I've been using NeoGaf for years, and I don't see why it's hated so much. The rules were simple, it's not like they banned people at random. All you had to do was not being an asshat, use coherent arguments and not act like a cheap troll. College-level discourse was abundant, if not required. Honestly, the quality and depth of the discussions was much bigger than what you could find on Reddit or Sup Forums. There was a sense of belonging and community like people posting anonymously all the time would never understand. Far from being an echo-chamber, the place had more diversity than anything you can find here.
