You have to admit it was better than Blood Money.
You have to admit it was better than Blood Money
>6 main missions
>at least 3 of them are shit
>always online
>episodic
>enemies have eyes on backs of their heads
>weapons are boring and look like shit
>rating is reduced to timer + sa
>everyone is talking perfect english regardless of location
Blood Money had more charm more good levels, but the good levels in 2016 were considerably better than the best ones in BM, and 2016 had a LOT more replay value.
Come on, 3 of them are shit? I played only the first 3, sapienza+paris+marrakesh, I have 30+ hours on the first 2 maps, Marrakesh wasn't fun enough and I forgot about the game, but I don't think the last 2 out of 3 can be as bad.
After Marrakesh was the only map I didn't like. But after that was the best in the series by far.
HOKKAIDO
>always online
>enemies have eyes on backs of their heads
>rating is reduced to timer + sa
These are the only real issues of the ones you listed. Still they alone make it worse than BM.
Bangkok is shit because the only variability in this level comes from bullshit opportunity system.
Colorado is cancer incarnate, probably the worst level in the entire franchise.
Hokkaido is top tier. The comfiest level in the game.
I actually hate Sapienza and don't get why people like besides the visuals
There was a bug which caused a broken NPC randomly to spawn on the map which could spot you through walls and across the map, as far as every enemy having 360c vision I can't confirm.
I guess it reminded me of New Life in BM. It was also much more open than Paris, and I like big maps.
Nah but it's a close second for me. If they really take their time and refine the levels in the next season to hold the same quality as sapienza as well as add some features I think really need to be implemented it might just top it yet.
I liked colorado
Large and well designed around it's size, open, very accessible to various playstyles. Those are the main things I like about it anyway.
It wasn't. It was good though.
I bought it a week ago and it's been pretty decent so far. I'm wrapping up Colorado now (my goal on each level has been hit 20 and then move on) but there has been a noticeable downturn in quality post-Sapienza.
Marrakesh felt like the polar opposite of Sapienza in gameplay and design, and considering that Sapienza was a good level it could only really end up being shit.
No it's not quite as good, but it's still excellent.
>Large
3/4 of the map is useless unless you enjoy running back and forth.
>Open
Mansion is long series of corridors full of npcs and enforcers who can easily spot you.
Sapienza would be ten times better if it didn't have retarded virus objective.
As for "various playstyles", new rating system kind of forces you to go for SA, and most of time you kill your targets using accidents or poison, because those are the only options that don't ruin your rating, even though the fucking UI tells you that "body was found".
It doesn't have an overarching plot and it got no ending
Is there gonna be more levels coming out?
After Sapienza the map quality fell off. You can tell that the scope of the later maps probably got cut down so they could keep their outrageous "episodic" release schedule.
Sapienza was really fucking good. My favorite in the game so far. I haven’t gotten past Colorado yet
Hokkaido is one of the best levels in the series, so at least it ends on a strong note. But Marrakesh is in reality 3 tiny maps with almost no interconnectivity, and Colorado is just way too disguise oriented to be fun.
>It doesn't have an overarching plot and it got no ending
That guy from the ICA betrayed you and in the end you kill him. How is that not a plot with an ending?
What about the guy at the end who almost killed 47? I barely remember the story
Sapienza is great because there’s so much variety in scenery, so many little hidden stages throughout the level. Various different shops, churches, and offices throughout the city which contain tools you can use to get closer to your target, then you’re sneaking around a mobster mansion and learning some lore about your target. Then suddenly holy shit you’re in a fucking sci-fi cave with scientists everywhere and pretending to be one of them. It was a great ride
the episodic bullshit was more than enough top keep any reasonable person away from it so no.
This was my legit GOTY last year and I'm pissed it didn't sell enough because we'll probably never get season 2
RITORNA A ME
IM BEGING YU COM BACK TU MI
RITORNAAA A MEEE
PASTA BOLOGNESE PIZZA SPAGHETTI
That's why I bought the complete package a week ago for £17. You just gotta wait for the right time.
>come on you must be wrong!
