Extremely attentive Kingdom Hearts fans might have already discovered [the secrets]...

>Extremely attentive Kingdom Hearts fans might have already discovered [the secrets], but one is that Sora's movements change from sitting, to standing, to walking
>One more is that when you line up the three illustrations, you'll notice that they show the flow of time with changes in the sky. [KH1.5] is sunset becoming night, [KH 2.5] is the middle of the night, and [KH 2.8] is night breaking into dawn.
>Those three illustrations have a message regarding the final chapter, [Kingdom Hearts III]
did anyone ever figure out what Nomura meant by this?

2deep for me.

Not even Nomura knows

>caring about the symbolism in an overwritten, overly-convoluted piece of trash only played by autistic teens, autistic adults, ecelebs and the people being egged on by them to 'give it a try'

I don't remember half these characters on the art. I'm fucked

Half of them are Sora and the other half are Xehanort

There, you are caught up

kingdom hearts is light, KH3 box will be bright sunlight, aka KH3 finally tells you what the fuck is actually happening

This. I tried these games once. It was shit. What kind of retard actually likes this series?

>different people have different tastes

gee I wonder

>kingdom hearts
>overwritten

people that say that kingdom hearts is complex are the highest tier of brainlet. They are all children's games that explain themselves very slowly and clearly for even the biggest retards.

Quit confusing length for complexity. A lot of things have happened because the series is 15+ years old and it with KH3 it will have reached over 200+ hours of JRPG. No shit a lot of things have happened.

I honestly forget if the one where sora.exe goes through the journal had any real significance

Ansem (the REAL Ansem) put some shit in Sora's head

that's literally it

no, not at all. There is very little new information in Coded and the only important things (Xehanort is coming back because his heartless and nobody got killed, Ansem the Wise hid data in sora, Mickey becomes aware that Aqua and Ven need to be saved) are actually covered again in Dream Drop and explained to Sora because he's never heard them before. You can skip coded entirely.

Not releasing 3 much sooner was a mistake, at this point the story is a clusterfuck and there have been so many half assed side games that I don't feel like playing through that I probably won't even bother, they really dropped the ball on this whole franchise

Nobody said anything about complexity except you, brainlet.

Not him, but Kingdom Hearts is just for special needs people at this point. The gameplay is complete garbage (I only played the games in the 1.5+2.5 collection), the story is shit and is overwritten with all the side material you need to buy, certain versions being more canon (Final Mix bullshit), the whole mobile game thing where you need to play 2000 missions or something, in addition to the two region exclusive computer games, and then there's manga that I don't know is canon or even official.
>people that say that kingdom hearts is complex are the highest tier of brainlet. They are all children's games that explain themselves very slowly and clearly for even the biggest retards.
But you need to play 8 fucking games, watch a shit movie, play a mobile game, read about the two PC games that are connected to the mobile game (as you can't play those anymore), and then dive through a bunch of other shit to get the whole story.
>Quit confusing length for complexity
Fucking around with prequels and changing continuity does make it somewhat complex. Same issue with Metal Gear, but at least Metal Gear had the decency to give the important ones numbers and put them on consoles instead of handhelds.
>A lot of things have happened because the series is 15+ years old and it with KH3 it will have reached over 200+ hours of JRPG. No shit a lot of things have happened.
Let me make a comparison. The Yakuza series has a bunch of games. But, everything outside of the numbered titles is non-canon. Yakuza1-6 and 0 are canon. Kiwami 1 and 2 are remakes of the first two games. This series has been around for 12 years, they don't put important games on the DS and give them a name like 358/2

Is Nomura the George Lucas of video games?

>people have different tastes
Which part of this is confusing you?

You may find the gameplay garbage, while others like it. You may think the story is shit, while other people like it.

KH3 is going to be just as bad if not worse than KH0.2, filled to the brim with inconsistent hitstun, floaty shitty unconnecting swings, no hitstop/screenshake, it doesn't even have superarmor/hyperamor/poise like every other good ARPG does have as indicated by hitstop/screenshake on hits without hitstun.

To the people saying they're looking forward to KH3, did you even touch 0.2 or let alone even watch any videos of it? It is floaty garbage and only shows how incompetent Osaka team still is. Don't believe me? Well it doesn't matter because the best speedrunners in the world agree.
youtu.be/UhcqCIWc2wY
youtu.be/GneueoIbVCU

I hope before it comes out you heed my warning, 3 is not going to a good game, it is filled with inconsistent hitstun, floaty combos, no revenge values, too many options, limited choices, and it just looks ugly.

If you haven't played tge series just emulate 2FM and stop after you're done, the drop in quality is embarrassing and no one enjoys Osakashit anyway. Nomura lost his touch.

Alright. Then those people have shit taste and their opinions are worthless and shouldn't be taken seriously anywhere

Is there any hint of what's in the coffin at the end of the movie in 2.8

This place is fully autistic and you wonder why there are fans of it here?

Catching up is easy with the HD collections though.

do you know what convoluted means? and you're calling me a brainlet. open a dictionary.

But you need to play 8 fucking games, watch a shit movie, play a mobile game, read about the two PC games that are connected to the mobile game (as you can't play those anymore), and then dive through a bunch of other shit to get the whole story.

and all of those are for children, and written for children. It's less complex than harry potter. There's a lot of games, yes, the series is 15 years old and each game is a ~30 hour jrpg. But until Dream Drop Distance the series is extremely, extremely easy to follow.

and as a side note, the two pc games are entirely irrelevant. You just play the phone game instead.

