So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch, but it's a dead system unless you're a weeb

So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch, but it's a dead system unless you're a weeb.

But the Switch may actually be a viable system one day, is priced better (considering the memory cards), has more general power and can hook up to a TV right out of the box.

But if you had to choose just one of them to be your handheldfu, which do you go with?

>Veeter is better than the switch
Huh? Worse screen, worse power, worse ergonomics unless you have tiny hands, small ass fuck screen that strains your eyes etc. Not to mention the backwards regional account system and memory cards

Only reason I would prefer vita is battery life and dpad

The one with a good library of good games. That is to say, neither

>the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch

lol ok

Switch isn't hacked yet so Vita

I love my Vita which I've bought in August. It was a great time to get a Vita because A LOT has happened in that time. We have SD2Vita now so fuck Sony and their expensive cards which ruined the system. A lot of other stuff happened in the Vita piracy scene. Now sadly you can not play any games above 3.60 which are starting to get a lot which is annoying. There is no way I will lose my hack / buy A SECOND Vita. So I am missing out on a lot of modern Vita games on a console that already doesn't have too many games. I love handheld gaming because 1) I spend a lot of time on trains/the bus 2) I sit around all day at work doing NOTHING and getting paid for it so I can play Vita. So here is the thing: The Vita didn't get any love. I think the Switch will get a lot of love and this means it will get a lot of games. Right now it isn't worth purchasing. I hope that it will get easily hacked like all other Nintendo systems in the past by the time there are actually games for it which means I as a customer will win. I will get a system with many games and that's all the money I will have to spend. The Switch will be established by then and I might have beaten every Vita game there is by then. Keep in mind: The PSP has amazing titles I still love to this very day and I also play those on my Vita. I never really played any Playstation 1 games so I will also check those out later. I still have plenty of games to play on my Vita. I am happy if only we could run ANY game on the Vita.

>Veeter is better than the Switch

I love my vita!

hey [v]eeter

Vita has tons of games. Switch doesn't look like getting a single one before 2020. It's very easy to make a choice.

>So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch
no

Vita has tons of games yet it failed. Switch seems to be doing fine with only ONE title. Please explain this because I don't get it myself.

The one or two Nintendo games are much better than the mountain of shit on the Vita, much of which can be played on the superior PS3 or PS4.

Vita doesn't have that many games that appeal to normalfags. Drones eat up everything Nintendo makes. It's very easy.

>Vita has tons of games

So what you're saying is you have to be special to like Vita games?

>So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch

LOL

>So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch
I guarantee you that no one but the most die hard vitards have ever said that.

Are people who enjoy JRPGs special? Are people who enjoy rhythm games special? Are people who enjoy dungeon crawlers special?

Its the difference between shovelware and legitimate games.
As it stands the Vita is just being pumped full of mediocre shovelware titles from no name Japanese developers.

So you're saying you have to be special to like Vita games?

I love my Veeter and have played it way more than my Switch since it was released but I know that its time is probably coming soon. I hope the new Playstation CEO will actually consider the possibility of Vita 2.

Switch has been pretty overrated so far desu. Zelda was basically Nintendo's MGSV a big giant open world game filled with lots of TECHNOLOGY but was ultimately shallow as fuck once you actually looked deeper. Splatoon 2 is still fun but it really is just an expansion pack of 1 desu. idk why I bough MK8 probably because I felt like I needed to buy something else for the Switch. I am getting Oddessy and that looks like it should be fun

...

too bad no games tho...

Every time I thought of getting a Vita, the memory card prices made me do a 360 and walk away

I like Vita games so it appears to be that way user

Only because Sup Forums are nintendo fanboys who scoured the internet to make people hate it and spread fud to prevent people from buying it. Thankfully PS4 buzz overpowered the same tactic used for WiiU

>So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch
News to me.

Yep, Sup Forums has the power to make or break consoles.

Bought Toukiden 2 for Vita. No real opinions as of yet but the first one had a better beginning. Can choose from another ~150 games for Vita.

For Switch, there is one actual game (Zelda) and a bunch of PC ports that don't run so well.

Switch
I already have the superior 3ds so that I want a vita?

Except post PS4 lmao

And also the general consensus is the the PS4 is better than N64.

But if you had to choose just one of them to be your consolefu, which do you go with?

So you're saying to go with the Vita because even though it's older, it has tons of better games?

N64 was the worst console of it's gen.

>not allowing vita to hook up to your tv straight up, instead we get fucking PSVITA TV
>not having cheaper memory cards
>not supporting it with more exclusives

wtf was sony thinking dudes

I'm so not a nintendo faggot but this couldn't be more wrong a statement.

