Sup Forums invaded Wurm Online once, a long long time ago.
I logged out and cancelled my WoW subscription that night because I finally had fun playing a MMO with other people. Wurm is an incredibly shitty and tedious game but the first time I played it was magical.

2bh I just came back to playing it after ten years and I like the W10 version better. Sounds really cancery to say that I'm sure, but it just runs way smoother. Don't have a toaster, Minecraft just always felt choppy on Java even at 60 FPS.
I understand the mod support of the Java one, though. I never used mods anyway.

I fucking miss the old days where I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing, I just ended up building cobblestone castles for a couple hours at a time and using lava pillars to mark my house.

Only time I ever play anymore is the rare occasion me and a few friends play tekkit or something similair for like a week.

That hasn't changed though. There still isn't a purpose to playing. It's why I stopped playing years ago and why every time I try to again I get bored. It's digitized autism.

Java was shit. The Windows version is lacking in the mod department and requires W10, so I can understand how it's a turn off, but at least it runs a million times better.

Honestly when I found my first diamond I was fucking ecstatic. I had essentially beaten the game at that point. The novelty is gone now with all the other "Endgoals" like the wither or the dragon.

Those were simpler times

The lava survival servers were fun

Pretty much the same for me now. Getting diamond is end game for me. Still haven't beaten Minecraft to the Ender Dragon in legit a solo game, or without playing multiplayer with other people.

Once I reach the Nether, the grind becomes so real that I eventually drop the game until I feel like playing it months or a year later.

The adventure update was absolutely the turning point of minecraft's playstyle. I didn't notice it too much at the time though because I thought the new world spawns were cool.

I think after that point Minecraft started getting the huge influx autists and 8 year olds.

playing a vanilla server with this kind of map would actually make it fun for more than a few hours. Just thinly dispersed islands floating over a void sea. Mining is actually dangerous, no safe underground cities you can make, the need to build bridges to other floating chunks once yours is mined dry, one false step and you fall into the void, and so on.

Building stuff was fun and all but my favorite thing to do was to spelunk for ores and other materials. It was always my friends building the best stuff while I gathered materials for them.
