Nintendo earns a lot of the shit that people give it, but does any other company have such an amazing reservoir of franchises?
Nintendo earns a lot of the shit that people give it...
Sony comes pretty close, but Nintendo has been around for longer
How many of Sony's franchises did they actually make vs just own the rights to? The only ones in the OP pic that Nintendo didn't make are Pokemon and I think EarthBound
Capcom and Sega are up there.
I'll give you Sega but Capcom pretty much doesn't count since it doesn't use any of its franchises except for Street Fighter and making shitty Resident Evil games.
I think Square-Enix comes the closest.
Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy
Kingdom Hearts
Dragon Quest
Deus Ex
Nier/Drakengard
The only negative is their portfolio is nowhere near as diverse as Nintendo, and they rely on third parties a lot more.
Xenoblade is first party now OP.
Did they acquire Monolith?
there should be another kirby air ride with 10x more content, that game was enjoyable
Deus Ex is afaik shelved after Mankind Divided
It's a subsidiary of Nintendo.
There's something really enjoyable about traversing a large space at extreme speeds. It's what 3D Sonic should be.
Sucks. At least they got two recent games out of it unlike F-Zero.
XenoBLADE has always been first party.
Publishers that own the best IPs imo:
Sega > Nintendo > Konami > Capcom > Square Enix
The only one making any decent use of them at the moment is Nintendo though.
Too bad Sega just doesn't have the talent/will to revive their older IPs.
Sega is a meme, and Konami's only good franchises are Goemon and Castlevania. Namco is above those two, easily.
Yes, it's really a shame.
Your underage is showing, matey.
Sega does, but one thing prevents them from being good.
Is there any company that just sits on their IPs, doing absolutely nothing with them (not even cameos or merchandise) like Sega does?
JapanStudio is Sony's literal in-house studio. They don't have many games they made themselves as they usually co-develop games like Bloodborne.
But the big Sony IPs are mostly first-party.
Capcom, Namco, and Konami have a pretty impressive list too. Too bad they're all listed under "dead". Nintendo probably has the strongest non-dead one.
>will potentially ruin prime trilogy by making a game no one actually asked for
>won't give us racing game with no story restraints cuz "muh no new ideas"
Nintendo everybody!
>Sony comes pretty close
>will potentially ruin prime trilogy by making a game no one actually asked for
Literally everyone who played Prime wanted 4
>won't give us racing game with no story restraints cuz "muh no new ideas"
F-Zero is an antiquated franchise that doesn't matter at all anymore. Fast RMX is the same exact thing and it gets old in an hour. Face it, what more do you want besides a remaster of GX?
>Making a game nobody asked for
I don't know if you were born yet, but back in 2013/2014~ Nintendo had a poll to see which franchises fans most wanted, and Metroid was the number one spot, Metroid Prime was number two.
Capcom has massive ones and it isn't just Megaman, Devil May Cry and Ace Attorney
>Monster Hunter
>Dead Rising
>Darkstalkers
>Ghost & Goblins
>Vs Capcom series
Fuck off, we have enough Nintendo threads up right now.
Mario Kart doesn't get to be classed as it's own franchise? It sells more than most of the others combined.
What the fuck is up with you nintendo faggots? You're just about as worse as the faggots on Neogaf. Fuck off.
That's goes for the mods on Sup Forums too. Kill yourselves.
