Seen some of it on twitch, is fairly meh really.

It wont flop at all, because Gothic fans will buy same game every time PB release it. Some will complain and return to beat first Gothic for the 200th time, others will enjoy it and call people disliking it shit.

Maybe not visible as much on Sup Forums but on some other sites, especially with large German/Polish userbase, more so. I still dont understand why those two nations love Gothic and PB so much. Germans more understandable, but Polish?

the fact is, the only good games PB made is gothic 1 and 2, and even those are pretty niche games since normies can't understand the controlls. The rest of their games are pure liquid unpolished turds. I'm Polish btw

Funny to call people "normies" because the dont want to touch one of worst and least logical controlls in video games history.

But why not? It's literally another games franchise releasing similar games for over 20 years. If i liked, played and bought the first game they've made why wouldn't i keep buying their products? Elex in the end will be more of the same i've been liking, and if it's at least semi-decent even better for me. Also these games offer a different setting than the NA western style. It's a more European feeling. I can't stand Bioware shit.

i managed to learn gothic 1 controlls in 2 minutes from starting the game up as a 15 yo boi and had no problem playing and finishing the game. Yes, they are a little archaic but it's not unplayable and definitely not impossible to learn. What the fuck is hard in experimenting with the keyboard for a minute to learn what each button does? Someone who instantly brands a game bad because they don't take their time with it is what i can rightfully call a normie.

Dunno what to do. The exploration in these games is always great fun and the worlds they make are pretty good. The stiff animations, clunky combat and horrible lipsynch really put me off though.

Whenever I heard explanation about controls from Gothic fan is nearly always "yes its fucked but I managed to learn it!". Congratulations, you basically wasted time on learning something illogical. Controls should be comfortable and not having negative impact on gameplay itself. If they are fucked up and you actually need to waste time on learning it instead of guessing, then something is clearly wrong.

Of course that racing game player could learn to accelerate with U, turn left with G and Right with L keys but enjoying it after wasting time to learn it, would be something closer to Stockholm Syndrome.

i'm not saying the controlls are good, i'm saying that an average personal computer video game player doesn't have the patience to learn a shitty combat system in a clunky and not-so pretty video game, thus the term normie
