Would probably be more viable if the switching to and from this weapon was quicker. In its current state, it's still fun to use, and has a lot of versatility in certain maps.

It's both fun to play with and against, pyros have become one of the best flanking classes, and watching pyros fly over walls and barriers to ambush my team has been some of the most fun I've had with this game

It's great for setting up ambushes later on but a death sentence if you try to use it as a way to actually advance on players/escape from battle. I say the best way to use it is to just fly up the second or third floor of a building and leave it at that

It's an ok mobility weapon. Would be better if it was an on demand with hitting jump while already jumping to use thing like the base jumper already is.

Clearly made to make up for the nerf to Afterburn.

Before a Pyro could just charge into a clump of enemies and even if it got killed, the enemy is still burning for several seconds and taking a significant amount of damage, forcing them to either scatter for Health Packs and Dispensers, or have the Medic pull his dick out of the Heavy's ass to make his rounds. Now it needs to douse the group with this before that can happen.

It does need a bit of adjustment, the cloud feels kind of small, and every thrown weapon should be able to hold down left click and see a trajectory line.

Recharge time alone does it. I was a gimmicky piece of shit before that took forever to recharge and that you kinda had to use with the sandman. Its good on its own now.

Sandman actually does decent damage on hit.


Jetpack is something I think Pyro should have had a long time ago as an ambush class. Fun with the backburner


Afterburn was nerfed, but Flamethrowers are still better overall.

Real question; why use the banana over the Dalokoh's? Don't they have the same recharge, and the Dalokoh's gives you 50 overheal.

Jetpack is okay but very optional

generally useless inside of combat, only really good for getting to higher spots when no enemies were nearby

Probably the best secondary weapon in the game at the moment, displacing Jarate/Sandvich. It's definitely unpolished, janky, needing some more work, and could even be improved without significantly impacting its balance (eg. make the backblast actually usable and useful, make it actually do the goomba-stomp it advertises, maybe make it negate fall damage for the player altogether), but as it is, a pure flanking-assist utility weapon, it is a game-changing weapon. Pyro is now a full mobility class, who can get anywhere on any map.

It's really fun seeing the flyros come help defend or attack the objective in Harvest, they get there so fast.

I haven't played TF2 in ages but when I last did, it was mostly MvM with my friends. And I always played Solider with parachute and the launcher that shoots really fast while airborne. I guess the parachute still usable, but would it kill them to make up for the nerf by adding some MvM upgrades to it?

is okay. Detonator is good enough for mot situations but just having the option is good.

Why can't it just be Jarate with afterburn on damage instead of minicrits? That would still be fairly useful if people get hit and then move away, with Jarate the rest of the effect would be wasted but with gas they'd be on fire. Why does it have to be some weird area denial bullshit with a damage based recharge?

I play stock soldier, if you can aim they can't airblast your rockets and you can still damage them with the explosion for at least 60-70

I also noticed that destroying a teleporter counted as a sentry for the medic contract.

i thought dalokahs only actually healed 50 health while eaten, it has been a long time for me. i think it also takes a little bit longer to recharge. banana heals 200 and recharges half as fast as sandvich which heals 300, its good for casual at least

Also, used the Thruster to land on someone's head, took a lot of fall damage, did no damage at all to the enemy I landed on. Shit is bugged.

its probably like that for a reason though, i haven't used it much but i imagine it is better than jarate/milk, if ANYTHING damages them, including a soldier rocketjumping himself, they catch onfire and take 64 damage in 8 seconds. there are already 20 pyros in every match right now, if they ever wanted to buff it they aren't going to do so until things go back to normal

also that cloud seems to stay for a little while so anyone that walks through it gets gassed on (oWo) which is slightly more annoying than the other two, i wouldn't want it to be spammable

how does scorch shot work now? wouldn't it do like 3 seconds of afterburn? also you need line of sight, you can throw this over a rock. im specifically thinking of maps like viaduct where the entire enemy team will likely be pooling in one area, pyro can just toss it over a rock and anyone else can go behind and ignite it for full afterburn damage

All flare guns do 7.5 seconds of afterburn, meaning their total afterburn damage is the same as before.

but that is on direct hit, you can only direct one enemy so how is scorch shot better than potentially 12 enemies taking 64 damage each? its just as easy to get as conch banner and unlike it is static between lives. i agree it is not going to find much usage but maybe there are more effective strategies to utilize the weapon than we know of. maybe for flank pyros if you destroy teles/dispensers it charges too for example
