Are we ever gonna get Bloodborne 2? What could it be about? Would it play in Yharnam again? Would it be about the blood disease and the Great Ones again?

And no, I don't care about Code Vein. It looks and sounds like shit.

>secret boss is you from true ending of BB1

Woah, that would actually be awesome. The Hunter as a Great One, all grown up by now.

>Are we ever gonna get Bloodborne 2?
Hopefully not.

>Would it play in Yharnam again?
Hopefully not

The reason Bloodborne was so good in comparison to DS2 and DS3 is that it wasn't creatively bankrupt due to being a numbered sequel.

No. From aren't sony's bitch anymore

They still have 2 more titles with them iirc, one is a VR title though.

im indifferent to a BB sequel. From works best with original ideas.

>semi final boss is a red herring and optional
>no handholding to the true final boss

Unconfirmed. They just said it was 'weird'

What's their IQ?

>VR
What a waste of time. Maybe cool if it's armored core.

Miyazaki said three games were in development folllowing the release of DS3.

One was a Souls type of game, one was a new IP and another was more or less confirmed to be an Armored Core title.

The first could possibly be a new Bloodborne title with Dark Souls in conclusion finally.

2017? are they announcing something soon then?

Why do people even want a numbered Bloodborne sequel given how trash Dark Souls 2 and 3 were in terms of the story? I get it if you didn't enjoy Bloodborne's lore and story and just want to mash on monsters with trick weapons but the story and the setting will be ruined by sequels just like Dark Souls was.

That doesn't confirm shit, it's just a vage "More to come..." for their promo trailer.

2017 and forward, just a general timeline for the future. They could announce something, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

That's sad.

They wouldn't put PSVR if they weren't working on a PSVR title mate. Everyone is jumping on the VR trend, I wouldn't expect something massive, could just be an additional mode in Armored Core or whatever but they're working on something.

Dammit. Hopefully it's not exclusive.

That VR shit better be in Armored core and not their next dark fantasy game.

>They wouldn't put PSVR if they weren't working on a PSVR title mate.
Or if they were maybe considering having tentative plans to possibly do something in VR. It's too vague, it just doesn't mean anything.

I can't imagine how they'd make a good dark fantasy VR game that isn't horror, King's Field reboot maybe? Still not sure about the VR. It has to be something Armored Core related honestly, it's perfect for it.
We'll see eventually I guess.

Hopefuly there's slow, atmospheric dark fantasy somwhere among stuff they do.
I really like their slower, moody stuff

I think since the hunt is a thing that predates mankind, there can be a sequel lore-wise. Regarding game sells, it was a good one, sold like 2 million copies, as for the developers I'm not sure, the only hints they've given are the ones already mentioned in the thread.

Personally I would love a sequel, I want to see how they can expand or renovate the gameplay, maybe with new types of weapon that use a new level up degree, even if it's more of the same I'd be ok with it. I want to be able to go back to Yharnam and see that New Yharnam has become Old Yharnam after the first game, all ruined by the beasts.

Also, more ptumerian lore in the base game, not in chalice dungeons, so they can use new zones and bosses featured there

No it would be stupid after all of Yharnam turned into beasts or died due to Mensis. The main thing in BB was the reveal that Ayys and Gods are behind all of it and you can't do that reveal twice.

>hey I understand you might like good gameplay and want more good gameplay in a video game, but then the not gameplay won't be as good.

Go watch some Netflix hoe.

doesn't have to have a surprise

could take place pre-beasts yharnam and go on as the chaos unfolds, until you eventually seal yharnam or something

If they make a sequel they should just take the setting and build a new world and lore with it instead of regurgitating old ideas. They should have done the same to the dark souls games. You can tell the world and lore of dark souls was never intended to be build off of.

Who gives a fuck faggot the souls narrative is minimal and only autists cry about muh lore. As long as the gameplay is good in a souls game nothing else really matters.

considering what they did with dark souls franchise, i hope not.

but i sure as hell would play it.

MULTIPLAT HOW WILL THEY EVER RECOVER.

Would a prequel work?

So a prequel? There could only be little stuff added regarding lore and story because the important stuff
>finding Tombs of Gods and old blood
>Division of Byrgenwerth and Church
>Church's muh blud
>Byrgenwerth's muh eyes
>Laurence summoning MP
>Burning down Old Yharnam
is already explained in Bloodborne.
I would like to see something with similiar game mechanics like trick weapons, but it should have an actual and new story. But Bloodborne's story it complete as it is.
I would have loved something like an Executioner and Vileblood DLC. Ideas I heard/ red were something like a nightmare of them fighting each other for all eternity.