>Fucking around with prequels and changing continuity does make it somewhat complex. Same issue with Metal Gear, but at least Metal Gear had the decency to give the important ones numbers and put them on consoles instead of handhelds.

I'll never defend the numbering of the series, or the ability to follow across consoles, so you got me there. KH3 is really KH6, most people due to not having one or more of the games have to read a 30 hour jrpg summary, and reading the game's plot condensed in that way makes it sound a lot more convoluted than it is. It meant that nearly every person had to look up the plot of at least one of those three games, and went "wow this is not how i would like to enjoy these games" it was retarded, and it killed the momentum of the series.

i was just talking about the story though and the games themselves, not the feasability to follow it. The games explain themselves very clearly and thoroughly and not a ton happens until DDD.

>6 games
>3 movies
>a shitty mobile game you have to grind in for hours
>$120 +taxes +possible shipping +microtransactions in the mobile games
>hours of dedication to a series you may or may not like for a sequel that may not ever come out
>catching up is easy

>Sora metaphorically brings light back to world as he runs into battle in high noon
>KH4 will be the sunset arriving once more as a new cycle begins.

>and all of those are for children, and written for children. It's less complex than harry potter.

You say this like most people here don't religiously follow Mario or Bandicoot games.

the phone game isn't going to be important. it won't even be finished by the time KH3 is out.

The only thing that could even affect KH3 is a plot macguffin that KH3 is going to explain anyway. Just like how DDD explained everything important from Coded, if there's anything from the phone game in KH3 it'll explain it. It won't be like CoM because CoM actually did important shit like introduce the organization, axel, and DiZ.

Is the 1.5 and 2.5 combo game a good port?

ebin plot twist

They patched it twice and fixed most of the issues people had with it, so yeah.

Good because that and bloodborne are gonna be my first ps4 games next month and wanted to make sure it was good.

It's a good port. Don't buy it though as the games are shit. Waste your money on Danganronpa or Yakuza Kiwami

Gameplay has never been a severe issue with the franchise. Stop trying to make it one.

Get Nioh too.

Literally Noctis on the left and right.

look into dragon's dogma

Friend already owns it digitally on his psn account. Gonna make him the primary and play his games too. Don't gotta pay for cyber sleuth, P5, or Nioh

I really want pc version of the hd collection. I already completed 1,2 com and bbs on ps2/psp/emulator multiple times but i want it in native form on pc, with high resolution and without stretched hud and other bullshit.

Only if I get the Berserk outfits. Got jipped on PC.

Sure you did.

>complaining about no hitstun when the enemy is already on the ground
What more do you want? Can't get any more stunned than that.

What the fuck is in the MoMs black box and where is Kingdom Hearts going after 3. X - Back Cover fucked me up in terms of where this series will go after 3 wraps up Sora and Xehanort

What are the odds that Nomura ACTUALLY has a general plan for some of this shit and where its going and has had one all this time? There's times when I highly question it but other times when its almost undeniable that he HAS to have some idea and has had one since the beginning.

i made a thread a couple months about that, Nomura seems to really like those poses. especially the first, pic related

KHIII is the finale of the current story arc. It can't have come sooner.

Even if it weren't titled KHIII, even if it were another subtitle or a further number, the game they are developing right now, the end of Xehanort, was not going to happen any sooner than it is.

It's not going to happen, both 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 have the "Only on PlayStation" on the box, which means it can never get ported.
>inb4 Nioh
It never had it on the box

>+microtransactions
You don't have to pay retard.

$90 for six fucking games is a steal.
And 2.8 is only $40 on Amazon right now so that's $80
That's the equivalent of buying The Evil Within 2 and Cuphead right now.

There hasn't been a deal this good since the MGS Legacy Collection.

Back Cover and the mobage will be what's covered after 3, although the box and the foretellers will be at least mentioned in 3. I hope we get to go to Daybreak Town

My copies aren't Only on PlayStation.

In JP or NA.

Mine are, EU though

>both 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 have the "Only on PlayStation" on the box
Nope.

So they are.

I wonder why it's different for EU.

Kingdom hearts is garbage anyway. Square Enix is such a shitty publisher they have no idea what they’re doing. Anyone who disagrees is wearing some pretty potent nostalgia goggles.

The first one is fun if you want to play as a kid beating up monsters in Disney themed worlds with a giant key. It's when the games start taking themselves seriously (every game after the first) that they become hard to bear.

What is this talk of movies? When the hell did kingdom hearts get movies?

EU is different user

more proof in case you think it's shopped
youtube.com/watch?v=-NCTuWRrBiI

I count at least three Sora's and two Xehanorts on the first cover alone.

2.8 has 2 games and one movie, which covers the mobile game

>358/2 days cutsecens
>recoded cutscenes
>back cover (mobage) movie

Back Cover doesn't go over the events of the game. It's a separate story, like Reverse/Rebirth

i know, i was just letting him know what the movies were

Well Nomura has stated that ports are possible*, so I guess if it does happen the EU will just be screwed out of them.
* web.archive.org/web/20170722212725/http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/07/16/kingdom-hearts-3-director-switch-version-maybe-possible-after-xbox-one-ps4-versions-are-released
>Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura says a Nintendo Switch version of Kingdom Hearts 3 or Xbox One versions of the Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 and II.5 ReMix or Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue collections could be possible in the future, but only after existing versions of Kingdom Hearts 3 are complete.

i'm pretty sure he's lying desu. it would look bad if he just said no. but i guess its possible

There's no lie in saying that it's possible.

He just made it clear that it can't happen until KHIII has released.

maybe it doesn't sell well in EU