>vita
weebshit
>switch
bing bing wahoo
I own both and the lack of Sony's support for the Vita hurt a pretty decent handheld. Hopefully Switch gets some of those niche weeb games that make the Vita great, but you know Nintendo won't pump and dump the Switch and will continue to get the first- and third-party support the Vita didn't.
>TL;DR
Vita still has a great library of niche games, but Switch will have better long-term support from it's parent company.
>still TL;DR
buy the system that has games you like

Both the Saturn and the PS1 libraries are far better than the n64s
n64 excels in like 2 genres and that's about it

play golf story. It's a Switch exclusive

N64 had less games than the PSX and even the fucking vita.

Most overrated console ever.

>B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but muh Zellda ünd muh Mario 64!!!!1!!

Why are you waiting for piracy to get a Switch? Why not buy games that you enjoy?

...

Don't worry. Pretty sure someday we'll be able to play 3.61+ games on Henkaku.

>But if you had to choose just one of them to be your handheldfu, which do you go with?

Right now? Vita.

But the Switch will probably surpass it library-wise, it's also much more powerful.

>has the luxury of earning money by doing a job where he can just sit on his ass and plays video games all day long
>still feels the need to have piracy on a system before even considering buying it

I don't like you very much.

CFWPSP.
It still hasn't been beaten for me.

I hope the Switch takes over but it might take awhile that eshop is proper shit.

>messages
>party chat
>video playback

How many people use these features?

Web browser I can see but I don't see people putting videos on their memory card (at least the normies who bought the Vita and don't know that the SD converter exists) or using party chat or messaging system on their Vitas, saving those experiences for their console.

Also, I'd argue that the UI to go from game to menu to other game is the same if not faster on Switch.

For now the Vita has a better library, but that's not really fair to the Switch since we're talking about a system that has been out for basically 6 years versus one that is barely 7 months old.

For how old the Switch is, the library is already pretty damn impressive and I actually feel like you can justify owning one.

It's okay. We don't have to be friends. You sound like a jealous NEET.

There aren't any games I would enjoy. I've liked BOTW but I've already played this on Cemu. Mario Kart 8 works great on Cemu too.
I was hyped for Mario Odyssey. I've played it and the hype was gone. The Switch is EXPENSIVE as fuck and so are the games. Nintendo never lowers their prices. I've there will be more games that justify it and the Switch will be cheaper I might consider it. So far I am happy with my Vita.

>CFWPSP
>when emulators that allow better framerate and higher resolution exist

See I would BUY Vita games as well if they would still sell ANY digital copies on this continent but all I get are stupid downloads. I might as well pirate the shit out of it. Fuck you, Sony. Fuck you for ruining this system. You already abandoned the Vita so why should I even pay for games on a system you want to be dead so desperately?

>So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch
wat

The Vita is better, but even as a weeb (and if you're not a weeb you'll hate your Switch anyway smartboy) it's totally dead

You can use MicroSD nowadays if you hack it.

> is priced better (considering the memory cards)
Its $300 dollars, no including the full priced games, way more expensive accessories and paid online, while having less features than the Vita out the door.

I dont think so.

The switch has no games.

>The Switch is EXPENSIVE as fuck
>$300 for 2 controllers, and a box that works as a portable and console system in one

Sounds like a deal to me.

I wouldn't compare it to the price that the competition has their consoles at now because at launch, Xbox One were $500 and $400 respectively and both also had 99% Gen 7 ports in their 1st years respectively.

At that, the controllers' batteries are decent (20 hour charges for each joycon) compared to the Xbox One's 12 or so hours and the PS4's 3-5.

Reminder that Switch games are still weeb. They sell much more in japan than the Vita game you're thinking off.

Advertising, brand power, and the Nintendo fanbase is like a cult, which is why the Wii U even sold at all; to those fat, ugly anti-social weirdos that advertise the Switch daily on this board.

>Touch screen
>touch backplate (can be customized into extra "soft" buttons)
>built in microphone for hands-free online chat
>built in b/g/n network compatibility and free online
>two cameras - AR support
>beautiful OLED screen for the highest color accuracy and zero ghosting
>very high pixel density so the image is always sharp
>all buttons are mechanical and clicky
>durable and comfortable twin sticks
>built in support for headsets
>video out so it can plug into a TV
>extremely fast streaming support so you can play ps4 games on it
>has a location sensor and can be used as a GPS

The switch needs to be hooked up to all kinds of nonsense to get voice chat to work and they're going to charge monthly to use online.

