I dont know, just saw a silent hill guide on Sup Forums the other day about running it on pc and I cant run it but had a major nostalgia trip so I went to buy a console and games but turns out a lot of the games I used to play are fucking expensive. Rule of rose is over $200, silent hill all of them is like $200+ xenosaga and fatal frame is the same. It would be thousands to buy them again.

yay or nay? been saving some cash from my food expenses.

>you can just emulate

My pc is kinda shit and I dont want to mess with filters fixes patches settings etc just to not get a perfectly emulated game anyway assuming my pc could handle it. I also prefer the experience of the ps2 booting and the sounds, the feel and look of the controller and my old crt tv displaying the games.

Idk, seems abit expensive (and personally I don't always trust ebay). Why don't you just buy the console for about 50 bucks or lower (they're dirt cheap now) and buy a memory card with FMCB on it? Hell I even went on amazon and found a nice HDD for about 25 or so bucks

Not op but how would one go about rigging an HDD to a ps2?

If you have a FAT ps2 you should see something on the back labeled expansion bay. Pull that out and put a HDD in there

I did look up a guide. I would need extra sets of software and an adapter for the old ass ide drives, the one from the ps2 and others are pricey alone. Honestly I am afraid of fucking it all up looking at tutorial videos on youtube. Pretty sure the sata cheaper better hard drives would need an aftermarket adapter of sorts.

I have considered it though.

Its really not that hard at all dude, and you could even go and use a USB flash drive to play your games off from, just that method will have the occasional stuttering.

But really though doing it all yourself is not that hard at all

Idk, at face value maybe expensive but if you look at 320gigs and divide by the average ps2 game size, you could have the seller fit maybe 100 games. And looking at the games you listed, I can assume your tastes and say it could actually be a good deal. Fits over a thousand dollars of games on it easy.

Idk about the emulators though. Does the ps2 run sega snes and old nes games well?

I will see how much to buy everything and consider it. If I am barely saving money then I will play it safe and just buy, but I will look more into doing it myself.

Celeron g3900 with GT730 emulates PS2 at double the resolution

I have an Ahtelon X2 5200 with on board graphics.

Is this good enough?

How do you even browse internets with that?

It just works. I can watch 720p videos on youtube also and in VLC.

If you are that poor I don't recommend wasting money on old console hardware which may creek at any moment and wipe away your "investment". Early ps2 are xbox360 level of faulty btw.

Guess I will keep saving for a better computer then or something

fuck me

user, stop being poor bruh what the fuck

Not everyone has lots of money user. School isnt cheap either. I am just glad I am not wasting time and money on a useless arts degree or something.

> $134.99
Fuck no, you say you're a poorfag and you want to blow that much on a 17 years old console?

No, it was the hard drive with any games I wanted to add to it that got me interested since the games I originally intended to buy are more expensive than the entire console to begin with.

And I have been saving. But yeah it still sucks to drop this much for me.

Well it seems to be a handy package but its still sound expensive, I don't really know whats the current value of that stuff or how hard it is to find tough
But I have two PS2, one modded, and I don't even set it up because or me its much comfier to emulate and play games on PC

Just emulate it.

Thank you
