People who ABSOLUTELY LOVE WITCHER have only played the third one.
That said if you play it op dont forget that there are two CDRP made DLCs most people dont know about.
And they are amazing.

I played it this year and I would say it holds up ok. the world is very immersive, and the characters are likable. Story is just ok though, it's more about the setting and doing cool witcher stuff.

It's biggest flaws are all the boring fetch quest where it feels like it's just padding the game by making you run across the maps multiple times to talk to npcs.
also the alchemy bits felt rewarding to use.

Pretty much this. The Witcher series in general is extremely polarizing people either love it absolutely hate it. It's kind of bizarre I have a similar experience with with Rush. People either love it or absolutely hate it.

It's better than the sequels.
The combat is like rock paper scissors with the styles, if one doesn't work try another.

Rush is okay. Pretty good music on a technical level, but shallow on a meaning level. Rush has nothing interesting to say.

Learn to love the swamp. It felt brutal at first but once I got the hang of it I really started to enjoy it.
Might be the best swamp level in videogames.
