Still kind of sad that all the other VA's have moved on while scout's VA is so attached to the character that he does voice work for fan projects free of charge.

I heard that they wanted to make a TF2 movie or tv series, but they had too much trouble with getting the old voice actors together, so they just ended up making the expiration date short which was only 15 minutes long and centered almost entirely around scout.

Game is just too old. Actors either sick or busy.

Pretty sure the problem with the show was that Valve was way too slow for the other network's deadlines. They would have locked in the VAs otherwise.

If they could get it really convincing, I say go for it, but anyone they can't get to match almost perfectly, don't try to force it. Only use someone if they are really a great match and leave the slot open otherwise.

If the new actors sound pretty much like the old ones, I don't mind, I prefer getting my dose of dumb shorts without reused screams/grunts/lines.

Or just let the game die already and move on.

The yelling part could have been cut altogether. It didn't contribute anything.

The first one, because it gives Valve an excuse to not do the second one and then just focus on lootboxes.

Everybody was back in last year's update except Medic who was obviously busy. The reason the TV series failed was because Valve didn't want to work to a TV production schedule. People seem to overreact to the voice actors not being present: for years people thought Medic's VA refused to do it, when it was simply that Valve didn't bother to contact him until Meet the Medic.

I guarantee that much of the time the reason certain VAs aren't present is because Valve just doesn't want to go through the hassle of scheduling.

I think the sound is spot on it's the tone that isn't right, they didn't demand enough out of his character and probably just did one take. He needs more emphasis, more feeling.

The solution to all the VAs being dead is to make Team Fortress 3 with all new characters. The Scout could be a recurring character, this time 20-30 years in the future and older. I'd be afraid they'd "Modernize" the game too far in the directions nobody wants, though.

>Grant Goodeve did not want to sign up for a whole series, so they cast Nolan North
>the whole TV series thing fell through and we got Expiration Date
>Grant Goodeve still available to do single sessions every once in a while as before

Robert Atkin Downes (Medic VA) went on that fucking VA strike, and Valve didn't budge to their demands (hire unions more) most of the VAs that valve uses are not union people, like Nathan (Scout VA)