>i didnt actually play all of them though
come on now this board is off the rails at this point
The episodic release was actually really fun. I'm not going to bother arguing with you, but it was seriously awesome looking forward to a new level every so often. My buddies and I would get together and pour over it every time a new one came out.
throwing rocks at each other is fun with friends
paying a fee per level for a single player game is even more stupid
>everyone talking in english
this was the most jarring hearing the same two dudes every level. What the fuck were they thinking
Then buy the full game idiot.
>pay twice the price of a regular FULL single player game you idiot
buyers remorse all over the place
I never said anything bad about Sapienza's visuals, fuck, I actually think it is the best looking level in the series. My problem is that gameplay on this level is fucking horrendous and does not live up to the expectations. They give you plenty of ways to kill both targets without ever getting into the mansion BUT you have to go there anyway because of the virus. Mansion is fucking huge, but there is actually nothing to do there, because both targets only traverse like 1/10 of it even if you bother to use opportunities. It seems like somewhere in the middle of designing this level they replaced the guy/team that was making it and made a bunch of retarded decisions that work in opposition to the original idea.
Sapienza is very similar to Bangkok, but for some reason people only like the former.
Fucking Yuri Lowenthal again and again and again in every goddamn video game. I can't stand him anymore.
I wasn't aware it cost $120
Yeah, but then again I don't find BM to be all that amazing. My favorite in the series is Silent Assassin. Also BM has this weird plasticky look to its objects and NPCs that always takes me out of the game. However, 2016 was bloody short, unless you fall for those procedurally generated variations from online functionality.
>There was a bug which caused a broken NPC randomly to spawn on the map
No there wasn't.
In Sapienza you have tons of different ways to get to all parts of the map and you can manipulate the targets to move around as well. In Bangkok you have exactly two ways to get to one of the targets and doing any sort of manipulation is a huge chore.
It didn't
What ranking would you put the hitman games at to each other?
On one hand I really like the hitman series. On the other hand I don't want ro support this episodic, selling me an unfinished game bullshit. Decisions decisions.
Doing any sort of manipulation is a chore on any level, because it is usually requires using opportunity system. It is not limited to Bangkok. In fact, Sapienza's opportunities are worse, because it is bigger and you have to wait longer.
>In Bangkok you have exactly two ways to get to one of the targets
How many ways to destroy the virus do you have in Sapienza?
I know it would be the opposite of the direction they're going so far, but I'd like some levels similar to the Hitman Contracts final level, where you begin cornered by cops. It was more linear yeah but escaping that SWAT team felt really rewarding. But I could see it fit in an interlud mission or someting like that.
Oh and that guy is totally another clone right ?
>have to connect to square enix servers just to access unlockables
AHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH ITS SHIT
It's arguable. If it gets a fully fledged second season, then it definitely will be.
Yes there was.
But I bought with bonus episodes for 20 bucks...
Also new STUFF coming in five days (and some shit no one cares about)
ioi.dk
BM > Contracts > Tm > 2 > 1 >>>> dogshit > Absolution
Paris and Hokkaido are some of the best maps in the series but Colorado was bottom tier with the jungle maps in Codename: 47
IO are working on it as we speak senpai. 24 october they're also announcing something big that's not season 2. Which is good because, as you said, it was my GOTY as well. Still can't believe the extent to which it defied my expectations. I mean seeing the demo I knew it would at least be better than Absolution, but the be better than even BM? Brilliant.
>you have to wait longer.
The telescope, bell and video move Silvio immediately. Setting off an explosion triggers a proper escape routine. Destroying the virus moves Francesca immediately.
>How many ways to destroy the virus do you have in Sapienza?
Shooting it, shooting the stalactite, using the computer, overheating it. And there are at least 5 entrances to the lab area.
Prove it.
Well you can walk to it or snipe it
Bullshit? It's the best business model there is for a game like this. Also you're not paying for anything unfinished, it's the polar opposite because you only pay for what you immediately play unless you are retarded and buy the season pass akin shit.
Google. At least 5 results on front page, one is a vid.
Google what exactly?