Don't think so as I said in this post, most important stuff is already revealed. Caryll is the only person I could think of who could need some more lore stuff.
I don't like the idea of taking persons like Ludwig and just showing their story from the past when most of the stuff is already (vaguely) explained.

Stop with the VR meme please, STOP. It's destroying video games like RE7.

>caring about IQ instead of based insight

Bump

ARMORED CORE WITH VR.
PLEASE LET ME JERK TO NINEBALL

How about a 'Great Ones Nightmare' where you can fight against deranged versions of the ones you killed in BB, like a boss rush or just a nice new zone where every great one is featured

But I want a new game, not a new DLC :(

Yeah how about no rehashed content and instead all new content?

...

Maybe visit some other place beyond Yharnam?

DaS2 wasn't creatively bankrupt, it was just bad in other aspects.

It would be cool if the blood disease reached some other places on the world.

Sequel set in the American Frontier.

If they do, I hope they remove gems and put something else. It was annoying being forced to complete those extremely boring dungeons over and over anytime I created a new character. And then being forced to farm gems like crazy if I wanted to get into the online scene because everyone else had those insane gems and would two shot you.

I want it to be set somewhere like Egypt or Africa and deal with fitting (but still horrifying) great ones. Some other cosmic bullshit to the plague though, don't know what.

I wouldn't like that setting at all for a Bloodborne game.

That would be the most disappointing fight in Soulsborne series.

they are probably working on a new IP that takes place in whatever setting from berserk they haven't ripped off yet

This.

I also hope they fix the camera. Fighting HUGE bosses fucks with your camera and subsequently your controls.

kek, fair enough, I just really liked the look of the Loran dungeons with all the sand poring in.

No for the best of this game we do not need a Bloodborne II. Bloodborne is better left as a single game.

They are actually about to announce something at the paris game event. Its supposed to be a Sony Exclusive and the leaks online suggest it will be called Phantom Wail

Phantom Wail just sounded like Absolver.

>Phantom Wail
Hahaha, the leaks said they were gonna show it at E3 but that was bullshit.

Phantom... Whale?

I have the feeling, and I really hope is a wrong feeling, that FROM currently suffers an equivalent development hell as CD Projekt Red: they are kind of prisoners from their success. They either repeat the same, pissing off their competent workers, or leave the comfort zone, making management nervous and too authority. Either way, the result may be shit and too rushed.

This
also give the new setting a WW2 aesthetic

Why don't you go back playing codww2 and wolfenstein

Nah the CEO was the main visionary on the projects that made him successful and hes already come out and stated hes moving in a different direction than souls lore. Hes going to come up with something great.

have faith

I think a more Caribbean setting would be cool, diving into some Pirate and Voodoo myths as giant sea beasts wreak havoc on the colonies. Doesn’t even have to be Bloodborne but I know the hunter aesthetic would translate well into a Pirate/Privateer one.

BB is my favorite game, and part of me wants to see a sequel just because I don't enjoy other games as much after playing BB. But I know that the reason BB worked is because it was a one off, fresh IP that took the player by surprise. Without that element, it would start to feel soulless like what the DaS series became.

If anything, I think they should have made one or two more DLC and expanded the endgame with one of them.

If they do make a sequel, and let's face it Sony isn't just going to let a potential cash cow die, I think I'd like to see what Japan Studio could do with the title without From.

Fucking. THIS.

Code Vein is looking like utterly bland shit. Hopefully That's not the direction they go.

I think one of the things that made Bloodborne great for me personally was the dark gothic setting and I wouldn't wanna lose that.

BB2, but with lootbox.

How's that?

>potential cash cow
I assume the game was profitable, but I wouldn't call it a potential cash cow. Too niche.

King's Field would be an excellent VR title.

From can make a sunny day gloomy. Bloodbornes first third was during the evening and it was still bright but kept that darkness to it, Dark Souls 3 has most of it taking place in the day time and it works. You can make it fit the aesthetic despite the setting being tropical or a desert.

They need to patch that in BB, forget waiting until the next entry.

Just make it so clearing a story chalice on one character considers it cleared for all characters. Twinking was never a big concern with this game anyway, especially not at this point. Those story chalice keep me from making new builds.

It's 7th on the list of best selling PS4 titles, which is pretty good when you consider the normie bait it is up against.

