When you play the sequel.
When you get to KOTOR 2
Wasn't this supposed to be their last good game?
If you don't like it after the tutorial planet (forget the name), you won't enjoy the rest.
Taris? I'm still there. But I don't enjoy any part of it.
It doesn't really. It's overrated because it's star wars and people were impressed with the twist when they played it as a kid.
Bioware's only good games are ME2 and DA: O. Everything else is shit. Play KOTOR 2 instead.
>obshitter baby thinks fucking ME2 is a good game
shocker
>Bioware's only good games are ME2 and DA: O.
This is the worst opinion I've read this week.
this
Meme company. Neverwinter Nights was the worst turd i ever played.
Prove me wrong. They're both 7/10 games that have some problems, but are enjoyable overall.
It's also nice that they don't rely on the childish good/evil morality system. The reputation system in DA:O is superior and Paragon/Renegade never became good/evil until ME3.
>ME2
>Good
PLEASE keep playing it OP
Taris is a bit slow, but it really picks up from there and you will LOVE what happens toward the end.
It doesn't just go play 2
why do you fags think 2 was better?
it was a rushed piece of shit that was nothing vs kotor 1
The twist is utter garbage:
>can be seen coming a mile away
>is only used to hide how poor the writing is
>adds little to the plot
A good twist isn't about shock value, it's about changing character and/or power dynamics to make the plot more interesting. A good twist is one that only adds to the plot if you know about it in advance. This isn't the case in KOTOR 1 because knowing the twist only makes it more obvious the that the plot us a rip off of the OT.
Why do you fags think that doing the most safe story possible is better than a game that tries something new, has a whole new take on Star Wars, and succeeds on that premise?
Are you an epic shitposter or just a brainlet?
once you get Bastila and can bully her
This game is shilled by Millennials because it's literally baby's first Star Wars RPG. It's complete trash.
When you are standing in front of the Jedi council for the first time. Fucked everyone over on the way there, already evil incarnate. You laugh in their face and all yet they still sense a good Jedi on you and you have no other choice then getting trained by them.
No, you're just trash, cucklord. :^)
>Millennials
There are literally 0 non-millennials on this board.
>Millennials
Chances are you are one user
It's an insult compared to 2's Jedi Council scenes, which are pure kino.
Wouldn't an 8 year old be a non-milennial? I guarantee there are 8 year old little shits that post here when their mothers should be monitoring their internet time.
Kotor 1 is TFA of old canon. It has nothing going on for it except for nostalgia goggles and Star Wars title. Without it nobody would remeber this shit.
>Story is riping off OT and Racing from TPM.
>Setting is as uninspired as TFA one.
>Every character is boring and bland except for HK-47 who is far more interesting in sequel. And most of his most memorable quotes are from Kotor 2 anyway.
>Twist is ridiculously predictable
>Darth Revan is just Anakin/Vader with worse design. And there is nothing more to him.
>Darth Malak is probably the worst villain that ever existed in Star Wars. He is neither scary, intimidating, interesting or anything. And looks like from capeshit. Even Kylo Ren is better.
>Writing is abysmal
>Only good planet is Korriban.
>Combat is trash and doesn't work in action based way like Jedi Knight series or tactical one like other party based crpg
>Half of skills are useless.
It's shit. Everything people like about kotor comes from sequel. even if they don't realize this. Only thing that makes Revan good and interesting comes from 2, that is possibily that he didn't fall to the dark side, but wanted to take over Republic and prepare it to face True Sith. That he thought that his rule will be lesser evil than what could happen without him.
Kotor 1 is sort of fun for romancing Bastilla, but sequel has better grills. And better companions. And interactions with them. And better fights. And better setting. And ridiculously better villains. And better story. And better protagonist. In fact it adds depth and make companions from 1 actually interesting like Canderous, HK-47 and T3-M4.
Kotor 2 is in every single way superior and actually stays true to core of Star Wars, while all Kotor 1 takes from SW are flashlights.
You were memed OP. This game sucks.
the beginning of the game
what? false
This.
That said I do love Revan's design and character, though the latter only because of KOTOR II.
The Rakatan stuff in I was also really good IMO, the best part desu, but of course it was overlooked and put to the side by the devs.
Nah, you guys and the OP are just underaged retarded children that shouldn't be posting on Sup Forums.
I liked the first game a lot more although the second was better gameplay wise. It improved the feel of the game and added much more to it.
>tfw there will never be a KOTOR 3
>tfw can't tell if that's a good thing or bad thing considering how gay bioware is now
Can already imagine the shit writing and the "secret gay jedi"
kotor 1 already has shit writing
I don't want a Kotor 3. Besides the obvious ways they would fuck it up I know they would also change the gameplay into action RPG combat. We have more than enough of that shit.
>MUH UNDERAGE
geez that projection, was KOTOR I baby's first RPG?
