To make a long story short, there's a sequel comic they had that ties Prototype 1 and 2. Alex goes into hiding, tries to live his life normally instead of solving whatever fucking threat PARIAH could be and just finds humanity not worth saving at all. His last "attempt" to rejoin humanity had him settle in a small town where he got acquainted with this one father and daughter. The father gets harassed by landlords, Alex kills them but finds out the dad was a criminal in the past and he kills him too because he was "disgusted" by this revelation. He comes back to leave and start again with the daughter who he was attracted to but the girl shoots him in the face because her father taught her how to protect herself. Thus begins Prototype 2 where Alex is a cunt and tries to be a half-assed Magneto/Wesker trying to ascend humanity
