I'll be honest with you guys, don't actually buy V2R, it's not worth it, in fact it's garbage, you know how V2 added lots of new assets, had much better lightning effects that made all models "pop" and look better, had a slightly more balanced combat and best story so far? Yeah V2R is the exact same game all over again, maybe with some additional particle effects added to each map to make it look "new", and the combat is even less balanced than ever before, you know how HDN1 was "every battle is Neptune Break"? V2R is "every battle is counter", get 4GO instead, gift V2 to your friend, anything just don't get this one

I don't understand. VII came out in 2015 in Japan and 2016 everywhere else. Thats way too soon for a remake. I like the Nep games but I wish they would put some fucking effort into them for a change.

Vert and Noire are secondary mains and they got replaced. Much as you might not want to admit it, she's got as much chance of being replaced as any of the other VAs.

No. Aside from completely fucked up battle mechanic and a few extra 3d cutscenes in Zerodimension there isn't really anything new. In fact, it has even less content than VII due to the old DLCs not being present.

The game is essentially just a remake of nep7 that was also on the ps4 but it's made using a different engine and has vr tact on as a bonus.

So it's not like its a full fledged vr game if that's what you're thinking.

It's VII with some graphical changes, some in-engine cutscenes added, some minor combat changes, and about 10 VR events for each of the main goddesses

VII is the best game in the main series without a doubt. Which isn't exactly an amazing title to have, but it genuinely improved on most aspects to varying degrees coming from Victory, ranging from minor improvements to gameplay to the soundtrack being AMAZING in places.

VIIR is just VII with VR stuff added, and some changes to gameplay and presentation try and justify it being a full rerelease. I can't speak for it being better or worse than the original VII though.

Why wouldn't it? Neptunia is by far the most popular thing Idea Factory has going on the west. What else would they port to try making Neptunia numbers? Genkai Tokki? Don't make me laugh.

On Japan, VIIR did better than ADF, and Neptunia is even more popular than Fairy Fencer on the west than what it is on Japan, so the numbers are expected to be even higher for VIIR.

It's not that popular when compared to titles that sell million copies or more like most AAA games, but it's definetly more popular than any waifu games, maybe DoA being the only exception, probably not anymore. And the popularity it got is mostly because of the concept. It's a parody, so it appeals to gamers, and also a waifu game,s o appeal to weebs, and it's also pretty cheap on sales. It will be ful price, have no doubt about that. And it's Neptunia, it has a pretty large cult, so it will definetly sell well for them either way. And that's what bothers me. It seems they are getting lazier and lazier everytime.

Just a side note, there were a good chunk of changes though, mostly on the gameplay department and lightning visuals department, but there is also ranked battles as post game, where you can compete with other players to see who goes furthest/deals more damage/clears missions faster.

The additions are listed on the announcement and official page, and it's not worth it for a full price with no real solid content being added. All this is, is seriously, a way for them to recoup the costs of creating the new engine they have for going forward on the PS4 and the additional hires they added over the past year.

For me it is. Some extra VR scenes, a completely different combat, bounties, more quests, new graphics, etc. The game is gonna last for 50 hours at least, so it's worth 50 dollars. That's how I see it. Also, there is no doubt I will enjoy the game, since VII is one of my favorite JRPGs of the last decade, and VIIR combat is meant to be better. yes, I know counter is broken, so I'll just ignore it if I want to.

Word of warning though, they're not interactive scenes beyond every 2 or so videos either shaking your head 'yes' or 'no. Most of them vary from 2-5 minutes on length, and are mostly as nonsensical as the series is usually.
