Not mine. I have things to do.
1/1. What did you think of Castlevania Symphony of the Night?
Metroidvanias are the single blank spot in my vidya experience desu.
I've literally never played one outside of like half of Metroid Prime (Not even sure if that counts honestly), I promised a friend I'd play Hollow Knight though so it's finally happening, if I take to them I'll have to play SOTN, Super Metroid, and whatever the third one in the trinity always posted on Sup Forums is.
Also why do you never post your own mosaic?
I see. SOTN is good for an experience but it does ultimately fall short in terms of challenge.
I never post my own mosaic because most people don't even bother to give it a rating. It seems to kill the threads. At least when I post the big picture where mine got featured as part of a meme, people respond to that more frequently.
3/9
I recommend Disgaea 1.
2/9
I recommend Quake.
When you start to develop a victim complex over 3x3 threads you might be taking them a bit too seriously.
I respect the fuck out of this because it's clearly your genuine tastes not affected by Sup Forums in really any way. But I'll admit I dont think I've heard of any of these games outside of FFT.
I want to put a game from your 3x3 into my backlog to play
You should try Typing of the Dead Overkill
Nice mosaic. If you like Final Fantasy Tactics, then I'd recommend Langrisser II, since it's also an SRPG.
I've posted ratings without the 3x3. People tell me to post it.
I've posted ratings with the 3x3. People tell me to get the fuck out.
I've posted this. People respond to say which they think is the best or ask which one most matches their own.
People say that all the 3x3s they see in these threads are the same shit. I post mine and they tell me to get the fuck out.
I don't see how this is a victim complex. We're on Sup Forums. This is what Sup Forums does.
nethack (.org) is totally free and is an actual roguelike. The term came to exist because of the game.
The last FPS I cared about is Descent. The genre generally doesn't do much for me.
Yeah I recall the Langrisser games being big back when ST was new, I never got into them and tried other things like ST and Black/Matrix and the like. I think I'd probably like them enough. Probably much more so than Utawareru or something.

I've been told by an user, possibly you, to play Metal Max Returns in a non 3x3 thread.
I have it downloaded I just have no idea whats a good SNES emulator these days.
>The last FPS I cared about is Descent.
>posts CE in 3x3
what
I've played dead space, but I didn't care for it. I finished it all the way through, but just thought it was ok and didn't bother for the sequels. I also somehow managed to overlook the entire upgrade system in the game and played on stock weapons with no options and this is why i was primary bored/thought it was lackluster. I probably would like the game more on a second play through but am too lazy to install origin to play it.

Fast Racing Neo on WiiU and Fast RMX on Switch
>Calls me autistic in response to my denying that I have a victim complex when someone accuses me of having one.
Like I said, this is what Sup Forums does.
Oh. 2/3. I don't know what 2, 4, or 9 is.
what was the one game you didn't like from
played it already, it's nothing special. Lacks the higher skill ceiling that wipeout, fzero, or XGIII provides.
tf2, its not my cup of tea sorry
Fair enough I stay pretty basic when I play those games so that didn't occur to me
Oh. Like I said, that's not mine. That's just what a 3X3 should be according to Metacritic, because, y'know, so many of you people seem to care about what Metacritic says.
way to out yourself as someone who doesn't play pc games d00d.
That's genuinely fucking hilarious that nobody's picked up on that after all this time
higan, or Snes9x should be good.
I mean it's still fun, but there is just no reason to keep improving yourself after 100%'ing everything.
If you are looking for something along those lines with better gameplay and a decently high skill ceiling, you should try redout. It's coming to switch soon and I've always figured it would be a good game to introduce newer players into the genre.
Yes! You did recommend me Pandemonium. I have it downloaded, just not a PS1 emulator yet
Right. Going to identify those games next time? Or no, you don't think us scum deserve to know what games you like.
To throw a recommendation out to everyone, you should all try Yo! Noid 2 if you like a 3D platformer
It's free, it's brief, and mechanically one of the best 3D platformers I've played in ages.
2 = Total Annihilation
4 = Company of Heroes
9 = Evil Genius
Thank you.
Further clarification, Total annihilation is one of the best rts games ever, C&C, and war/starcraft fags can't even defend their games when compared to when TA was released and how well it controls and plays better than its contenders.
Company of heroes is a fantastic lighter rts / (real time tactics)))) game that focuses less on realism but has some decent points and has decent game flow with assymetrical armies.
Evil Genius is a flawed base building indirect RTS game set in a 1960's universe where you are the titular evil genius building his base and trying to take over the world, flavored with austin powers humor.
2/2 Ape Escape 1-3, everyone has their personal favorite but all are great
2/2 Try Bangai-O. I feel like anything I would recommend to you you would have already played though.
All of the others thus far were 2/2 except for
and
I couldn't think of anything to recommend though.
3/3 recommending fire emblem
4/4 recommending tekken

