I want to play a DB game while i wait for Fighters Z and i was thinking of getting pic related. Is it any good? I heard it doesn't have much fighting but that it is a fun game.

I made the original tier chart for Gohan Blanco, and the amount of edits that Sup Forums did was incredible, my original list only had like 9 or 10 people on it total. I still think Blanco should be on top though lol.

Hell fuck yeah it's good, a lot of content, a fuckton of "Pokemon" to catch (DB, DBZ, Movie, DBGT and DBS characters) and a really good yet simple combat system.
Extremely well made hub worlds, far bigger and better than Xenoverse 2's city hub.
Fusion has MULTIPLE hubs and every single one of them makes XV2's city hub look like claustrophobic.
I suggest pirating the uncensored version though, since they censored all swords into Arale's poop sticks in western version because of

It won't happen. He already has DB moves, the Haikyuuken and the knee divekick that broke Yamcha's leg. He's a big disappointment really, they shouldn't have gone with his Super version, he looks skinny and doesn't feel like the dude that beat Goku, and was his rival for a while.

Them using Super version of Tenshinhan is definitely the absolutely worst choice they did so far. I hope he will at least have his Super manga colors as alternate color palette, as in the ones with Crane School color scheme rather than the shitty Chinese Rice Farmer colors he has in the anime (and this game).

Yeah, I know. Doesn't change my wanting it. I like the Super costume and the Boo arc one too. I mainly just miss those extra moves. He has a wide array to draw from which I imagine was a gift and a curse from a design perspective for ASW.

The destroyed West City is green tinted with green and black sky, just like in the Goku Black arc, and the space and underground stages are from the BoG movie which ties directly to Beerus.

The battle system is simple but fun, though very repetitive. The game has a lot of characters, more than half that are OC donnut steals. My real grip with the game is that even though it has all this fusion gimmick, there's actually not that many fusions available in game, to the point that some characters don't even have one. There's a free fusion method involving the streetpass, but it's a pain in the ass to use if you don't have a friend with the game or a second 3ds.
A sequel with more fusions and characters would be greatly appreciated.

The official translation is still Zamasu though in Funimation version of Super and Xenoverse 2. Only fusions translated it as Zamas because it was done internally by Bamco with help of NoA's Treehouse of all things, which is why the western version censored all swords.

I honestly hate how they handled him in general, at least based on what they've shown. The Chaotzu assist wasn't neccesary and it doesn't fit him, that move could have been clones instead.

Japan actually unironically likes Yamcha though. Yes, he's basically become a gag character, but they do genuinely like him. He has a whole slice of life episode in Super dedicated to him where he's in the spotlight and wins the day. The episode is also really good and considered the "driving episode" of Super.

I agree. Just a clone doing Taiyoken for the "stun" would work fine. I am happy with Ten's moveset but I think it's the design philosophy that holds some of his moves back from making it into the game. You couldn't give him all of his shit without making him crazy strong desu. Not if you're doing his skill sets justice. At least the Chaozu thing has them both appearing in some form and references a moment from the source material.

I know this is way to soon but am I the only one hoping the sequel to fighterz includes base form versions of characters and allows you to transform in to super saiyans they already have the models for gohan, goku and trunks they would be easy enough to make with out diverting resources from new characters. Its the one thing this game does not have for my autism

It's a "hardcore" fighting game, it's not really meant for DBZ simulation fans like you, so the answer is unfortunately no chance of that happening at all. Best you'll get are the installs for characters like Freeza.

Idk if we'll even see a sequel. It's possible they might go "game as a service" route with this one like KI and SFV. Bamco DID say they wanted a game with lasting appeal, and given its popularity and the launch roster of 25ish chars, this might be the best way to go about it.

Then again, a sequel would all them to try out new mechanics and polish the best elements of the game while tossing what didn't work.

I'm a guy that has only played 1v1 fighting games.Are assists at all fun to go against? What can i expect going into a game that suddenly has assists.

Arc System Works isn't big on clone characters. They won't do that, especially since it'd ruin the meta by adding needles characters to learn the MUs for, and bloat the roster. Bigger isn't always better when it comes to fighting game roster. A small roster of 20ish characters that are all diverse and varied and have a lot of depth to them, like Guilty Gear, is much better than one with 60+ characters that feel very samey to play and have similar and shallow combos, like Smash 4.

Namekians get Giant Namekian form.
Saiyans get SSJ/2/3.
Humans get Kintoun and Nyoibo (Flying Nimbus and Power Pole for dubfags).
And Majin get Pure Boo (Kid Boo for dubfags) form.
Majin are definitely the laziest, you just transform into Pure Boo recolored to your Boo's skin color and that's it.
Saiyans SSJ at least changed their hair color and aura (and hair model in case of SSJ3), ditto for Golden Fridges minus SSJ3 part.

Yajirobe is directly responsible for both Piccolo Daimao and Vegeta being defeated. Without him, both of them would kill Goku.

Say what you will about Goku in Super (which is trash), but he being disappointed in his own kid for just being a loser who gave up on being in shape and sharpening his fighting skills is on point.
