Finished Dragon's Dogma

What do I play next? Is The Witcher 3 a similar kind of game?

Not at all, TW3 is a story based game and combat takes the backseat but can still be somewhat satisfying.

DDO, obviously.

I've been playing Witcher 3 for the past month and its not like Dragons Dogma at all. Its more like an open world Rockstar game. Honestly, the first area is really nicely designed, but everything else is too fucking big and bloated.

And when you say "finished Dragons Dogma", what do you mean? You've done all the content? Ur-Daimon? Everfall?

That didn't get a western release, did it?

Did you really finish it though? Break the cycle and defeat Daimon twice?

Nope. There's really nothing that scratches the DD itch other than DD. You could try Online like the other user said, I believe it's quite easy to set up

So what?

How am I supposed to play an online RPG in moonspeak?

How indeed.

Nah, Witcher 3 is quite different. Much better writing, story and quests than DD, but utterly abysmal combat.

not OP but how the fuck do I beat Awakened Daimon? I'm level 80 using level 85 Ranger pawns whereas my main pawn is a Warrior with 1.8k strength and good gear, all enhanced to hell and back

I can't carry that many potions, periapts and buff pots to make it to him, and if I tried fighting all the stuff on the way to him I'll just end up using all of it, why the fuck are there ~5 living armors, 3 eliminators and a dragon in the forgotten city?
some serious bullshit, I just want to fight him
what's the answer here? I managed to beat his first form but the dragon form ate me and killed me in 3 seconds

can't see shit

>lvl80
there's your problem

Devil May Cry 3 if you haven't yet, if you had then play the souls games and Nioh
Retards will tell you to play shit like Skyrim and Dragon Age but don't listen to them those games are shit and don't have at least a quarter of DD's greatness

Blast arrows

Well I made the webms for gameplay not for reading shit.

meant for

Well all the shit in the Forgotten City you can skip, just sprint to the door. Theres even a Riftstone at the front incase one of your pawns die. Goes for everything in between too, just run to the end of the areas to get to him, thats how people farm BBI gear.

As for Daimon, I think hes weaker to magick damage, so Rager might struggle with physical. Best bet is to stunlock him, its kinda a shitty DPS fight. My magic archer and sorcerer could kill him before he finishes his speech, I think Vanilla game phys dmg was OP and in BBI they decided to make everything immune to it.

I really don't like the Souls games

That enchant looks cool or is it a special weapon? Can floating numbers be turned off?

yeah it is a problem, what the fuck level am I suppose to be? I've killed Grigori, I've finished the Seneschal cycle, beat the dragon a 2nd time and went through BBI up to this point
how many times do I need to complete the game to be the right level? am I expected to grind until level 200? if so that's 100% retarded and poor game design

Is this the Devil May Cry of RPGs?

Is the Ur Dragon even worth fighting? It sounds like a massive pain in the ass and not fun at all, and if its endgame shit I don't really feel the need to do it.

That's just spirit lancer, numbers can be turned off but it makes it harder to see what's most effective since there's no multi-health bars in Online, so you rarely chunk boss health bars since it's just the one bar.

Blast Arrows, Conquerers Periapt, Vehemence, Clout, Autonomy, Liquid Vim, Wakestones. You don't need to fight every enemy. If you are still having trouble lower the difficulty or rancid bait meat some quick levels.

Just keep an eye on ur dragon threads on reddit or capcom forums and go smack him when he's low health and enters the grace period. It's easy

I'm a Mystic Knight, maxed out vocations in Sorcerer and MA and some augments from Warrior, running with Abbysal Anguish, Holy Enchant and Ice Enchant, then Great Cannon and I forgot the rest since I stopped playing

my tactic is jump on his back, climb to his head and whale on him, it works for the most part once I've spent 30 seconds in the menu buffing like a retard but my pawns still occasionally get wiped by the vortex
the whole fight just feels cheap and poor, and I'm not grinding or maxing out ranger just to blast arrow cheese him

Throw Blasts.

What happens if a few traces of vinegar get in my coffee? Is this harmful?

Just kill it offline. The gimmick is pretty pointless imo desu

I'll try that and switching back to MA, any idea what pawns I should hire in terms of vocations? I'm thinking a Sorcerer might help

No clue I play solo. Don't think it really matters besides having a mage to heal and maybe a warrior with battlecry and stamina hammer.

>using a Mage to heal when you can just fill up your 3 pawns with 5 million Flasks of Spring Water

It has unique online loot senpai lam, though if you don't care about the abyssal set and some holy weapons it doesn't matter too much. Its only the 3rd best gear in the game anyway.

>>Getting hit at all.

Mage healing is pretty shit passed early/mid game

Gothic/risen/elex

I just beat the game. Should I play New game plus or start a new game in hardcore mode?