I hope so, bro but I kind of doubt it. I think it is too tricky and while it's possible there won't be too much interest. It took them 5 years to come up with Henkaku and I've read why hacking it now is a pain in the ass so we MIGHT get it in 2021 but I think by then everyone stopped caring and moved on to hacking the Switch or what not.

Bought a 3DS and a Vita expecting more fun but just felt sort of underwhelmed by them and when I bought a Switch and traveled across country I still used my PSP because it was too cumbersome to take my Switch.

Playing some Oddworld, Theme Hospital and some Castlevania just felt good.

Yeh yankee doodle we all already know that it is cheap in Burgerland. The PS4 is way more powerful and WAY cheaper. I would buy it for the price of the PS4.

I'd choose the system that has a future which isn't the vita.

Thing is, there's no guarantee that the switch won't suffer a worse fate. It has nothing and there's nothing on the horizon.

>>video out so it can plug into a TV

Only the 1000 model, right?

Yes, like the WiiU, the console that has BOTW!

>>has a location sensor and can be used as a GPS

What games support this? Can I run google maps on it or any navigation software? Enlighten me? I had no idea it supports GPS at all. Doesn't get advertised anywhere either so I want to know more about this, please.

Neither of them do, it's bullshit like most of the rest of his post.

It comes with built in map software that was originally used for something similar to Nintendo's Street Pass. You could look at the map and it shows you every Vita player around you, exactly where they were.

The theory was that you would tap on them and then communicate and play games together. Also you could give other people items for Vita games that they owned.

It's discontinued as of this year I believe but it was a nifty little gimmick. Too bad Sony did not give a damn about the Vita for whatever reasons.

>So the general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch
We get it, your mom bought you a Sony and not a Nintendo

Neither of them have any games, but at least I can emulate some old stuff with a great dpad on my Vita.

>dat Playstation Near music
youtube.com/watch?v=3AQha89MGHs

>-insn't a poorly glued together malfunctioning shit
I've had my Vita suffer from phantom stick inputs. It'll just push ever-so-slightly on the right stick (sometimes not-so-slightly).
I thought it was just the way I was using it, but my brother's suffers the same problem and he only uses his once or twice a month.

The only thing that can save the Vita is Ape Escape 4

Maybe they thought they could sell on name alone?

>but you know Nintendo won't pump and dump the Switch and will continue to get the first- and third-party support the Vita didn't
Just like with the WiiU?

Vita has almost 6 years worth of games out now compared to Switches 8 months worth of games. You can also hack Vita now if you get one on the right firmware. If you're going to spend money on buying a new console then I'd recommend getting a Switch over a Vita.
Remember if you do go for a Vita that it's upcoming releases even in Japan are drying up, and most the multiplats that used to be on it are either getting a PS4 and Switch version or just a PS4 version now. It's likely it won't even get support past 2018 in Japan outside of VNs either so what you see is what you get.
Personally, I'd suggest waiting about a year or two for the Switch hardware revision. Their revisions for anything portable are usually quite a bit better than what came before it, plus since you're waiting it'll have a much stronger library.

I get around 15 hours on my ps4 controller and it has been used since the release of the ps4. Usually controllers lose some their charge after a lot of charges. I use a one x for pc and it has good battery life too on top of being one of the best controllers to use. We get that youre a nintendo shill, but even most including nintendo bozos would agree joycons are ass. Oooh look they can come apart!! Top notch gimmick right there...

>Are people who enjoy JRPGs special? Are people who enjoy rhythm games special? Are people who enjoy dungeon crawlers special?
You forgot to mention that you have to like lolis
A lot of people like Dungeon Crawlers and Rhythm games, but not little anime girls, so those genres still don't offer much on the Vita for them

>The general consensus is that the Veeter is better than the Switch

Go to bed /Vitagen/, you're drunk.

>General consensus

Made me reply you wrong baiting cunt

>desu
You just proved that only weeaboo faggot s like the Vita.

Vita easily.
I enjoy my Switch but I just don't care too much about 90% of its library right now. I don't care for 1st party games (Sony included) so I'm waiting on the possible JRPGs to come. In the meantime I'll be playing my Vita still since I have enough titles to keep me busy for years.

