Xillia 2's main game is horrible, the game only gets good after you beat it

Berseria is not better than either of them but it's a good start after Zestiria being fucking horrible.

Man this game had its moments but the BR micromanagement ruined it for me. Apparently they fixed it somewhat on PC but I absolutely hated that it would gimp your lategame recruits unless you avoided grinding as long as possible.

the base combat system is really fun and should've become standard for jrpgs
just too bad about the magic grind, especially for water magic. i got pretty much all the way to the end of the game without learning any water spells past the basic heal because if you make proper use of cancels you'll never get hit in the first place.

Vesperia feels wrong when you've gotten used to total freedom, but when you learn how to play it, it's amazing.

Apparently there is something about the way Vesperia is coded that makes it very tough to emulate. Every single time someone brings up emulating the game prepare for some guy to post a fucking essay telling you the game will never be emulated and any proof shown to the contrary to be ignored or called fake. Are Xillia 2 and Vesperia the only games that let you do crazy combos on bosses?

I just started Rebirth and I'm trying to understand the combat system but it's proving to be quite hard since I don't know Japanese very well.

I reckon the four squares are like the artes cooldown displayers and artes deal more damage if the square is full but what's the purpose of the vertical gauge next to them?

the PC version is the Superior version ,pick it up on a steam sale. I beat it at least 8 times Super fun
