Sim city
No bullshit here, you really play that version of Sim city?
SC4D is unironically the best citybuilder ever made.
You misspelled "SimCity 2000".
This one.
Also cities skylines is certainly, have you tried it user?
SC4 shits on Cities skylines in the sim part
skylines is only good for designing and painting.
Nah senpai, SC4D has unsurpassed sim action and by far the most mod support.
How so? I felt it was lacking when it released and was the only 'new' option.
Unironically this.
Is simtropolis still active?
Honestly bummed, maxis is disbanded and we'll never see another good tower simulator.
>tower simulator.
Maxis didn't even make SimTower. They just rebranded same Jap's game.
...
Truth be told i can't sustain it.
I don't care what anyone else thinks. I think SimCity Societies was fun.
How the fuck do I make big cities? No matter how many highways I build and how close my industry is to my residential I always end up getting commute too long bullshit and buildings being abandoned once I reach ~500k. I never have that in SC3000 oder Skylines
Game is too hard nigga
>oder
How the FUCK did that happen I'm not even posting from phone
Get Network Addon Mod.
I used to play this game a lot in the editor and i had no idea what i was doing when i was 8
Haven't really played SC4 in a few years, been getting the feeling to get into it again. Something about Cities Skylines just doesn't do it for me.
Skylines is better in any way tho
...
>surely the recently discovered NES version of SimCity will be dumped!
...
no
Before my HDD died I had a pretty big region going
I even gave every area a name
What the best city builder? I'd like lots of buildings by options if possible, but also be able to follow people around like some invisible god.
>commercial directly adjacent to residential
>city hall on a side street next to ordinary houses
>neighborhood immediately spills into farmland
The backalley garages are cute, tho.
I love Sim City. But Sim City 4 has a ton of problems. Chief among them how it crashes with large cities and multi-core processors. And cutting cities into smaller areas. Endless tie ins with The Sims. And missions are broken beyond hell. It was a sign of how EA was ruining the series.
Sim City 3000 Unlimited was clearly the best Sim City game. It just didn't have as many building types as Sim City 4.
skylines is the game for you friend
Hey, I made that region. Your city looks very nice.
I have many examples of areas like that in my hometown. It's not as strange as you make it out to be. I do also really like the alley props.
Is Sim City: The Sim City not shit yet?
Not yet!
Idk, it was rare even in bumblefuck nowhere for "downtown" to be directly adjacent to agriculture without a tree buffer of some sort. We had a lot of old houses next to new stripmalls, though. I just think it looks bad. This one's great, btw. Only criticism is how dense the foliage is along the tracks.
All of that is utterly common in Greater Iowa
Cuz the traffic on skylines is pure and utter buggy ass, which is a big flaw in a game that's primarily a traffic sim.
Sc4 isn't much better though, after a couple of hours you learn the optimal layout for neighborhood layouts and just repeat the same city block square to infinity.
Sc2013 isn't bad now that five years on the bugs n shit are fixed, but it's an EA game so there's no modding community
I just want Banished crossed with Settlers 2 and 50x the content.
All the more reason to forgo incorporating it into your city planning. Roadmaps of midwestern "cities" are so depressing.
o-oldshoes!? you're still around!?
Too easy to navigate for you?
Thank you! I still disagree about the adjacency, I live in a coastal rural area.
If I had SC4 with Skylines type traffic it would be prime. SC2013 will always be dead to me solely because of the city sizes, what a joke.
Hello. It is me, oldshoes!
It turns out I actually still have my SC4 saves. But I don't think I could ever go back to it after playing Skylines. Even if the simulation is a bit casualized the visuals and customization in Skylines are so much more robust
I wish /cbg/ was still around.
...
i love skylines because i can build enormous urban sprawl stepford wives bubble communities because they are spooky as fuck.
sc4 was great but my old xp machine's hdd failed that had it installed with 8902385290582908 mods and dependencies and i dont even know where to begin to find them all again.
...
...
>that water colour
...
What's wrong with it? I like cariblue.
...
Looks like it's got massive amounts of radiation or something.
>streetston
>Union City
>Mill town
top kek mate , cool looking region though
Geronimo bay
God that parking lot would be hell on a busy weekend
that's almost comfy enough to be a wallpaper
>Columbia
That was a fun region to play around in when I first discovered NAM. Went completely ham cramming the entire region with transportation networks just to see what worked and what didn't.
I still remember posting on /cbg/ a long time ago
fun fact: i'm the user who made this gif. The loop was made by complete luck, i did only one take and found out that it was a perfect loop like a week later.
