What? Zandronum always has different mod servers up when I check it including some for Hexen and other wads. Are there any stats of how many players are online for GZDoom? If it's better populated I'll consider switching to it.

The only really bad map is Lockbox but its so fucking bad it drags the rest down. You're also putting too much importance on the hero part- everyone has the same ol' Quake weapons, no one is limited by what equipment they can use and the abilities have such long cool downs that most of the time they may as well not exist. You ever played UT with one of the Racial Statistics mutators? It's way closer to that than OW or TF2.
This is not a game breaking problem in single-player (especially since the enemy attack speed presumably scales in the same way), but who the fuck designs a multiplayer game bound to the player's FPS?

multiplayer still has to be considered though when rating the whole package. a $60 AAA FPS needs to have MP nowadays and since it's DOOM I expect good MP

A lot of games tend to sync things into the frame rate. Dead Space's physics does that too.
It's just easier to do that then actually optimize the game
