i played it and got to the "Defend keeps for 15 hours" phase and stopped

What are your expectations for the main story and characters? How important are they to you?// Discussion

For me a good story and characters are just as important as good gameplay, if not more considering this is AC. The last few games have been rather disappointing in that department but I really hope Origins can deliver again.

It has a lot of potential, we will be seeing the origin of the Brotherhood as an organization and the time period & historical figures (Cleopatra, Caesar) also provide for a lot of interesting story possibilities. The MD also needs to get its deserved spotlight and not be an afterthought which seems to be what we are getting.

Bayek seems interesting (finally not the Ezio archtype but someone more original) so far but I also hope that the side characters are good & memorable. BF had for me the best where most side characters were awesome (Adewale, Mary, Blackbeard to name a few), I hope for similiar if not better quality.

Since I've seen a lot of people arguing over what race the ancient Egyptians were, allow me to clarify. Ancient Egyptians are not believed to have been white or black, but something in between. The people of ancient Egypt had a range of skin tones. North, where the Nile meets the sea, people were paler and more European, in some areas they were more Middle Eastern, and in the south (near Nubia) they were black. Ramesses II, for example, was found through testing to be white with red hair. Cleopatra on the other hand was Greek/Persian. The Sphinx is much more black (Nubian). There was no single defining race in ancient Egypt. It was a large area with a huge number of racial differences.

The people complaining that everyone is black might be right or wrong - if it is just one area in the South of the map, then that makes sense. If all of ancient Egypt is black in this game, then that is inaccurate.
