Will Fortnite be the death of PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds?
PUBG vs Fortnite

I doubt it will kill off PUBG. But once Fortnite gets tweaked to perfection and adds more maps and shit, it will certainly be superior.
No, but it won't die unless the devs fuck it up.
Fortnite's art-style looks bloody awful
H1z1 is still better than fortnite.
What's wrong with with it
disagree, i think it looks great. the night transition is also awesome.
this alone will put off alot of people, especially normies
These games have been made to death. It's a shitty style of gameplay. Not sure why anyone likes it, or why pubg blew up like it did. H1z1, day z, and the endless supply of these games are all the same. Play something half decent.
Looks better in-game than it does in the promos, it's way less visually saturated and obnoxious looking than what the OP pic, for instance, makes it seem.
It's just to cartoony for my taste, not that PUBG looks terrific either mind you. (should also mention that i have no interest in either of the games so my oppinion probably doesn't count for much)
If it gets a decent fps mode it might have some players. Will it kill PUBG? No, this trash game has too many players now.
my friends either love it or hate it
blizzbabies love it, jaded hurrcurr gamers hate it
I don't really give a shit either way tho
Amount of Battle Royal Games: 4
Amount of MOBAs: Dozens
Amount of RTSs: hundreds
Amount of FPSs: thousands
Amount of RPGs: tens of thousands
it's hilarious how sonybros act as if they compete when in reality PUBG is universally agreed as the best
It looked awful when I saw someone play it, reminded me of Battlefield Heroes.
Then I played a few rounds and actually liked it. I don't need to put my face 4 inches from a 4k monitor to see 3 pixels of slightly off color brown to identify enemies. Everything is much clearer. I also hear it runs on toasters.
>H1z1, day z, and the endless supply of these games
haha, you ran out of things to say because there's only like 4 or 5 and you pretend there's shit loads more, why? is it cool?
no
This
They don't compete. If you have pubg you play pubg, if you don't you play fortnite
I've played both and PUBG is certainly a better game overall, but I'd never pay money for something I intend to play once or twice a week at most.
No because it's not on Steam. Joe Normie doesn't even know this game is a thing.
Pubg is a blight on my backlog of singleplayer games.
yes
the building part is meh, rarely ever need to use it and not especially fun
gunplay is complete shit, everything about it feels bad
it looks nice, though, and runs well; which is it's biggest positive over pubg
the gunplay specifically, but also the map; makes me choose pubg over fortnite every day of the week
however, i have more friends who play fortnite regularily, so i tend to play that more recently
delet this
>it runs on toasters
me and so many poorfags are v grateful for this.
it's one of the best games I've played all year
don't forget about the console babbies who don't know that steam is a thing,
fortnite has a hold on consoles and pubg can never touch that playerbase
fortnite gunplay can be really awesome at times and very shitty at times, pubg has ADS, vehicles, and a lot more gun variation, but you need a serious computer to run efficiently
building in fortnite is honestly for the pros; it's the best thing fortnite has over pubg apart from being extremely polished, loading into games takes seconds and there's rarely any frame dips or even lag. deaths feel fair for the mot part and playing with teams is better than in pubg.
fortnite is 8.5/10
pubg 7/10
Fortnite will keep growung and pubg will keep shrinking, but not because of eachother. Because of bad and good devs.
Playerunknown is a pussy cunt and i want him to fail
okay, shill. 10 cents deposited. only nine more for a full dollar! don't spend it all in one place now!
When has PUBG shrunk?
sep 23/24 and oct 17/18
I have PUBG and fortnite.
PUBG is shit compared to fornite.
I actually agree with this.
PUBG's biggest problems are terrain RNG and network issues.
Fornite is the solution to both of these problems.
Someone give me a guide or something for the pve save the world mode. The more I progress the more fucking confused I am on what I’m doing.
Nah, the gunplay is still terrible and they can both co-exist quite easily anyway.
Exactly. They recovered within a day, indicating that those were just service related issues.
reminds me of wildstar
PUBG doesn't look good either though to be fair, at least Fortnite doesn't really try.
ten more cents deposited. i only do this because Sup Forums is actually naive enough to believe shills
Fortnite is decently fun, just came first for the first time in solo, only thing is I don't have much reason to keep trying to win since all I got was basically a "congrats you won" message at the end
It's much more fun with friends though at least
Battle Royale games is a subgenre though.
wow holy shit too bad the bushes in PUBG are to thin to do this.
You are invisible if you sit in a bush in pugb.
you're thinking of fortnite
Any intelligent player can understand that the enemy may be hiding in the bush though, and can pop a shot off at the bush to check. I don't see how this is a flaw with the game. And there are plenty of legitimate flaws.
No, I'm thinking of pubg. Proper sized bush, and entire squads will spring right past you. I even had a guy that I'm 99% certain clipped me, he didn't even notice.
It hides your silhouette, so if you don't move, players will never notice you.
I don't think that was supposed to be a flaw, that's just showing a really dumb player, like you said.
>just give your position away
Maybe if it was on Steam and had cosmetics that could be traded and sold through the market.
Definitely not in it's current state.
>any intelligent player can make a sound that can be heared kilometers away
>being this smug
>the building part is meh, rarely ever need to use it and not especially fun
holy fuck, literally get good
>playing either
>wow fuck h1z1 pubg more realistic
>wow fuck pubg fortnite is faster and more arcadey
>runs on toasters
Fuck no. Leaving the lobby open is enough to heat up my entire room. I've actually done this when it was really cold once.