Getting spotted through walls still happens all the time, I'm not arguing that. But you said.
>bug which caused a broken NPC randomly to spawn
NPCs have never just spawned randomly.
Not sure you understand, and they probably fixed it long ago so this is pretty pointless but that's how the glitch used to happen, MOB npcs are loaded randomly from a pool and in the pool was one that was probably a debugging npc which could spot you without any limit as long as it was facing you.
There are also opportunities in Bangkok that move you targets "immediately", just like in Sapienza. And you still have to wait for them to get to where you want them.
>Shooting it, shooting the stalactite, using the computer, overheating it.
So basically like said
>you can walk to it or snipe it.
There is absolutely no reason not to shoot it, because every other way just takes more time.
By the way it was recently discovered that you can destroy in from the garage and save even more time, so there is no reason to go to the lab at all.
Colorado is kinda shitty, but Hokkaido is top tier and I personally loved Bangkok too.
Best Hitman game to date.
>MOB npcs are loaded randomly
No they're not.
>in the pool was one that was probably a debugging npc which could spot you without any limit
Mob NPCs aren't even able to spot you. They're literally just decoration.
>BM > Contracts > Tm > 2 > 1 >>>> dogshit > Absolution
Any specifics why Absolution is worse than dogshit?
Yeah now I know you're just baiting for (You)s
>Mob NPCs aren't even able to spot you
factually wrong, literally every NPC that has AI also has the ability to spot you if you're committing a crime
>There are also opportunities in Bangkok that move you targets "immediately"
Such as?
>you can destroy in from the garage
So what's the problem? It's not that recent either.
youtube.com
>literally every NPC that has AI also has the ability to spot you if you're committing a crime
Sure thing boss.
youtube.com
Terrific attempt.
Brilliant, really brilliant architecture.
Flawed due to it's online model and requirement to grind the missions to unlock gear. It became about hitting requirements to unlock things so you could experiment rather than being given a whole arsenal of things and being let loose to experiment. The achievements should have stayed but not been tied to equipment.
No weapon customization. It felt like there was supposed to be weapon customization given the odd blue paintjob of the agency weapons but it hasn't happened this season.
Still it's a pretty good effort at hitman and I would get season 2.
I don't know about blood money but it certainly is the only Hitman game I bothered to buy and it was one of the best game I have ever played. Sure the always online kind of sucks but I have yet to have a problem happen because of it. The levels are great, except for Colorado and Marrakesh but I appreciate the fact that they are trying something different.
I can't wait to see what they do with season 2 and for sure will buy it.
linear, checkpoints, can't go back passing certain areas, hand-holding mark & execute, bad story, bad setting, etc
>Shit music
>Shit/nonexistent atmosphere
>Agent 47 looks around 20
>Training missions which make no logical sense
>Entire vibe is off/grittiness has disappeared
The original Hitman series had a really surreal sort of vibe to the whole thing, almost sci-fi horror or something. This new crap is just fucking bland.
Can you finish this game going gunz blazing? I dont think I have the patience for it.
>events activate by proximity rather than happening 'naturally'
shit game
regret pirating
Online completely fucked it. Would have sold better without it.
remember those missions in vegas? or fetish club? nah those are gone. make way for boring factories, fashion show, hotel, another hotel/lab.
>sci-fi horror
You may be an actual moron.
>weapon customization
oh god no, don't give them any loot crate bullshit ideas
Besides it's hitman, you're not gonna have too much of a good time if you don't go in suit only, maybe with some syringes, and see how far you can get.
No, I like playing videoganes start to finish so I get the plot. I don't want to play a couple of levels then go back to the game after I forgot what heppened in the first part because it was months ago. These types of games are only worth playing when all the episodes are out and the series is complete, but by the theybare uaually over $60 and already a couple of years old at that point. Maybe I can find a sale.
you also forgot
>on the rails assassinations
>ugly visuals even on max
>season 2
story was literally in a style of beyond two souls. just scattered 47's memories, chronicles. it was shit
Holy fuck you're stupid.
>plot
>Hitman
Wrong game.
