Does anyone still play this?

Hopefully not.
yes
Both it and Rev 2 are basically dead. Whenever I sign into Rev 2, it is the same fifteen or so people every time and that's it.
Not sure about PC, but during prime time hours on PS4 the first two online lobbies are usually always full or close to it and there's always multiple player lobbies as well. The 2.0 update breathed some life back into it but it will probably dwindle down again by the end of the year.
me, lets play, give me your psn id
No.
so play with the cpu
i dont own the game yet, my amazon order comes in 2-3 days
i just made the thread because i was afraid i wasted my money
Well you definitely did, for what it is worth.
And this is why in scared to try out one of these games. I wanna play it but I don't want to deal with the same 8 guys in multiplayer everyday who have a multiple year headstart in it against me.
Then you should never play an Arcs System Works game, especially this long after launch. Even after just a few weeks, GG boiled down to the same handful of players who were significantly better than everyone else. Just return BB before opening it and wait for DBZ FighterZ. So long as you get that game at launch you stand a chance. It is nearly impossible to get into BB or GG now. You'll have to learn matchups against 30+ characters all with 2 hour long combos and blockstrings and tons of gimmicks.
> bought the game
> worried if money was wasted only later
every time
should i cancel the order
If you have friends, no
CS was the last good BB anyway. It all went downhill with extend.
say no more
mods please delete this thread
If you can yes. Otherwise you can always return it unopened and get a full refund.
I agree. Almost every change they made after that just made the game worse.
if there is still people playing USF4 on PC i'm sure there are way more in Blazblue for the PS4
its weird because around the same time they persona arena came out which was pretty fucking good for a new fighting game and then they promptly ruined it with ultimax.
It wouldnt surprise me if the dragonball game is actually excellent and then gets a really shitty sequel in a year.
This Blazblue and Guilty Gear are not only hard to get into, they're small as hell in their fanbases, I only know both series
Yes. I play it from time to time.
You're kind of an idiot for listening to these posts and ignoring everyone else.
I can consistently play the game at fuck weird times like 1am and play different people every night. There will literally be only 10 people in the open lobby but you find the guy with the best connection and just run 20 sets in a row with him. You don't need to play 20 different people in a row, fighting games aren't like that. That kinda playing is better for improving gameplay and matchup knowledge anyways.
If your on peak times then expect 30-60 people online at once. Don't play ranked matches just play lobby matches, also this is NA on PS4. It's definitely gonna feel weird if you're used to endless matchmaking in a game with thousands of people playing but don't let it scare you. End of the day you can still log on almost any day and play consistently for hours.
Good man.
Yeah Arcs just doesn't know how to improve their games. They just add more arbitrary mechanics and mess with the game balancing, almost always for the worse.
What tier is Hibiki in 2.0?
should i buy it back then? i just want a cute fighting game to play
Ignore that previous post, stay away from BB. The last thing we need is more faggots like you.
High. Top 3 depending on who you ask.
I've been just learning combos with Nu-13 and that already has been frustrating as fuck. I hope when I finally go online (probably soon) it doesn't turn out nobody's playing and my work has gone to waste. I'm in Europe and it's probably worse here than in US?
I do find the game incredibly cool, very aesthetic and lots of cool, contrasting character designs.
im afraid you're too late, i already placed the order before making that post
you've convinced me to follow my heart
I'm EUfag too and it's still alive enough that I can find matches fairly quickly, though I do tend to run into the same people from time to time. There's much less players compared to NA and Japan though.
If it is not Street fighter than it is dead.
As this user says The player base is incredibly small, I honestly regret buying ggx and beyond because the player base got smaller in a matter of days.
It is the same 10 dudes who never change characters. Worst of all for whatever reason the dude who creates the lobbies also likes to stream for the other 2 guys that watch him so everyone flocks in the same fucking cabinet, so matches take fucking forever.
Jokes on you faggot, I'm actually working for Arc. Thanks for the cash fucko.
>People stream while playing a multiplayer online fighting game
That doesn't sound like a good idea
I only play BB if people whine about wanting to play, either on Skype or such or on Sup Forums. I prefer CP over CF.
>I prefer CP over CF.
Why? I'm only familiar with CF but from a noob's viewpoint CP looks simply like CF but with less stuff.
ill play with you user
What was wrong with just having a couple of bursts you needed to manage throughout the match? I hate Overdrive, and the other random mechanics they added like Guard Crushes and that Overdrive finisher move.
Active Flow on top of Guard Cancel Overdrive makes Bursting almost irrelevant. BB has always been an extremely offensive game but Bursting has been a core mechanic from the start, and now it's kind of been sidelined.
>Overdrive
>Can do it whenever you're not getting hit
>Pauses the timer
>Lasts an amount of time that scales depending on how much health you have left (amount of time is halved if you cancel into it from a move or in your opponent's blockstring)
>Sets your burst/OD gauge at 30% when it runs out
>Gives you a character specific buff that ranges from meh (Naoto/Noel) to unbelievably fucking good (Hakumen/Izayoi)
>Lets you do Exceed Accel, which instantly gives you Active Flow, which gives you a damage boost and recharges your burst/OD faster
>Burst
>Can only be used to escape blockstrings/combos
>While harder to bait than OD Raid it's much more painful when punished
>Pushes your opponent full screen on hit which is not optimal for a lot of characters, forcing you (and your opponent) to play neutral again
>Sets your burst/OD gauge to ZERO regardless of whether it hits or not
>Doesn't give you Active Flow or anything
I just don't like the pace of the game in CF as much. CP was better about Overdrive because at least there, if you killed someone with your OD, you still had to survive the next round without it or a burst unless it dragged on really long. My main is high tier in this version too so it's not like I'm whining about character changes.
