remove/change a lot of block puzzles make the game larger make the combat more nuanced and harder. The missing 1/3rd of that game should be restored with the cut ending.

The first Blood Omen is still tied up in legal bullshit between Silicon Knights and Crystal Dynamics. It's unlikely it will ever be remade.

But Soul Reaver was one of the games that did them right. There were a lot of pattern matching and configuration puzzles that were straight up well designed. And Raziel's movement was not that slow with the block pushing.

the block pushing puzzles were pretty interesting, but I couldn't disagree more about the movement speed.

Hopefully it's just a modern steam port with some common sense improvements like better controls and Dreamcast visuals. I'd hate to see one of gaming's finest franchises suffer the indignities of typical, low effort "remasters".

Defiance finished it up enough for me. Like I know there are a ton of dangling threads but I'm at peace with that. The story I care about is arced out fairly enough.

Defiance only really served to end Raziel's story. Kain still has to defeat the Elder God for good and ensure Nosgoth can begin healing.

Even it ends up a success and sells 5 million copies, they wont support it because its not funneling enough money to fund FF7R. Theyre already harsh with their JP IPs as is.

That's not a fucking cliffhanger you mong that's resolution to the main plot thread: how to free yourself from fate. The resolution is that for the first time in Nosgoth's history they are unbound from fate. The ending was only ever going to be - could only ever be a """"clifffhanger"""". Raziel's story is done and Kain is unbound, free to live a life where he isn't forced to destroy himself or the world.

What you want past that is a serialized "The Continuing Adventures of Kain and Pals!" Xena tier follow up.

What made the ps1 era so memorable in term of game atmosphere ? I'm currently replaying Medievil 1 because of spooktober and it's wonderful too.

That's how Blood Omen 1 would paint it if it ended there. With the continuation of the story it comes to be that Kain realises that his real and true destiny was perverted and manipulated from the beginning. Kain embracing his vampirism was his turning a curse into a power he could use to defeat his enemies and restore his true destiny as balance guardian.

Add in a option to let you play the cut content, like the human settlement, Turel and actually killing Kain.

Yeah, the block puzzles were really interesting and challenging if you took a power drill to your brain.

For us normal people we knew exactly what the final outcome had to be to solve it, it was just a waste of time pushing those blocks staring at the slow push animation over and over again.

I loved this DLC. One of the few DLC things I actually bought just because I love LoK.

If they are working indeed in a remake they have to get Michael Bell and Simon Templeman, everyone else can change. Will miss Tony Jay though, he was too good.
