Very mixed with many loud and vocal advocates for both sides. DaS 2 threads are low effort (you) bait these days. That said, have fun. It's a good game with issues but hopefully they don't cloud your overall experience.

I enjoyed it a lot. It was a bit of a disappointment as a sequel to dark souls 1 and demon's souls, but its still a very good game on its own.

Not part of Sup Forums hivemind which from what I seen hated it for the most part "muh spooky darkness was a lie, torches are useless!" My personal opinion is that it is a better game than the 1st one in terms of overall gameplay, everything doesn't feel slow as fuck if you don't want it to be. Dark Souls 1 while still look ok had regardless aged nevertheless if you were to look at it again after playing 2. While some people have legit complaints such as world connect in weird ways, changes to PvP (for the better imo) and to get pass a part you need to burn a metal looking windmill with a torch. Also lore went full retard but all of those complaints doesn't change the fact that at the end of the day the gameplay is just good. Only real harmful gameplay related complaint is that hitting enemies can feel weird somethings, while they are big suits of armor they lack the weight of such when attacking them. If you can get pass that though then it is just a grand time.

Just play AoE and AoM, Much better games and much more fun to play with friends.

The games aren't hard, You die fast and enemies die fast find a weapon type you like and pump points into it

Dark Souls (any of them) isn't hard, that is just a buzzword to make casuals feel better about themselves and actually give the game a chance beyond their first death. Dark Souls always been easy as hell as long you have common sense™ but sadly that isn't a skill a ton of gamers have. For reference darksydephil (a streamer known to be shit at games) had completed every game in the series learning nothing from the last. If you fail at the game you would be literally worst than a retard.

Dark Souls 2 is the worst Souls game, but it's still an 8/10.

Worth noting Dark Souls 2 was the point in the series that they went crazy with giant swords so you can be Guts if you want but still kept everything realistic-ish unlike Dark Souls 3 anti-gravity movesets.

I like it. Only ever played SotFS though.

Dark Souls bosses are geneuinely hard if you play without shield