I played BM and still liked Absolution. I get why people dislike it and obviously they have a fair reason, but it was still a pretty fun stealth game, even if it wasn't a very good Hitman game.
also a literal barn mission. all SIX, lmao, missions are garbage. kill yourself.
Yeah a clone hitman killing people isn't sci-fi at all. Retard.
they were thinking "holy shit we need to find a way to cut our budget by like 20k right the fuck now"
Blood Money (although good) is glorified and overrated, so that's not surprising
I'm considering it, I don't want to live in a world where morons like you exist.
>>plot
>>Hitman
>Wrong game.
then why waste money on shitty, boring, long cutscenes? its obvious that devs wanted us to care. too bad its shit.
Well actually it's constantly unduly shat on in the Hitman forums. it's only glorified in casual youtube reddit/Sup Forums spheres
>Hitman forums.
jej. how do you know? go back to hitman forums.
It's like porn, nobody cares about the plot but people still expect it to be there.
>It's not that recent either.
Wallbangs have been patched more than a year ago.
>So what's the problem?
That you have not 5 but 2 options with limited variability
>Such as?
Move Morgan to his suite, move Morgan to basement, move Jordan to cake, move Jordan to the roof, evacuate Jordan suite. I'm sure there are more, but I don't remember all of them.
really was the perfect amount of plot for a vidya gaem
except porn is fun unlike shitman 2016
>I played BM and still liked Absolution. I get why people dislike it and obviously they have a fair reason, but it was still a pretty fun stealth game, even if it wasn't a very good Hitman game.
So the equivalency to it can be summed up as Dark Souls 2?
>That you have not 5 but 2 options with limited variability
I'm talking about the lab area, which has a bunch of entrances to it. The virus sucks, but at least it can be approached from different directions. Jordan's suite has only two entrances.
>Move Morgan to his suite, move Morgan to basement, move Jordan to cake, move Jordan to the roof, evacuate Jordan suite. I'm sure there are more, but I don't remember all of them.
Did you miss the word 'immediate'? All those take a long time to initiate, whereas opening the observatory takes one gunshot and can be done from a ton of different places.
because the AAA industry revolves around cutting in as many types of audiences as possible to maximize profits, this means you have to include as many flavors of game into your game if you're expecting it to sell any copies
this is why you have lvling and story and shit in a game where it doesn't really belong
Well, you got shit taste.
How doesn't story belong in a Hitman game?
It was never the focus, but it gave some nice context and overall structure between the missions. Creating a Hitman game without an overarching plot is unprecedented
>I'm talking about the lab area, which has a bunch of entrances to it. The virus sucks, but at least it can be approached from different directions.
There is a path to ruins which is useless unless you start in ruins
There is a door under the golf field, which is useless because door under the observatory is faster.
There is a door in the garage area with 3 guards.
There is a wall that you have to blow up from the beach.
There is door with the camera on the cliff.
So the only convenient way to get to the lab is from the observatory.
>Did you miss the word 'immediate'?
Well duh, you have to find the place from where to shoot that observatory thing. Not so immediate right?
Agent 47 always remains static, there is a story in Hitman games, but he is always the same.
Wait so why do you lose points if you kill people on Colorado?
>Don't kill those innocent terrorists agent 47
Not really. He's gone from a total blank slate to being interested in religion and living an everyday life working at a church and back again. There's some character development there.
>So the only convenient way to get to the lab is from the observatory.
You didn't even have an argument for some of the other entrances and when you did it was "I don't know how to use it properly".
>you have to find the place from where to shoot that observatory thing
Which is like half the map. And once shot, Silvio moves. Making Ken go to the basement means getting a note from a the second floor, placing it on the front desk and waiting for Ken to see it. If you can't see the difference in immediacy you are what I assumed, a massive fucking idiot.
>47 is a saint
Nigger, it's all business. 47 is at least as evil as them.
Its an assassination you goof. Its supposed to be done silently and without any trace of who it was by and for why.
Just dumptsering a whole paramilitary group would definitely bring more attention than just killing a handful of top leaders.
