How long until we start seeing ads in f2p or even paid video games?
Will using adblocks cause automatic bans?

Jesus christ, just how young are you?

op is retarded holy shit

and that screen right there would cause me to never revisit that site i have no problem turning off ad block but holy shit dont nag me about it

and if i turn it off and the first ad i see is something annoying im never coming back anyway

get ad standards or else

>How long?

how do you even manage to get ads like this?
is this a americuck thing?

This reminds me, I was just watching GTO and holy shit there's a lot of PS1 product placement.

This, adverts in games have been a thing for a long time, they just 'try' to make it subtle (sometimes)

the thumbnail makes the noggin of the niggin look naggered.

MapleStory had ads for as long as I can remember.

there's even more blantant cases in old 4 bit games too.

It's called using Adblock Plus instead of UBlock Origin. AdBlock has been neutered by corporations so they have half-ass ads like this viewable.

As long as it's part of the scenery and not a fucking video between cutscenes I'm fine with that.

that game used still images instead of 3d rendered hallways. for being a piece of scenery it takes up ALL THE EYE ATTENTION. it's an annoying attempted to add adverts.

what game is this?

damn, didnt realise it was this bad. holy fuck

I was using ublock origin though, and the site still shat out that anti-adblock nigger on my screen.

It'll start with western game dev's. I'm sure they are already working real hard on adding capcha's and hulu style ads every 30minutes with casuals defending it saying, "Who play's video games for longer than 30 minutes?".

Wow OP, you mighty be on to something here! It really activates those almonds.

>>How long?
Y... Are... you can't be serious... What're you, 17?

>cingular

oh god i remember this being one of the worst phone companies

Turn off that pesky adblock

>that friend who gives you shit for "stealing from companies" because you use adblock

...

>anonkun pwease turn off dat adblock, we make da money on dose.
Fuck off, I’m going to block all your ads.

Remember when everyone lost their shit at this?

I personally have always liked real life ads in video games somewhat.

First case I remember was Battlefield [some future year] which caught flak because it also installed spyware on your machine which sent data to EA about you, your PC, your games, what ads you looked at and how long you looked at them for.

Wasn't there a Penny Arcade comic about this? Back when they weren't awful?

>that time Democrats bought an ad in Burnour Paradise

This is why I don't believe people when they say political shilling isn't a thing in videogames.

I could imagine bliz selling ad slots to show while waiting as attacker or loading times in OW

>make WoW completely free
>but loading screens and queues have ads

Would Sup Forums play it?

user, no. That kind of talk isn't welcome here. We are of a different kind.

I enjoy it in stuff like racing games or sports games, they fit well in those.

I mean, here's the alternative. If you think this is better, you can go and fuck yourself.

Dumb as a brick.
WoWfags get more and more shit but they still pay. It won't ever go free.

It has microtransactions up the arse now but people still pay for bi-yearly expansions and monthly fees. If ads get added too then it will be on top of the payments.

>OP clearly talking about intrusive ads that interrupt your gameplay experience
>LOOK AT ALL THESE IN GAME MODELS THAT SAY BURGER KING WOOOOOOW

F2P games (at least on mobile) have always had ads. Runescape also showed ads if you didn't pay for a membership. Paid games have ads, but they're subtle enough that they almost blend into the game environment. They're still ads though, and they've been around for a while now.

Not wow but new cod or sum shit yeh

>How long until we start seeing ads in paid video games
How old are you?

But anytime ANYONE speaks positively about seeing brands in video games, someone shits the thread up with "shill" comments and the like. Unless there is a plot-related reason for there to be a fake brand, or unless they can do it well without it being like "haha see, it's like [popular brand] but they can't sue us haha" then there is literally no reason not to just call it something familiar.

Your kind needs to disappear.

see and then fuck off

...

?

Long enough ago that even fucking Penny Arcade made a joke about it.

>when

not only did you quote the wrong person, you sound like a stuttering retard

There's a difference between "boy, I sure do love this Mountain Dew brand soft beverage" and "HEY, CAB DRIVER. TAKE ME TO THE KFC."
If you hate both, you're part of the problem. Or did you just not see fucking JPPinney in the background of my image?
