Hey v. Do you think you'll be playing vidya forever? How old are you now and when do you think you'll grow out of it?

Never

I fulfilled my life-long dream of building my own comp. I doubt I'll feel the need to upgrade it much, though. I think, on some level, I will always game, but if my career ever advances or I ever start a family, I'll likely find myself devoting less and less time to it.
No matter what, though, I will try to have a console in the living room, a few casual games on the comp, the occasional entry from a series that I enjoy. If my brother and my nephew are any indication, there's a lot of joy in watching your son grow and get into games. Of course, it's balanced with other healthy activities.
He looks comfy. I hope I'm as lucky
>Grandpa, why do you play games that require manual input. It's so lame.
>>Hey v.
New here, huh?
18, I think I'm almost over gaming, been a couple weeks since I've played
25. I'm having a bit of a gaming crisis lately. I just feel like at this point I'm just not letting go of it because I have no other hobbies of note, but I also don't enjoy it as I used to. I miss days that will never come back and it makes me angry. I guess I'll always be playing in some way, but it'll keep being less and less of a meaningful part of my life.
25 and never. I used to be depressed gaming all day when I was a neet but now I make bank every week and I am enjoying life. I love unwinding and playing games now more then ever.

Probably never. I'm fairly "successful," as a senior in college with a full-time job in my field lined up, but I seem incapable of sustaining any long-term relationships, even at the most basic level. I'll probably always used games to fill the void, even though I'm increasingly becoming disillusioned with games. Literally haven't played one I enjoy in at least five years now.
>18
> If i have kids
To me, most vidya feels like retarded, comforting toys. They are barely even games at all.
Yeah, I guess that I had never seen it that way, but it sounds true enough. It's pretty much just a pleasant Skinner Box I have taught myself to use for most of my life.
Probably, I'm 28 and actually enjoy Gaming a little more than I used too when I get to play.

Don't worry, We can direct you to a website that seems suitable to your liking

Never probably, unless some nation legalizes streamed gladiatorial death matches. If that happens, I'll be all about that.

Never, because it's my job
>this is basically my grandpa
>used to drive miles to the nearest university to fuck with proto-internet and later BBS
>played a shit ton of OG rainbow six online with his clan
>helped me build my first PC and got me into PC games
>tfw just figured out he has pancreatic cancer and is in the hospital
at what point do you think you owe it to anyone but yourself to be anything other than what you are
you have to be really delusional to think there is anything to life but self
I went through something very similar at around that age and I found it was the newer games. I didn't play any new games for a couple years and when ever I got the itch to play a game I played one of my favorites from an older generation. They were just as much fun as I remember them. I also started to branch out into board games more as a way to be social. I highly recommend that to anyone that feels video games have becomes too antisocial.
> If i have kids
Don't fall for the kids meme.
this
Everything monotonous will be gameified eventually, you'll be playing vidya for the rest of your life. Imagine a credit card tracking exp, leveling stats and giving you loot depending on what you buy. That's the future, just wait and see.
26. Why would I stop playing?
Go see your grandpa man. I sure miss mine. The only gaming he ever did was wii bowling and he kicked ass in it but he used to just enjoy watching me play different things as I grew up. He is also the person that introduced me to Godzilla and black and white movies in general.
God how comfy he looks. I mean must be a lot more fun to play vidya than watching the TV or reading
>25
>90k career
>Pension plan
>QT registered nurse girlfriend
>Own an apartment in vancouver
>Play video games everyday before and after work
Why would i ever stop OP?
>Do I fit in now guys?!
No.
>future
I grew out of it in my late teens. Hardly played any new games for almost 10 years. Then slowly started to play more again.
I'm not talking about current loyalty programs, but the next step
Well since i will probably kill myself soon i wont stop now. 26.
Can I have your games?
how can you live around chinks

I've lost interest in big AAA titles. Overwatch pisses me off nowadays. They'll never be another metal gear. They'll never be another good Final Fantasy title unless they run it back to the Tactics line. I like anime mech games, but the only one that counts is ZOE2. I do like a few rougelikes, like Dungeon of the Endless, and Civ if you count that. Retro game emulators are coming with me to the grave. Me and my bro are big into competitive pokemon, and have pokebank. Our kids (if we ever have any) will always be able to play that with us. Right now, I'm playing fire emblem awakening. I love it, because i didnt buy it on release so I missed they hype and get to enjoy it myself. I love Diablo and games like that.
Yeah, I'll probably be playing well into my 50's backlogs mostly.
As long as racing simulator exist, I'll keep playing them. Probably other genres too at the side.

No. Only an insecure "uhh I d-don't look like manchild now r-right guys??" faggot would stop playing games. Games are the new movies and you have to be as retarded to stop playing them if you enjoy them as someone who enjoys movies would stop watching movies for whatever idiotic reason. The only reason I'd stop playing games is if I got into a car accident and lost my hands or if a superior form of entertainment came out
Though it is worth to note that I'm starting to lose attraction to the majority of the games released nowadays and if this trend somehow continues I'll probably stop playing games not because I don't like games but because they're simply trash, but I highly doubt that the entire industry can get 100% corrupted
Nineteen
Never. Not sure why I would ever grow out of vidya anyway. Vidya's the best kind of entertainment media there is. There's a mountain of good games I haven't played, and there's still plenty more coming out. All I can see happening is my vidya time being cut down a bit when I get a job.
29. Probably never stop completely but I'm sure I'll have lapses here and there where I don't play much. Right now I play a night or two a week and then longer sessions on the weekend and I don't see any reason why that couldn't continue to happen down the road. Although my wife and I are expecting in the spring, so I'll probably only play sparingly when the baby is napping or gone to bed at that point. Have a good night, anons!
>32
ive been playing since I was like 3. Its too late to stop now.
35. I will never grow out of it, but I have been playing less games overall in the past 10 years compared to my youth. Just me being picky though.
Never. I'll be in a nursing home playing the same game over and over, forgetting each day what I did the last, experiencing my favorite game for the first time again every single day. I like to imagine heaven will be similar.
Considering video games are my only hobby, I don't know what the fuck I would do if I ever grew out of them.
25, and honestly no i dont think ill ever grow out of it. i dont think id be able to if i tried, video games have been almost the sole focus of my entire life until this point and i wouldnt have it any other way. i like them a lot and i always have. its like asking someone who loves to read if they think theyll ever stop reading. of course not.
32 years old here and other than Japanese waifu-collecting gacha mobile shit that's sprinkled throughout the day while I do something else with half my attention span, I only really play vidya for an hour or two at most everyday.
Although I didn't really start playing vidya until I was in my early 20s and between now and then I would be spending all night and all day on vidya.
I'm also stuck on last-gen consoles and a toaster laptop. I'm sure when I eventually buy a fucking whatever I'll rediscover the joy of gaming. Defnitely a PC but I'll be using it more for work than gaming. I'm thinking either a Switch or PS4 if not both eventually.
if he wasnt in the hospital, id say you two should build another pc or some other project that will remind you of him. im sorry user. i hope you have a stress free day.
>own
>apartment
wrong
whats the context? why is madz unshowered playing computer games?
>How old are you now and when do you think you'll grow out of it?
32
No, but I have to be more selective. I don't have the hours to play them like I used to. Pic related as an example. Bought it on launch, still haven't beaten it, but I have played it everyday since purchase. You can't have a normal life and play the vidya, you have to make cuts some where.
