story mode to try out some of the characters.
What are some good beginner characters?

don't play mortal kombat
>What are some good beginner characters?
Ninjutsu Scorpion...?
Why?
I played through the story, as it gives you a chance to try most of the roster. Then started playing online until I rage, and switch to challenge modes... rinse and repeat
Mk is all about memorizing long combos that juggle the enemies at the edge of the map so they literally can't fight back
I had a good start with wargod kotal kahn. F2 is an easy combo enable so is enhanced db1 i think
MK or NRS games in general don't worth getting into too much.
If you are a big fan of the series then sure, go ahead, but if you are just looking for a really satisfying competetive experience then seek elsewhere.
>How do I into fighting games, Mortal Kombat in particular?
avoid NRS games like the plague
Serious FG players don't play NRS games. NRS games are good for fucking around with friends and playing the singleplayer content. If you want a serious multiplayer experience you go literally anywhere else.
If you want single player content, NRS always delivers more than most people can handle
You want fun competitive play, get tekken
>Tekken
>Fun
From what I've seen, Injustice 2 looks like the most interesting FG and Tekken a boring jugglefest. Aside from maybe MvC3, which is an incomprehensible mess.
>Injustice 2
>interesting
Capeshit autist detected
You have shit taste my man. Keep not playing fighting games.
If you think Inj2 looks anywhere near as interesting and technical as games like Tekken or Street Fighter then I think you should continue to avoid FGs, you clearly know very little about them.
Injustice 2 fucking sucks.
>Locking important game changing moves like a fireball into a mod slot you can't use in ranked play
>lootboxes
>Character level stytem
>little recovery time so you get things like trident rush spam
>people who chip at you at full screen
Yes it looks good but the mechenics are ass
>this thread
lmao why do fg autists always act so elitist about their shit genre
Just play who you want, it's not tekken
>elitism
How does this thread look like elitism to anyone but the most butthurt of fanboys?
Idk man.
just play guilty gear dude
is bo rai cho a supposed to be a flattering version of a fat weeaboo neckbeard?
Happiness is a warm gun
Idk man
Isn't SonicFox unironically the best zoner in the world, even in other games?
You were given an explanation of why NRS games are bad for serious players. Then you proceed to say that some joke of an NRS game that no competitive players take seriously is the most interesting fighting game, with no explanation.
If you want to tard around in a meme game, don't ask for advice on how to take the game seriously. If you want to play seriously, you're playing the wrong game. If you can't understand this, it's not for you.
Its called zoning in every other game and if you can't find a way out of it, git gud
Bad matchup and a bad player. There's a reason you can change the character after a loss. It's not Tekken where you always pick Jack and win.
>an explanation
You mean these great explanations?
At least gave some reasons, though I disagree with how meaningful they are.
>autists actually defending zoning in Injustice 2
Someone's butthurt they couldn't beat a deadshot online
>What are some good beginner characters?
I'd recommend Kotal Kahn to learn basic juggling (forward square, back triangle, again, again but cancel the back triangle into down forward square air grab, if you enhance it you can forward square back triangle into air grab again)
Kotal is really easy to zone out though, so he's not going to be easy to play at mid+ level
all NRS games are the same, mortal kombat and injustice both have the same problems.
And it still seems more enjoyable than Tekken 7's retarded juggling.
at a basic bitch shitter level maybe, but there is not much depth to NRS games.
the best fighting games are anime games with passing mention to tekken and capcbros.
>basic bitch shitter level
Don't pretend anyone ITT is above that level.
how much was it?
$12 on PSN
Bitch then go play SFV, DOA, Blaze Blue or any other fighter there's more than 3 fighting games.
If you want to be a capeshit autist with bad taste, you're welcome to do that. Just don't pretend you're anything more than that.
I'm not pretending to be anything, maybe you should take your head out of your elitist ass and stop getting mad over opinions.
oh shit really? fuck i think im going to get it also thanks.
What country do you live in i dont see it
>people actually recommending tekken over NRS games
Don't listen to these shitters op. MKX is great but be ready to put some time into practice if you want to get good.
Tekken is literally harder than GGXrd and any BB. Accent core is harder than both probably.
being "harder" doesn't make it more competitive or entertaining
well no surprise here, NRS games are garbage
MK is very simple, you shouldn't have trouble figuring out how to be at least competent on your own.
Download the free version of DOA5, not even kidding. By far the easiest game to get into and highly underrated.
>the best player in the world doesn't need anything other than zoning to beat a shitty player who doesn't know how to deal with it
:O
A good place to start is watching pro level players who explain inputs, characters and fundamentals as they play.
Can also pick up good non flow chart strats. Id reccomend DSPGaming/Darksydephil on youtube.
Former pro fighting game player and probably one of the best overall gamers in the country
MKXL is the best in the series and a fun game in general. Just look up some tutorial videos that describe the basics, and then pick a character you like and just practice.