>Touch screen
Switch has it
>Touch backplate
Explain the usefulness of this
True
>built in b/g/n network compatibility and free online
Switch has free online right now.
>two cameras - AR support
Wii U had this, and nobody really gave a fuck about this feature.
>beautiful OLED screen for the highest color accuracy and zero ghosting
OLED is a meme screen
>very high pixel density so the image is always sharp
Switch's pixel density is very high as well
>all buttons are mechanical and clicky
Same for Switch
>durable and comfortable twin sticks
Again, same goes for Switch
>built in support for headsets
Again, same for Switch
>video out so it can plug into a TV
Switch has the dock that comes with the system, so this really doesn't matter much. Especially when you consider how lightweight and small the dock is. You can take it anywhere with ease
>extremely fast streaming support so you can play ps4 games on it
Streaming games is always an awful experience, leading to shit like input lag. Plus, you're tethered to the system so you can't go very far.
>has a location sensor and can be used as a GPS
This is useless when you consider the fact that all phones in this day and age can be used as a GPS. This is a useless gimmick.

Switch. It's basically the system Vita wanted to be, but couldn't. It's also growing its weeb library so one day it will be the de facto weeb machine. It's just a matter of time.

The Vita.
I'll probably end up skipping the Switch.

Salty as fuck

>It's just a matter of time
It'll probably be similar to the 3DS instead of the Vita. Nintendo isn't a good place for 3rd party titles which was why the Vita ended up getting like, 1500 games despite being """dead""" 2nd year in.

The Vita is great if you like Japanese games but never caught on in the West because Sony gave up when it didn't immediately sell like hot cakes. The Switch on the other hand has all the well-known Nintendo properties and launching with a new Zelda means it would sell regardless of what Nintendo made.

Handhelds will always have a place, if only due to app store economics making it impossible to create anything of value on smartphones.

>Being this salty
Nintenbros, everyone.

>It'll probably be similar to the 3DS instead of the Vita

So it will have some of the best third party games this generation as well as a respectable amount of first party games. That's not bad at all. 3DS has around 1200 games, which is not bad by any metric. That's the same amount the 360 has, and that system has been out longer.

Lot of games use the back touch. Every remote play and emulator is the back touch
Switch online ain't free, deal with it
OLED based screen tech is the future You're the meme. It doesn't change the fact that this screen looks better than the Switch screen. Also doesn't scratch like shit
Vita has far, far better buttons and cross
The Dock is a gimmick for kids
Vita PS4 streaming works over the internet with minimum issues. It works better than PSNow.

$300 for a controller that can make do as two shitty controllers and an outdated tablet you can hook up to a tv

The real tragedy of the Vita is that Sony fucked it every way they could think of.

wew

The Japanese market a couple years ago was:
Wii U, 3DS, Vita, PS4, and maybe some PS3 stragglers
A year or two from now it'll be:
PS4, Switch

If those devs want a portable version of their game they're left with Nintendo or nothing. Games that didn't usually go onto Nintendo hardware are starting to come out for it now. Even if a game bombs in Japan the West has been making up for sales like in the case of Disgaea 5 switch that had over 100k preorders.
No Vita successor is going to hurt Sony much more than they expected.

>Lot of games use the back touch.
Name them
>Switch online ain't free, deal with it
It is free. I don't know how to make this any more clear to you. It's going to cost money, but at the moment it is free.
>OLED based screen tech is the future You're the meme. It doesn't change the fact that this screen looks better than the Switch screen. Also doesn't scratch like shit
It only scratch's like shit if you're a retarded child that drops it frequently. If you take care if your shit you wouldn't be having this issue. Stop dropping your fucking handhelds. And no, the dock does not cause a metric fuckton of scratching either, that's a meme. A few docks produced were a little shitty, and caused that. But if your dock is fine you shouldn't be experiencing this problem.
>The Dock is a gimmick for kids
Yeah, playing video games on a TV is a gimmick. I guess that means Vita being able to stream shit on a TV is too. Streaming video games is always a shitty experience by the way. No amount of shilling for this service is going to change that.

Here's the facts

The Switch is far and away a better system than the Vita.

The Vita has a larger library, yes.
But it's also been out for five years, and 75% of the games on the Vita are things you'd never really play anyway, unless you're hugely into weebshit and remakes.
There's basically two games on the Vita that I Would say definitely make the Vita's purchase worth it, and those are Persona 4 Golden, and Soul Sacrifice Delta. Maybe Gravity Rush. And that's it. The rest is up to personal preference.

Meanwhile, the Switch has at LEAST two games out right now that make the system worth it (Zelda and Mario + Rabbids), and it's only been out for eight months.
Not even the Vita had games worth playing at 8 months. I bought my Vita two years after it came out and I still feel like I only barely got my money's worth out of it.

The Vita has a better library now, but literally zero future.

The Switch has a few games worth buying right now, and a much, MUCH better, more promising future than the Vita ever had.
