I want to get one of these for black friday but I don't know which, or if I should get either at all. I've never tried anything VR and the PS4 accessory seems like the cheapest way to try it out, and it seems cool as fuck. I'm worried that there's not much content out there for it and that support might be suddenly dropped soon.

As for the Switch, Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey look amazing and Super Bomberman R looks pretty cool, but what else is there? I don't want any multiplayer focused games so forget about Splatoon 2 and ARMS doesn't interest me all that much. Are there some Switch exclusives that I'm missing?

Or should I just skip out altogether and save my money? I'm leaning towards that but I would like to have something new.

Dont fall for the psvr meme

There are tons of VR games for it, it's worth your time to at least check VR out since it is the hot new thing.

You'll get much much more playtime out of a switch. I've tried PSVR and it still feels like you're watching a very small screen, I wasn't ever able to get immersed in it like with the HTC Vive.

All in all, I would recommend having a look at which games are on each system and making your choice accordingly.

VR is a meme that will forever disappoint your expectations
Get the Switch

Yeah PSVR is as low as $270 in some places because they're clearing out the stock of the old model to make way for the new model.

>a very small screen

You've got some massively fucked up vision, user.

Psvr is neat, but you're limited to what's on the ps4. You don't have any of the cool shit you see on a lot of YouTube channels.

The Switch is glorified ipad with a battery life of 2 hours when portable and it has no games.

Don't buy a VR headset before trying. Ask around if anybody you know have oculus/vive. If you're a student you can probably try VR at the computer science department.

VR will probably disappoint you anyway, so just buy the Switch.

With VR it's pretty much the Vive or nothing. Switch is a good purchase though, it's having a great first year. I expect a lull in releases next year though.

T. Clueless fag

I love how Sup Forums never disappoints in starting a recommendation thread with two opposing thoughts right out of the gate.

>Switch is a good purchase
>I expect a lull in releases next year though
So... it's not a good purchase?

How reputable is this website? I find it hard to believe that I'm actually going to get a Switch for $100 off. Seems like a buyer beware kind of situation.

They're also selling the older model PS4 for $150. This seems a little too good to be true.

indeed you are

As much as I love my PS VR, it's just not worth your money right now. There are so few full games, so many shitty indie experiences and mini games and lack of information from Sony itself that the almost 500 bucks will hurt you for the rest of your days. The actual experience is fucking amazing, but aside from capcom with RE VII, Bethesda with Skyrim and Doom, there are no other big companies making anything for it.

At the same time, it's always an awful idea to get the first model of a Nintendo product, specially a handheld.

>it's always an awful idea to get the first model of a Nintendo product, specially a handheld
I find it hilarious that I, personally, keep forgetting this rule of thumb. I keep finding myself surprised when Nintendo comes out with a new and better model. To be fair, though, their home consoles don't get revisions and it's questionable what route they'll take with the Switch.

The need to fix the huge horrible looking bezels.
They can include the stupid device they came up with for voice chat.
They can make the joy cons less retarded.
They can change the position of the charging slot.
They can add more internal memory.
They can extend the battery.

There are plenty of things they can do to improve what basically is a Chinese tablet.

Lmao, do not buy from this scam site

>200 dollars for a brand new Switch
Yeah no

I didn't say the Switch can't be improved upon; obviously it can. What I said was that Nintendo rarely makes revisions of their home consoles. The NES and SNES got a revision extremely late in their lives, N64 and GameCube never got one, and the Wii got a worse version that removed its backwards compatibility.

On the other hand, all of their handhelds received drastically superior improvements within a fairly short time. It could be because handhelds are typically cheaper and easier to produce, and the Switch certainly does not fall into this category. Also, Nintendo has no reason to revise the Switch since its been selling like crazy so they likely see little reason to "fix" it, even though it really could use one. Anyway, it could go either way.

I'm real fucking close to doing it too. This shit seems absurdly cheap for no good reason.

i love vr and will defend it until its inevitable future in every household but id skip psvr from what i read and put that money towards a pc or something else. and def dont waste your money on a switch

>Actually wants to try VR

No. Stop it. You clearly aren't old enough to remember the last time VR was a thing.