>Dragon's Dogma is heavily combat focused
>recommending which PB games all have atrocious combat
hmm

No reason you should've not started on Hard in the first place, it doesn't change much after you get going. New Game+ also doesn't change anything, it just resets the game world but lets you keep your character and stuff.

Hard mode is arguably easier past the early game because of how much money you get.

If he finds a pawn with grand anodyne it could be worth it. Hes also not min maxing so doubt hes cracked 3k health so its a nice safe option.

PB combat makes sense after a while playing it

It never rises above mediocre even at its' absolute peak moments

>play on hard mode
>become a millionaire before even reaching gran soren

>comparing Dragon's Dogma to the game of the decade that is Witcher 3

DD is good but c'mon guys

I enjoyed DD more due to the better combat.

>he doesn't speak japanese

banana's are shit

>wasting time learning a meme language only a people on the brink of extinction speak

>Ur-Daimon
Is this an actual thing or did the poster mix up the Ur-Dragon?

Why do you fags keep praising the combat, it's literally just spamming your most OP move 200 times in a row while playing safe.

I brought this on ps4 a while ago and have barely played it. For some reason couldn't play it past the first ten minutes as I just put it down.
I love rpg's, should I give it another try?

There is nothing similar.
Welcome to the club.

>DD2
>final boss is Daimon riding the Ur Dragon

Is Monster Hunter at least close?

Kind of.

Monster Hunter World is on the same engine as Dragon's Dogma/Dragon's Dogma Online (the midair flailing animation looks almost identical) so the feel of the combat in World should be very similar.

not user, but no

Dragon's Dogma is pretty unique and 2 is probably never coming regardless of it's success

Not really.
DD is more arcade and fast. Monster Hunter is more sluggish and there's this war of attrition with the monster.
You don't "hunt" a monster. You fight it as any fight in a simple rpg. It's just that the combat skills, animations and the party interaction are fun as fuck to execute.

I never finished the Witcher 3, I thought it got incredibly boring, and i'm a strategy and CRPG fan
The open world was also complete dogshit, it was so fucking dull

how can I make pic related and which class

There's no shakram for you to use unfortunately.
Warrior is the most barbaric type but it also specializes in two handed weapons.
So i guess Assassins:
- Can use bows and swords and shields if necessary
- Double jump around doing flips

It took me 1 or 2 hours till it clicked.

so there any other game with a character creator this glorious?

>Double jump around doing flips
Strider for sure, skullsplitter besides being the most OP skill in the game turns you into a spinning razor blade
even lets you avoid fall damage, use it as you fall off a ledge DO NOT jump just walk off

Monster Hunter

I'll give it another try.
Any tips or hints for early game? Should I watch some youtube vids?

Absolutely not. The Witcher 3 has stiff and terrible gameplay, especially compared to Dragon's Dogma.
I'd rather recommend
>Dark Messiah
>Rune: Classic
>Severance: Blade of Darkness
>Eldritch
>Lugaru
>Mini Ninjas
>Soulsborne

>Soulsborne
Kys Soulshitter

Vanilla? Not really.

just try not to give up till you reach gran soren
you don't have to do any of the side quests

pretty much everything before arriving at gran soren is a tutorial
one sidequest worth doing is jewtits return to casardis after reaching the encampment and a merchant lady will ask you to escort her to the encampment, after you get outside town just grapple her and walk to the encampment setting her down whenever you stamina is low
after you get there and she thanks you she will be a shop in the encampment, sell any garbage you have looted/not equipped and buy "Baleful Nails" these give you +10 MAG/PHYS attack which is frankly huge since the damage calculation is static with no percentages enemy has 10 def you have 15 attack you do 5 damage buy 2 baleful nails if you can
pro tip: don't sell 1x of each rusted weapon they can be upgraded later to be good

Just play until you reach Gran Soren at least. Then you get the freedom to go where you want.

If it still doesn't click well..

I only got it because of what I've heard about the character creator. I made boy that's actually a girl.

Maelstrom is such a shit spell compared to all the other world enders.
>pawn casts it when fighting an enemy in a hallway
>have to back off for like 30 seconds because can't see shit
>spell doesn't even do that much damage

Well, i could sell you EVE Online has probably one of the best character creators i ever seen. But since you realistically never ever will see your character again after the creation, i can not recommend playing it for the creator. Try Honey Select, people have done great things in it.

I put a few hours into Eve, and the creator isn't as interesting even though you can get more detailed with the faces. But the best thing with Dogma is the gameplay coupled together with the awesome creator, not just the creator itself

I have never actually played a souls game. I just assume that they are more similar to Dragon's Dogma.
The other games on the list I have played, and wholeheartedly recommend to everyone.

After you get to Gran Soren the game really starts opening up. You can switch vocations whenever you want at the inn to see which ones you like.

Devil May Cry is made by the same devs and established a lot of the combat fundementals that carried over to DD.

If you're looking for a fantasy RPG that's remotely similar you're shit out of luck.
