How do we get rid of the scourge of cinematic "Press X to win" type games?
Will we see a resurgence of TRUE video games?

Remove Sony and MS. Bring back Sega. All of Sony's japanese devlopers are split between Nintendo and Sega.
Stop buying movie games
Remove Western AAA developers. That's literally the only way how.
japanese invented QTEs
japanese invented cinematic games
Wait until 2018
>Game advertises it as a casual romp with bombastic set pieces
>Sup Forums hates it because it isn't a hard core arena style TPS with dark souls like mechanics
Playing Uncharted 2 was the moment I realized Sup Forums is always wrong.
test
We are outnumbered by the mass amount of normies that buy these type of games.
What can we do to get THEM to stop buying them?
Why do we have to end any type of video games?
There are countless games that you can play at any given time, and many more coming out each day.
Not every game needs to play the way you want it to. Ironically I bet you complained about the Cuphead accessibility thing.
Dark Souls 3
Beta uprising soon
Was it God of War that popularized this?
lol

I'm enjoying Elex right now...it's as video-gamey as it gets. I really missed that kind of flawed gem.
Middle Market games need to come back.
>gem
Is it like those kind of games we used to see in the 2000s that were moderate budget games on PC
I'm pretty sure that Dragon's Lair is not japanese.
Just play the kinds of games you like, you fruitbat.
Uncharted actually does a pretty good job of never taking control away from the player, regardless of how much shit is going on in the scene. The evolution of the convoy sequence in each game is pretty neat, as it becomes more and more freeform and interactive with each iteration.
But Sup Forums doesn't actually play video games, so Uncharted is a movie game.
you can't. that's why democracy sucks
I think indies may offer a solution in this regard
Sup Forums doesn't even like hardcore anymore. They would rather play Overwatch over Quake Champions or Lawbreakers. Sup Forums is reddit now.
How come you can jump so high in that game?
You can't. They are a result of streamlining and making games more accessible. They replaced Tomb Raider and Soul Reaver in the action adventure genre. Now it is action. They replaced Fallout and Baldur's gate in the RPG genre. Now it is action. Even in the core action genre they ditched mazes and monster traps for cinematic chest high wall experiences. Take Quake 2 against even D44M and Quake still has more depth to its level design despite D44M being a very good attempt at a return to form. And that's an exception. Most action games, shooter or otherwise, are just linear set piece tunnels.
And the world prefers it this way. There's no going home.