Fortnite people are currently throwing money at streamers and Youtubers to play their game. I'm a Rust/ARK youtuber and they're offering most others like me $150 per video(we're small time, bigger youtubers get paid more per) and streamers are being paid in 5 hour sessions, just not sure how much.
No one actually wants to play Fortnite, and most major people you see playing or streaming I guarantee you are being paid.
Post any proof whatsoever
How is Rust, btw? Seems to be the least cancerous of that survival type game and I've been looking to try it.
>nobody got paid to play PUBG
Come on now.
...
>PUBG people are currently throwing money at streamers and Youtubers to play their game. I'm a Rust/ARK youtuber and they're offering most others like me $150 per video(we're small time, bigger youtubers get paid more per) and streamers are being paid in 5 hour sessions, just not sure how much.
>No one actually wants to play PUBG, and most major people you see playing or streaming I guarantee you are being paid.
Fixed your post for you.
against youtube TOS and US law to do this without disclosing it in the description, do your research if you want anyone to believe your bait
I don't get it, what's wrong?
not him but it's a very fun game with a terrible community, russian griefers, cheaters and almost everyone will kill you on site regardless of whether you have anything they want. Unless you hide your base well or work in a group your shit will get destroyed the first time you log out
Did anyone else notice that half of the shit in this picture is not even in the game?
Rust is maybe the most consistent. Its mechanics feel the most grounded, they update the game regularly and aren't afraid to admit an idea doesn't work and will completely rework a system because of it.
I never said no one gets paid to play PUBG, but PUBG's popularity grew naturally.
>being this naive
Like what?
>throw a bunch of money around to ensure your game gets shilled by streamers and youtubers
>claim it grew naturally
You're right though, there wasn't much need for investment past that point.
Penny is thicc.
Who here plays the PVE co-op on PS4? I got a legendary constructer but I've been stuck with awful solo-queue teammates.
The PVE is dead in the water. Drop it now before you regret your time spent when they inevitably kill it.
You ever play pool or minigolf? if an object hits a barrier at an angle like that it shouldn't bounce directly back.
Fortnite is way more fun for me than pubg.
I don't want vehicles, but I think the game would really benefit from maybe a bicycle. It'd fit the theme of the game really well I think
As far as I know PUBG was already pretty popular by the time everyone began getting emails about partnering with Blue Hole. Popular Youtubers were likely always paid to play from the start though.
If you're a twelve year old with your own little Call of Duty 360 no-scope clan Rust is a lot of fun. If you're playing solo it'll be pretty miserable, since everybody shoots on sight. Getting your foot in there door is awful unless you enter a server with people you know.
>epic games is going around offering small youtubers pitiful amounts of cash to play their game
>if they get caught doing this they face prosecution by the FTC
>they have a trust that none of these literal whos will whistle blow
>youtubers go along with this despite knowing they will lose their channel (and likely their source of income) when they could just put one line of text in their description to protect themselves
You're retarded and the fact that you can't post any proof just points to you being a liar, you are 10 years too young to trick me, brainlet
why/how do so many people play this game
Not really. It's gonna be free to play in a year. Plus I always find a full lobby to play in. It's surprisingly active for a early access game on PS4. It's honestly more fun than PVP since there's quite a lot of choice on how you can play.
I like Fortnite because it's quicker, more arcade-y and casual, but that's also why I keep going back to PUBG.
Fortnite is just too casual at times. Also, the building aspect of it is shit. Literally just spam walls and stairs at the end circles.
Fluidity of gameplay
>It's gonna be free to play in a year.
doubtful
They would hemorrhage so many players if that happened
I have no idea why you're being so aggressive, I never said they were paying people under the table, I'm just saying they're paying a ton of people to play their game. Most Youtubers joke about it in their Fortnite videos, and most do post information where it's needed, though not everyone bothers from experience with most paid video content in general. It's not Epic's fault when people act like idiots and don't want to admit they're taking money to make content.
>doubtful
Look it up user, that was the whole plan all along and everyone buying that should know that.
It literally says it in the fucking game you dingus. "Will be free in 2018."
I got a free code and it's not hard to get one. Only people who pay for it want to be better than everyone else and are richfags.
>get BTFO
>shifts goalposts
alright then buddy, guess we're done here
the pve is shit, isn't it?
>you dingus
It's hyped up by streamers and 12 year olds.
It's literally what all the kids are playing.
>getting this upset over a free to play game and someone talking about their marketing
W E W L A D
So post any proof whatsoever
>I got a free code and it's not hard to get one.
Are they being given away somewhere or what?
It's pretty fun actually. The game isn't made to be played for 20 hours straight but a few hours a day, since the daily rewards are pretty big.
It has some fun survivor mechanics and a good mix of characters to play. I have a scavenger/outlander who screams second amendment quotes while he gets ammo, a buff constructor who could impale a fucking whale, and a thicc British constructor.
It's fun, if you can stand the annoying robot you listen to during missions.
>still being unable to post a shred of proof
I can hear the tears dripping off your cheek and onto the keyboard.
If a friend buys the game they get a free code to pass on.
A buddy of mine bought it on sale for 20 bucks or so.
>make things up on Sup Forums
>get called out by someone who knows their shit
>can only respond "umad?"
Pretty pathetic desu
What gives you the impression that the surface of that wall is perfectly smooth?
you think having a friend is not hard? how dare you
Fortnite is literally for children who can't afford a $30 game or whose parents won't let them play a "realisticly violent" pubg compared to a cartoonish Fortnite
I think I have a free code. I bought the deluxe version for 20 bucks and am literally set for the rest of the game. If fortnite had a General on /vg/ I'd give it out
yeah, turns me off big time. Have not formed an opinion yet.