I guess it was just the immersion I suppose. There's not many games I've played like it. I enjoyed the shit out of the game to this day. Played each game about 6x each since I was a kid. The adventure aspect of both games were great. The NPCs felt great.
Not sure if I have a Nostalgia mask on or what but I played both a few summers ago when the update to kotor 2 went live and still enjoyed them.
Do you have any suggestions for good games user?
Kotor 2 is garbage
Every rpg is baby's first rpg cause they were a kid when they played it
After Taris.
Wow what an argument
>play the buggy and shitty sequel instead
ah, obsidian edgelords
Taris is a slowburn, I'd say the game really starts coming into it's own when you can start visiting the other planets. Personally I love Taris, just like I love Peragus in KOTOR 2, but both do drag on.
Kotor 1 is better in every way
>Kotor 2 is in every single way superior and actually stays true to core of Star Wars
That's just not true, user. In fact, Kotor 2 is the least starwarish game among star wars games.
Just after Taris. Although you should already like it on Taris.
Hence why it's actually good
>buggy
never experienced a single bug. Whereas I've had plenty of issues with KOTOR I.
>shitty
just like your opinion, Biodrone.
When you become a Jedi.
No. Kotor 1 lacks everything. Force isn't mysterious in Kotor 1 and there is complete lack of exploring it. It's just a tool, a weapon for you to use. It's treated worse than in prequels. In OT that wasn't the case. It was mysterious power, godlike even. Dangerous and beautiful at once. Everything what involved it was full of philosophy.
There is nothing like this in Kotor 1. It's just a tool.
Kotor 2 is full of questions about force, about it and sentient beings place in the world. About force users and philosphy. There are echoes and all that stuff from OT as well. If we would try to compare Kotor games to movies Kotor 2 would be OT, while Kotor 1 PT, but without cool setting and everything fun about them.
Not to mention that Kotor 2 also has a lot more humorous and funny moments and characters than Kotor 1.
Is there a more unlikeable side character than that ex-sith cat woman? As soon as I got her I abandoned her in the closet for the rest of the game because I knew every piece of dialogue from her would be "muh used to be the dark side, must control my emotions". Was I wrong in this assumption or is she really as bad as I assumed?
100% correct. Can't you kill her when you meet her?
>can't kill a dark lord of the sith because that's totally bad
>can kill a bit of a shitty husband
Explain this bastilafags
Kotor 2 adds nothing to the lore and is just boring overall
nothing in Kotor 2 comes close to korriban in kotor 1 also the fk The force isn't mysterious in Kotor 2, in the first hour you can use force lightning
I think you can, but I played light side (and killing is evil!) I realized that was a mistake pretty quickly. You get shittier dialogue options and arguably on average shittier companions, it's a real shame.
I loved it when it first came out, but by today's standards it probably feels pretty slow and boring.
Just go and play Mass Effect 1-3, It's basically the same thing without the Star Wars theme.
When you your attention span isn't equivalent to that of a 12 year old.
The people who hate this game either feel an irrational hate towards the Star Wars franchise or have never touched a DnD game in their life. The latter was kind of a requirement for a lot of RPGs from that era since their gameplay was largely based on DnD anyway.
>after Taris
admittedly the only decent planet from an RPG perspective is Tatooine. Kashyyyk has way too much back tracking and you can do so much work in the Wookiees vs Czerka plot then accidentally step into one map and have it all be for nothing
>The force isn't mysterious in Kotor 2
It's incredibly mysterious. It's presented as godlike power which enslaves and corrupts people. Turns light side users into apathetic fucks and dark side users into edgelords without purpouse. Everyone is conflicted about it. Jedi and Sith choose one side, most people hate them both and don't give a fuck, Kreia hate force itself. You have Korriban cave similar to Dagobah cave. You see how it affects everyone in bad way, you see how much Jedi philosophy is flawed and Sith one retarded. You talk with Kreia and others constantly about force and it's nature.
And you can use it for gameplay purposes as well
youtube.com
There is nothing like this in Kotor 1. It's just a tool to unleash force lighting.
>nothing in Kotor 2 comes close to korriban in kotor 1
Korriban is just as good for cave alone. Also Nar Shaddaa is better than any planet from Kotor 1.
> is just boring overall
It's far more interesting because you at least has actual threat pursuing you.
>adds nothing to the lore
What does it even mean. Destruction of Katarr and battle of Malachor V are quite significant
spbp
Since first fucking minute.
When you rape bastilla. Really though Kotor 1 is only good if you play Darkside.
ME2 is casualized, Hollywoodized shit and you forgot Baldur's Gate. Shit taste.
Bioware's only good game was MDK 2
Fight me
You sound underage. How's school going?
He is right. Kotor is better in every way than Kotor 2. It's just a shitty fan made mode from Obsidian. Same as always.
vomit on my cock
I saw your thread yesterday. I was the one who posted the spoiler first post.
It's not. It fails as rpg, as star wars game, and as game in general.
