certainly not anything from logitech

F710 is the best one I've ever had

just use a ds4 or ds3

I bought some cheap "retro" controllers on ebay that looked like old refurbished console controllers. They work good enough for what I use them for, but one of my snes-style controllers needed some tape around the cord to stop it from coming out. I had a logitech controller for a little while but the d-pad started acting strange. Down would sometimes register as down-right, right would sometimes not work at all.

that one

NO.

i use this and its fucking nearly impossible to do a kick (forward+r1) or leaping attack (forward+r2)

i can do the r2 if i get a running start and hit r2, but not from a standing start. if i try it its basically a matter of luck/timing to the point where its not worth it to me to use these attacks.

Go ds4 it’s got better support

what game

D-pad sucks

What you linked is actually a great controller for cheap. I've had two of those for years.

Underage detected. Old logitech products are undisputed kings of quality. Pic related in OP post is a pretty old one too.

Using input mapper? Mine works flawlessly with all 3 DaS titles.

Protip incoming...

>chink-made 360 controllers
>10 bucks a pop on eBay
>buy a bunch of them and when one kicks the bucket after a year or so you keep the spare parts for the next one.

I use them since 07 and coulnd't be happier with price, comfort and durability.

What's the problem with the xbone controller? It is not very expensive and it's good quality. D-pad is shit though

>Old logitech products are undisputed kings of QUALITY
ftfy

I have an F310 and it's been good to me for like three years now. I love it's D-Pad and buttons but I don't like the back triggers as they dig into my fingers.

There is a switch on the back of the controller. It sounds like you need to flip it for that game.

any dark souls

I had an f310 for a few years, great price given the quality. Not an amazing controller, but cheap enough that it doesn't really matter. Also, the dinput/xinput switch on the back lets you play older games that you can't using newer controllers.
After mine broke I started using my DS3s and DS4s.

...

my ps4 controller works flawlessly

ty i will try this

It's cheap, but it gets the job done.

This, the older variations of Logitech controllers are good quality and were fantastic for emulation. The newer shit is hot garbage and you might as well get a DS4 controller if you like that configuration.

What's wrong with the xbox one? I'm trying to decide between the two controllers.

If you actually like the feel of Psx or Ps2 controllers go with this.
I absolutely love it and it works great for fighting games. It also requires no installation
just plug that motherfucker in and play.

>M$ shit?
I don't know what your problem with it is, but the newer xbone controllers are god tier.

xbox one is the best controller if you don't play fighting games

Nothing, just that is expensive.

...

>No variable input triggers
>Terrible reliability issues, mainly with solder points on the board.
>Absolute disgrace to the Hori brand

It's shit.

normal hands = ds4
tiny handlet hands = ds3

I kinda broke one bumper on my F310, but I guess I used it more than any other button. Got the new one recently and it feels good. Also MGR didn't allow me to activate ripper mode, but I think it's a problem with a game, since most other games work fine.

Steam Controller is an obvious choice, but its a min/max design that's far better than traditional gamepads for some games, and worse than a traditional gamepad in others.

The 8bitdo controllers seem like decent all around (if leaning towards retro gaming) choices.

I use a Steampad and a cheap Buffalo SNES pad. Seems a good compromise for what I like to play, and they're frequently on sale for much less than a standard gamepad costs today.

Track pads were a mistake. It's great for RTS games though.

you get what you pay for
you're gonna use it for hundred of hours you really shouldnt be skimping out over it to save 10 bucks

i've been using a ds3 for years

Best controller for fighting games? Is the xbox 360 one any good?

This is my controller.
R8 & h8

>Best controller for fighting games? Is the xbox 360 one any good?
Hell no, 360 dpad is atrocious. I don't know about the best pad, but ds3/4 and xbone all have better dpads

My dualshock 4 shit out on me, so I recommend either Dualshock 2 via Or OP's pic, the F310 is pretty damn good, can't beat the price. Any 3d games I would go with the 360 controller, very reliable and works well.

If sony ever makes a wired dualshock 4, I will snatch it up.

>wired dualshock 4
can't you just use a micro usb cable?

use a saturn pad if you don't want a fightstick

Shhh that's too much to ask of him.

DS3 is cheap and reliable with SCP.

You can, it's not perfect but it works. I know some people reported input lag with the PS4 controller, all I know is mine was having a lot of issues disconnecting when it was wireless.

I think the new one at least fixed some issues with input lag while it's being connected.

This is why Sup Forums is shit, people make assumptions.

How is the d-pad in those? I'm going to play emulators too and it would be nice if the d-pad was actually usable instead of always going with the analog stick.

What's wrong with it for fighting games? Played a ton of Tekken 7 on one. The d-pad is not total shit like the 360 controller.

Use Saturn or a similar "6 front button" layout.

Hori makes them. Hori Fighter, something like that.

This
I've been using my DS3 for pc gaming for 11 years. Still works great and I don't notice any battery problems the times I rarely use the Trey

Messed up the math, 9 years actually.

How do I avoid it constantly disconnecting for a second and reconnecting at random moments? I want to like this controller but every time I end up walking off a cliff I feel like squeezing it until it explodes.

>Track pads were a mistake.
No, they're great. The mistake was abandoning the ambidextrous design, replacing the second four button cluster with the analog stick.

They should have stuck with this design, or replaced one of the sets of four buttons with a traditional d-pad.

direction pad is good but it's placement causes the thumb to hurt after some hours of playing, it's too low

DS4's dpad is good
Xbone's dpad is good too, but diagonals can be hard to activate
