I want to get into an esport/competitive game, which one should I choose? Doesn't have to be free and doesn't necessarily have to be the most hardcore one out there.
I want to get into an esport/competitive game, which one should I choose...
If you have to ask what your passion should be to strangers, than you won't cut it nor actually have a drive.
The one you like. You can't spend 12 hours a day on shit you hate.
the esports bubble has burst, dont bother
Dota 2, cs go, quak champions, ow or league
Choose your poison
this
There are about 0 esport/competitive games that have come out in the past 5 years, you already missed the ship on all the good ones
You don't choose to dedicate yourself into a competitive game. You do it only because you have to for some innate reason. If you feel you can pick and choose then you'd quit pretty soon. That's how I experience it anyways.
>trying to get into a game that other people have already sunk over +30k hours in
>getting into a game that gets massive balance patches every year that all the current pros have access to for "quality testing" months before they hit the public realms
hahahaha ok sure why not.
rocket league, its still growing but its nearing its peak for sure if season 3 rlcs wasn't its peak.
Dota 2, Rocket League, League of Legends, CSGO
Avoid Overwatch, Blizzard is doing everything they can to sabotage it and everyone knows the launch of the pro circuit is going to be an underwhelming mess
Starcraft 2 still has a lot of people playing btw, wouldn't call it dead, more like it got eclipsed by assfaggots
>trying to get into a game that other people have already sunk over +30k hours in
does it matter? if you learn how to play you will be good enough to match them, you just have to play a lot
>getting into a game that gets massive balance patches every year that all the current pros have access to for "quality testing" months before they hit the public realms
I don't see a problem here, part of getting better is adapting to new things
Unironically wc3, its getting a pretty big revival right now. Its also getting a remaster or wc4 teaser this blizzcon.
Ok
lol, dota and csgo esports are on a decline
by the time you are good at any of them they'll be close to dead
LoL and Dota will be fine, it's just that mobas exponential growrth is over so they're naturally contracting back down to where they should be.
CSGO is the one I'm worried about. Losing tons of people to PUBG.
Wake up you little dreamer...it's a fucking job so the question is what can you bring to the table that isn't already available? While you think about that go back into the line and wait your turn, sheep!
dota players are plummeting, can't speak about lol seeing I dont play and they dont publish their numbers anymore but public interest in mobas in general is down, the games will be around in 5-10 years but I don't think they'll have a big esports scene
You're too old.
You can get good at these games in few weeks
sure thing
This. You can be good at any of them with in a few weeks. Getting good enough to actually to make money and compete is another matter.
I got tired of the CS formula 16 years ago, but the thing that made it stand out at the time was that dying really meant something since you get locked out for the round, and therefore your actions had more weight to them than in other shooters. pubg amplifies this by 100, it's suspenseful as fuck.
You can if you spend time practicing and playing which I guess you don't want to do
the massive amount of shit you have to know to be competent in a moba means you have to put hundreds of hours in
but sure, if you're good you can be good at cs in a few weeks seeing FPS skill translates
baka
>I want to get into an esport/competitive game
Why the hell do you want to do that?
>esports
Lmao. If you're gonna go that route git gud at fightan. Go all the way. Sure, the money isn't as much, but at least you won't be associated with cancer.
some people like competition
smash melee
>the top player gets like 500 twitch views
>the most personalable player gets like 2-3k views
>make a top 8 at a premiere(like three a year) and youll get sponsored by a reputable organization
>there are a bunch of fighting game guides.
i legit feel like i understand every game i happen to watch
>the handbook to footsies
>juicebox's explaination of footsies
>jchensors first attack series
basically, since block has weaknesses, you don't want to get hit or block an attack. so instead you want to make your opponents attack miss completely, and then hit them during the animation, since they can not block. this could be be during the startup; before the attack even comes out; have a hitbox that beats theirs during its active frames; or by reacting to start up and active frames and punishing the miss attack(whiff punishment) i hope you understand how important it is to keep your guard strong in boxing.
the game is 15 years old, there are guides to the top 4 characters that you can read on smashboards. i recommend marth, he won't break your hands, he plays fine versus all of the top 8 chara, except maybe sheik, and his sticky has been active since forever. yes, these people have been playing the same game for almost a generation, but competition is tough in all of these games.