would recommend phantasy star 4
Is that Threads of Fate on there?
TA is shit, the unit pathing is worse than dragoons and goliaths in broodwar. Furthermore, the way units leave scrap on the battlefield encourages shitty boring turtle play.
Yes
nah the pathing isn't that bad and oh, you don't like basebuilding? Isn't that what everyone fucking bitches about in those rts threads?
3/3 +Smash 4, Kirby Air Ride, Banjo-Kazooie
Recommend: A Hat in Time, maybe Space Station Silicon Valley but I didn't get far in that
4/4 +Ocarina of Time, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime
Recommend: Flinthook?
1/1 +Resident Evil 4
Recommend: Contra III or Hard Corps
3/3 +Sonic 3, Mega Man X2, A Link to the Past
Recommend: Rocket Knight Adventures
4/4 +Metroid Prime, Banjo-Kazooie, Demon's Crest, Paper Mario
Recommend: The games I recommended in the first reply.
3/3 +Mega Man 3, Hotline Miami, Mario Kart: Double Dash
Recommend: Darkwing Duck (NES)
I'm fucking dog shit at recommendations probably.
Is that actually a good game? I've heard about it randomly & just assumed it was a joke on if it was good or not.
It's a complete meme of a game and also a genuinely great little 3D platformer/nostalgiawank to the 5th generation.
There's a dab button, it's analog and you can do it while jumping, wall running, and using your yo-yo grappling hook.
Every time you collect a pizza in the world, Scott, President of Domino's Pizza saying "pizza" in various distorted ways plays as the collection sound.
But the level design is genuinely good and the platforming mechanics are tight as fuck. There's 3 full levels and they're all quite different from one another with exploration and unique mechanics. 1 opening level based on the SNES game. And a linear level leading up to the admittedly disappointing final boss.
On top of the profoundly empty hub world, The Noid Void.
I highly recommend downloading it, google Yo! Noid 2 and it'll be the first result
I have officially begun Metal Max
>Literal first thing that happens in the game is your dad disowning you
I can tell I'm gonna like this
Anybody interested in doing characters as well?
>think of an old game you like
>can't remember if you loved it or just liked it
>think of a new game you like
>worried that it doesn't count because you might just be in the honeymoon phase
Anyone else?
It's part of what makes the creation challenging, if you're trying to be genuine about it.
Yeah, also the decision on the ninth game coming down neck and neck between two games you'd love to have on there but not as much as everything else.
5/5
I'd recommend playing Distorted Travesty 3.
4/4
Play Ibara Kuro.
4/4
Try Sengoku Rance.
4/4
I should really check out Langrisser. Try Shikinami no Shiro.
3.5/4
Honestly not a fan of how slow Tactics feels. Try Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja.

Have you tried any of Supergiants stuff? Godly music, great aesthetic, great stories, really well done and inventive gameplay in the case of Transistor and Pyre. Bastions more a typical action game and simple compared to the other two but theres a fuckload of experimenting you can do with different combinations of weapons and abilities that's still incredibly satisfying though personally I think it's been overtaken by the other two on most metrics now.
Also the games all have risk/reward difficulty modifiers that you can apply to the combat. It's worth noting that if you don't touch any of that at all you are essentially playing the game on journalist mode. Also the New Game+'s for both Bastion and Transistor are actually fantastic and highly recommended. Transistor's has entirely new encounters. (I can't comment on Pyre's because I haven't done it yet)
They seem like style over substance artsy farsty indie games at a glance but the reality is that they're artsy farsty indie games with meat to them.
Also VVVVVV is incredible but god do I suck ass at it. I threw in the towel on the part where you have to escort that dude.
I bought Bastion a few years ago on sale but I haven't gotten to playing it yet. I haven't tried the other two either, but I've seen them being posted around and am definitely interested in the style and the gameplay. Thanks for the rec user, indie games with fun gameplay that are easy on the eyes are definitely up my alley.
Bastions probably still the best place to start so you can get a taste for Supergiant imo so that works out that you have it. Each subsequent game has gone further and further off the deep end (in a good way though).
2 things I'm gonna note for you now even though you'll have probably forgotten then by the time you get to Transistor and later Pyre if you do decide to play them.
1. Transistor's side challenges are laid out in a super wonky way compared to Bastions with a room popping randomly throughout the story taking you to a beach you can chill on and doors that lead to different types of challenges compared to Bastion having a map with the levels and side challenges all on it. Most people are compelled to do at least a bit of Bastion side content, most people largely ignore Transistors because of how weird it is. This leads most people into thinking Transistor is wildly shorter than Bastion when they're roughly the same length. I highly recommend doing the side challenges in Transistor though because they're well designed and do a great job demonstrating how insanely customization the games combat is.
2. Pyre is a much longer game than the other two and has a slower start, the difficulty WILL pick up, I promise, take advantage of the early matches to experiment with the gameplay and get accustomed to it, figure out strategies, etc.
Also be prepared for Pyre to be a wild departure from the other two, Transistor is still drastically different than Bastion but Pyre really shakes things up.