I can see they doing a port city with some ghost ships and shit
plus berserk already did that so it's pretty much guaranteed they're gonna copy it at some point

>American Gothic horror in the Wild West
Me want.

Do you think that we would be coming to the same dream if there's a sequel? Or maybe a redesigned hunters dream

>spooky sale on PSN
>the old hunters is not on sale
one job damn it
does that shit ever goes on sale or what?

They already went there a bit, kinda, with the DLC and the orphan of Kos, the whole fishing hamlet and the church thinking that great ones came from the sea

I considering DS 3 got lunched into normie fame for what ever reason im sure if bloodborne 2 was released it would be sucked up by their new fan base

So Dark souls 3? Uncreative.

they could show yharnam in a future where people began replacing their bodies with clockwork and steam to prevent turning into beasts or maybe set it in a new world colony that went horribly wrong when it uncovered some dark secret.

It was on sale last month

>not getting the GOTY edition
No excuse

Bamco paid streamers to stream some content prior to release with early copies, I doubt Sony or FromSoft would do the same. Only 40% of Steam owners got far enough to actually beat the Princes, so it's not like most who bought it are going to be fans.

Hunter's Dream only exists because of MP and Gehrman, both get "killed". That would speak for it being a different place, but in the last cutscene it's still the same Hunter's Dream, so the Hunter's Dream most likely continues to exist.
It's hard to say whether it would be the same.
The whole idea of "dreaming" (dying and "waking up" again) only existed because Mp wanted you to become strong enough to kill Great One babies, MP is dead now. So the dreaming must be completely reshaped.

Story wise as user said would be missing the big ayy lmao reveal but that wouldn't be a big killer

Setting wise could be anything. They could do loran easily as its a fresh aesthetic and its not explained the hows and whys of the beast scourge happening there

However a big part of the game and one many people liked was the Victorian gothic setting. They could do people exploring now ruined yarham and finding the blood but thats really just the same story as the first game.

Personally i think something to do with the good hunter now great one could be interesting. Possibly he tries to go around stopping bad great ones fucking over humans or returns to his home town to watch over it. Could have him killed/betrayed by the humans he is helping and blood curses them for revenge ironically becoming the same as the yarham great ones or just accidently fucking everthing up trying to help getting hated for it

You're a fucking stupid faggot if you think that what lore breadcrumbs have been fed to the player would affect the setting of a sequel game at all.

>Hunter's Dream only exists because of MP and Gehrman
>talking out of your ass this hard

Fuck, Sup Forums is so goddamn stupid when it comes to interpreting the retardedly simple plots in fromsoft games.

>you're a fucking stupid faggot
You need to be at least 18 years old to use this board.

You replace the MP though in the last ending hence the dream continues

>let's just throw everything away we made up in the first game

> (You)
>>Hunter's Dream only exists because of MP and Gehrman
>>talking out of your ass this hard
>Fuck, Sup Forums is so goddamn stupid when it comes to interpreting the retardedly simple plots in fromsoft games.
Are you fucking stupid?

I didn't think about that one.

>yfw b-team is developing bloodborne2

>lore breadcrumbs

>Hunter's Dream
>Gehrman the first Hunter

>Doll looks like Maria
>Gehrman sad when Maria killed herself
>there is another Doll in the abandoned old workshop which looks like the Hunter's Dream

>there is a umbilical cord in the abandoned old workshop
>It's description says "The Third Umbilical Cord precipitated the encounter with the pale moon, which beckoned the hunters and conceived the hunter's dream."

>Gehrman crying for Wilhem and Laurence when sleeping
>Laurence beckoning the Moon Presence

Which ending do you think is more likely to be canon

Probably the one where you consume the 3 umbilical cords.

So we'd get another bloodborne game that looks like trash and a mishmash of incredibly questionable, horrifically bad and actually good mechanics?

Really? Why? I think the waking up ending is better for a sequel, since you're just another hunter who lived and the cycle keeps moving

The waking up ending sounded like a "yeah ok, you took the easy way out - there you have your shitty ending then" ending. I think as said it would be cool if we saw the hunter as a Great one again in some other game. Not necessarily as an enemy, but I really wanna know more about that ending.

Direct sequels killed Souls. Prove me wrong.

a sequel would either over-explain stuff that would ruin the lovecraftian themes
or move too far away from the established lore to a point they might as well just do a new IP

Honestly i'd rather have them do a whole new setting
