I don't think you appreciate just how badly Ubisoft fucks these things up. They do nothing but suck french cocks all day long in Quebec and the fucked up the French Revolution. They made something awesome totally boring.

The problems that game had were related to its performance and to the multitude of bugs, I thought the setting, atmosphere etc was 10/10.

It really wasn't, Egypt was just another boring Roman vassal state. The only "interesting" thing about it is their civil war was between brother and sister and the sister won.

A lot of really crazy shit went on in the revolution. Do you know how much of it made it into the game's story? NONE. Just a bunch of cameos who game you assassination or theft quests.

Ubisoft can turn any settings into a boring soulless game. They have a really hard time doing it right.

Origins is made by the Black Flag team and they did a good job with the story and characters. The writing was one of the best in the medium.

Black Flag's story was written by the American savant who invented the series. Also Black Flag as a game was not originally supposed to be an AC game.

All the "team" is create the assets and content that the director forces them to make. I also feel that this would be a good time to point out that Origins has absolutely nothing to do with being pirate captain in the Caribbean sea.

Most characters have very little characterisation due to the low amount of screen time they have.
They also next to no character development, including the main characters.
The dialogue are serviceable, but not noteworthy.

It was good in that ubi finally realised no one gave a shit about their ancient aliens bullshit and side-lined it. Pity they had to use it anyhow because of "muh lore". I swear if they didn't base the majority of story missions around following random dicks and eves dropping and just had the "final mystical ancient alien cave" randomly it would have worked better.

Then the bar is low as fuck. Shit, I really don't see what you AC4 worshipers see in that game. Really fun first 2 hours of ship gameplay, but the rest is repetitive as hell and standard Assassin's Creed fare.
