Loot boxes

Who exactly are the people buying loot boxes?

Enthusiasts despises them, yet I can't see Chad buying them either as he doesn't care enough about games to buy them.

The answer is simple.

Autism.

I spent $100 on them so I can get all the skins I want.

I work 6 days a week, I'll never unlock them the regular way, so as far as I'm concerned, they're holding the MUH FASHION content of the game in ransom.

Also, I've long given up on voting with my wallet.

Children with very rich parents who let them buy whatever they want and children with parents who's credit cards are overdrawn.

Why don't people just use their Debit cards?
I use my Credit Card to order Pizza once a month, just to appease the credit faggots.

Retards shouldn't be allowed to have kids, imo.

I could understand buying crates in TF2 or CSGO, since there are super rare items that you can trade. But why would anybody want to buy Overwatch skins?

Because it's fucking gambling. There's studies about this. Getting good shit makes you happy and want more, and it's all the more satisfying when it isn't guaranteed.

me because i rarely actually play the game

>Why don't people just use their Debit cards? I use my Credit Card to order Pizza once a month, just to appease the credit faggots.

Why even use a credit card at all? I never understood the need for one, unless you are one of those who spend more than you have, which is just stupid.

I should probably do that my credit rating is probably terrible. I don't even have a credit card, I just use debit and try to keep around 2 grand in my account.

>Golden horse armor was 8 bucks.
>that super lego my eggo rare skin from the lootbox might take 80 bucks to obtain through a lottery system

Gaming had the opportunity to stop this when they started the DLC shit in 2007~
>if you don't like it don't buy it
Now look. It will only get worse.

Well you have to build credit. People look at that shit before they rent you apartments and whatnot.

>keeping money
>not just blowing it on worthless bullshit
you're gay

>I never understood the need for one

Credit score. The juden master want proof of how good of a goy you are in consuming and paying back before they can give you a predatory loan

I buy these loot shits in OW/Dota etc.
I never buy them for the stupid gambling shit, though. I just want to get a specific item and once I have it, that's that.

What? This must be an American thing, right? I never heard of that here.

In my country they just make sure you have enough of an income that you can pay rent, nothing else.

Honestly, I know you're just memeing, but it's the Baby Boomers as a whole that are to blame. They're the ones who set the Credit meme trend. Thankfully, we're beginning to come off it. Credit is starting to get looked at a lot less and millenials generally aren't defaulting on reckless use of credit cards.

People with significant disposable income, user. People spend money on lots of silly things when they have a lot of it. Consider, people will drop thousands of dollars extra to buy a car that is marginally better or more luxurious in some way than another car. Or an extra grand on a TV that has ever so slightly higher definition. In that context, dropping $100 to improve some game experience in a minor aesthetic way is pretty much par for the course, particularly if someone is a big fan of said game and will get in a lot of hours.

Personally I play a lot and get my lootboxes and credits just through play. So lootboxes don't affect my life. It is admittedly a little unsavory that 12 year olds are running of mum and pa's credit cards for loot boxes while Bliz profits, but eh.

Literally all you would ever need credit for is a loan for a house or business. Literally everything else in life should be easily payable in full including any vehicles you want.

I suppose so. It's just a retarded cultural thing that emerged in the late 1900's. I don't think banker jews even played a big role in this one, it's just Baby Boomers and their retarded Generation X kids being stupid with their credit cards, so people starting taking credit reports seriously.

Hotels and rental cars usually only take credit cards.

Its a hilariously american thing, yes.

Even though canada imports americanisms in bulk, we've mostly evaded credit scores for stupid shit like renting.

I don't buy them, they are just a unlock system.

Personally I do also hate them, I wouldn't mind if when I level I got a box, but if I finish a match I also got gold.

That way I could buy my shit I want without having to just focus on grinding levels.

Sorry I'll start buying fuckdolls right now.

Some things can only be paid with credit cards.
If I wanna buy train tickets online in my country, you need a credit card for example.

Never needed to use a rental car but I've never had a hotel not take my debit card

Unironically, whales, a few, less than 5% of the player pop, spending massive amounts of money on anything related to a game.

middle and upper-middle class casual gamers with actual jobs.

when you're an adult and making an adult income, it's not a huge deal to drop 20-50 bucks now and then on a game.

oh, and also gambling addicts. those people are completely fucked by an as-of-yet unregulated lootbox business model built to exploit people with poor impulse control.

people who do not care all that much about the game but have too much money to spend
I have a friend from norway, he still lives with parents (trying to buy a house) and earns shitton of money working in the harbour.
So randomly when he starts a new game he is like "oh, there are micro transactions, lets just buy a 50 EUR worth of shit

As long as you only keep a revolving balance (pay the entire balance every month), some credit cards give you bonuses like cash back or free flights or hotel stays.

I'm in my 30s now and I've never had to use credit for anything, including hotels, car rentals, airplane tickets, train tickets, etc. All of those things work on debit just fine. The only thing I can think of that would be almost impossible without credit would be buying a new car, house, boat, or some other very large purchase, all of which are financially unsound decisions in today's economy.

>when you're an adult and making an adult income, it's not a huge deal to drop 20-50 bucks now and then on a game.
I make decent scratch working CCTV but you can fuck right off if you think I'm paying extra on top of the entry price for the game. I don't bust my ass doing this shit to get double dipped by faggots wanting money for old rope.
