Talk to me about this game. Does it have high/low mixups? Armor moves? Unblockables or untechables? I'm looking for a character focused on zoning or footsies like Guile.

Yes there are high/low mix ups
Untechables are very few and super set up related
Unblockables are usually able to be avoided

Game is easy to learn but I would say there aren't any characters similar to Guile.

I like Lei Fangs but outside of the color scheme it doesn't strike as terribly halloweenish

The hold system which counters all highs, mid punches, mid kicks, low kicks, low punches.

You can attempt to poke people to death but the hold system really stops you from doing that.

No charge characters but there are a few defensive characters like Ayane who stay away and play the range game.

There are grapplers. Maybe Bass or Tina. Nyotengu has really easy juggles. Alpha-152 has a throw that does %50.

Combos in the game don't really work like other fighting games though. It's not really a hitconfirm game because hitstun is incredibly long but you can hold while in most hitstun states, which can counter an attack if you guess right. So it's about mixing it up and not being predictable while playing into the rock-paper-scissors of the game, actual combos only happen after you launch somebody and they're mostly simple.

Well most people spam mid holds.

Holds are one button plus universal directional inputs, your character goes into a state where they'll automatically counter high/low/mid punch/mid kick attacks if the corresponding attack connects during a pretty generous active window.

The animation being really long makes it easy to counter someone spamming holds though, just bait them out and throw them, they deal extra damage that way.

Is the DLC model for this game acceptable as is? Would it be better to have interchangeable parts that players could apply as they choose (they buy packs of parts)? What about modifiers for existing characters like bimbo, thick, flat, etc built right into the game?
