Dark Souls 1. By far. People have such rose tinted glasses for it. An interconnected world isn't worth shit if the second half is complete trash. 2 is unironically better.

I don't understand the whole thing with the sewers. Its not confusing and its not that hard. The only problem I can see is not having enough blood.

Why is it so bad?

My problem is that everything from the sewers onwards becomes quite tedious. The combat in the game isn't fun and unfortunately it gets a much stronger focus, whereas before I was sneaking through most of the game. I was incredibly invested before it, but in both my playthroughs I lost a ton of interest around that segment of the game (from the moment they introduce those strange head demon things).
