>ITT: casual filters
ITT: casual filters
>not Seymour Flux
>not Yunalseca or Braska's Final Aeon (assuming you didn't grind beforehand)
A casual filter happens near the beginning of the game to FILTER out all the CASUALS
I see.
I don't remember this boss at all.
.
The first four or five bosses in Lost Odyssey are all major casual filters.
>implying anyone on this planet beat the knights in the flower garden first try
...
The boss fight in OP pic happens 30 hours in.
What? He happens about 7 hours in. I just beat him today
literally fuck this one
I remembered grinding out seymour's overdrive during the one fight he joins you with. It was the same animation as ultima i think
thread winner
nothing beats this
...
ez and predictable
literal definition of get fucking good
kys
I swear I died so many times on this fucking level.
...
Biggest difficulty jump I've encountered in JRPGs. Lost my save, and haven't beat him to this day.
>implying anyone on this planet beat the knights in the flower garden first try
I absolutely did. Bogimory was the last mandatory boss in the game I died to, and it's the 2nd boss.
Only other thing in the game that killed me is the final arena fight.

...
You fucked up OP.
This is the real one.

I thought people were memeing about this before I got to it, up to that point I had already grinded a few hours so I figured it'd be cake. Boy was I wrong, I tried probably 20 times and still couldn't get it with any comp I tried and had to go back out and grind even longer. It's okay cause I like grinding though
Easy as fuck, the casual filter that happens early is the twin headed dog.
Always get bolt before this mission, always. and never bother with the archer on the top of the tower, Delita and Algus will murder him on their own accord
either one of these two
the only casual filter in the game is Yunalesca.
I absolutely don't remember it, so it must have been easier.
Or most other bosses really
i don't think i ever actually did this
Nah that guy's easy. Evrae and Flux are the only real casual filters in the game.
The easy way is to be a Monk.
That's it.
But you have to know that before hand, and it's possible to make a bad save right before the fight.

My nigga. Played this shit in 1990 when I was 3. Owned this game. Been playing it recently in FCEUX and the NTSC filter is wrecking havoc on my new monitor. If I use NTSC, when I'm done playing the game, there are these horrible patterns all over my screen visible in gray and colored gradients. Looks fucking terrible. Only happens when Overdrive is enabled.
>grind up a little during each travelling section
>every boss becomes easy mode
i like this game but my second playthrough made me realize how stupid jrpg combat as a concept is
Hino Enma and Onryoki gave me more shit than Nue ever would
...
I used Power break on him to make him weak. Then spammed tailwind to make the next part of the fight a cakewalk. I highly recommend HP Critical restore from the Monk set too.
...
Ramza actually was a fully leveled monk, but if my pummel missed, or RNG'd to not doing enough damage the fight was basically over right there and I had to sit through that cutscene again. His normal melee took about 3 hits to get dickface to phase transition, meanwhile dickface's attacks usually did more than half ramza's hp in a single hit and chakra only healed for about 3/4 the damage of one of his attacks. I ended up grinding a ton and went in after that with ramza as a ninja and another ninja and a fully leveled arithmetician for the next phase

The Sandworm boss in Lost Odyssey
For you fucks that don't understand real casual filters, Lost Odyssey has a skill system where certain party members can learn abilities permanently wearing equipment for X number of battles, then equip those abilities as passives.
Right before the sandworm, you find an item that makes the wearer immune to Paralysis. At that point you have 2 Immortals than can learn abilities and 1 regular party member.
If you don't go out of your way to equip that item on both immortals, grind them a bit so they learn the skill, and then equip it to your Mortal before the fight, both your DPS will be Paralysed and killed by adds while your backrow Mage will get toasted by the Sandworm's multi-turn charge laser after the front row defense breaks.
Its fucking brutal, but after that point you'll be consciously learning every item skill on every immortal, which makes almost every character a highly customizable mage/DPS and makes the otherwise retardedly bullshit enemies perfectly manageable.

GORGEOUS! MEGATON PRESS! HUOH-HO!
Came here to post this horrible cockmuncher.
By far the hardest boss during my whole playthrough, but perhaps that's because it taught me how to properly play the game by force and prepared me for the rest of it.
Terio Punch :^)
...
...
i spent so fucking long looking for it. it was so close to the entrance the whole time.
None of the bosses in any of the Mario and Luigi games can be considered "hard"
...
Test of Strength
No joke i thought this was one of the easiest bosses in the game.
...
Even when I go back and replay the game I sometimes forget where it is and spend an hour searching the whole place. It does a really great job of teaching you important items aren't just sitting in fancy glowing chests at least, but holy fuck.
...
i love the fact that this map has very little information on it, and yet, i immediately knew what battle it was. what a fucking rush it was to clear one side of the tank of its turrets and be able to climb up a ladder onto the top where the batteries are. my lancers were mvp's that day.
...
tutorial is harder than the actual game.
>OP is so bad at the game he thought this boss was hard.
...
>attempting this with my pirated copy
It filtered me
The game is barely even 30 hours long if you just go along the main story
You haven't played Paper Jam.
...
same mate, I spent a good 2 hours and managed to get just past 'sound' before I gave up and looked up the ending. Fucking RNG
I have. It's not a hard game user.
...
I hope they do more casual content at this difficulty. Even late game dungeons are too much of a joke.
Pic related
it even subtly influences you to not spend all that long inspecting every single shelf because they're all full of just metal junk that all weighs 30 lbs
>Any boss in FFX
>casual filter
LOL
Big Bro Massif in Dream Team was the ultimate casual filter
This boss was pretty hard desu. I remember grinding out the -ra spells on lulu to have an easier time.
once you learn the "tactic" it becomes slash, wait, repeat
No need to lie on the internet user.
He's not particularly hard
One of those that's impossible as a kid, but a letdown as an adult
>clear the Batomys with no problems
>half my guys are positioned so Selvaria spawns behind them and wipes them immediately
...
...
...
...
What reason would I be lying?
Gaboos are not that bad...low skill means no hits for him....and the fact that Oakleyman is in E class too...means at least 50 skill? 53 at best.
...
That reminds me of the Battle of south Moundtop from Saga Frontier 2
Lil Hunter is the pleb filter
...
But if Oakleyman got lucky though... the devastation that followed (right before the reset button).