People here seem to have very high requirements for a fighting game to be "alive".
Hakumen is fun
youtube.com
I really don't get it. Realistically, at a local scene, you'll be playing with like the same exact 20-50 dudes consistently depending on the size and popularity of the game. This isn't really any different.
And beyond that there's still major tournaments. I still don't really get what more people need than that. That's plenty for the sake of getting good at and have a good time with the game.
I don't really claim to understand the game but I've watched tons of high-level matches and bursts are used a lot IMO.
I love Mai and her feminine penis!
Worst BlazBlue game ever made
>tfw you Yukikaze through the clock super
I should've saved the replay, I dropped my controller when it happened.
>Worse than CT
You have to go back
opinion discarded
Something something no dub no buy
Yeah. If I can still easily find matches in Tekken Tag 2 - a last gen game people only talk about in past tense if ever and Tekken 7 is already out - it makes me wonder how "dead" all these supposedly "dead" games are.
As somebody who's just getting into Central Fiction and loves the roster, all the Cross Tag Battle hype is quite alienating.
>tfw Es is playable but no one plays this game
It's "better" now because EA was nerfed from being 0 on block (-3 if they instant blocked it, still not enough to punish them) to -10 for most characters, so it's not as good of a reversal. You used to see and still do see people trying to avoid committing too hard with their blockstrings to avoid getting punished by OD Raid, especially against characters with good reversal supers like Tager. When people burst it's usually in the first 15 seconds of the round or when they have as much HP as possible so they can try and regain as much of it as possible using the Active Flow buff. Active Flow is what I really can't stand, when you can use your OD and then get it back in the same round, that doesn't sit right with me.
I agree with pretty all that. I'm less mad about now that they changed Accel to not be +on block but burst steal feels really underpowered. I find that utilizing 50 meter to dead angle (or whatever it's called in BB) is a better option since you can push offense easier afterwards and still have access to OD.
That shoulder bash can be done in blockstun?
>CT
>Bad
I see you hate fun.
Believe in the shortstack! She can be in XTB!
it is not. the worst part is that i actually liked ggxrd but the community itself is fucking retarded in my region. holly fuck .
How so?
You can cancel Hakumen's drive normals into his other specials, so he did 2D > 214D.
>I see you hate fun
No but I do hate Nu. Lambda can stay though.
You can do counters while in blockstun?
The system mechanics are bloated in general. They wouldn't even need a bunch of them if they adjusted the characters properly. Some of them are 100% needed to fight certain characters, while certain characters almost don't get to play the game because of them.
>NRS-tier zoning domination
>fun
People with taste still play the game, yes.
>alienating
Why is that
No, he did 2D in neutral against the beam super, and then cancelled it into 214D, which is a counter special.
Are you asking how they ruined Ultimax coming off of Arena? I guess it would be because, although they killed most of the "Dude just hit them with a sweep and then press 5D" free oki, it became much more of a touch of death game, especially in the 2.0 update we never got thanks to them basically giving Shadow characters access to Heat / Veil Off at any time as long as they have their burst. Oh yeah, they gave them a burst too. Shadow characters don't have bursts in console Ultimax. They're really shit on the console version aside from a few, but that changed in the update and now they've dominated the meta for years.
You're right, I'm phoneposting so I didn't see the animation on my tiny screen, thanks.
My locals play it a lot, as with most anime games. If you want to play online though you need to go find a community to play with via discord or something. Anime has a small player base, and you can't really just queue for matchmaking like sf or smash because they're just not as popular.
>/blaz/
Why hasn't that shithole died yet
All the focus seems to be on CTB rather than CF. Though the worse thing is that I'm worried CTB might kill CF.
>All the focus seems to be on CTB rather than CF
CF came out nearly a year ago, user. You can't fault people for being more hype about an unprecedented crossover title.
>CTB might kill CF
Verdict right now has people questioning the controls over that so unless they pull a miracle and make the game really fun with those controls, I fucking doubt it. For now, it doesn't look all that competitive either. As of right now, you're overthinking it.
CTB will it be more casual and easy?
You can't kill that which has no life.
CTB looks like trash anyways, plays nothing like BB and will probably have like 1/4 of the rooster. That's like thinking MvC would have killed Darkstalkers because it uses the same sprites.
I wouldn't be surprised if it flopped, to be honest, I don't even see where the hype is coming from, seems like your run of the mill kusoge.
CTB is just a reuse asset game like Marvel vs capcom 2. If anything is going to kill CF it's that arcsys wants to move the game up to 3d like guilty gear so they start development for that.
From the current build, indubitably
The game's been out since 2015 and they just released their final update. Now they're focusing on hyping up their new game. This is the last BB game as far as we know, so this should have the most people playing it anyway.
Yeah, I love it. I'm EU PC though, so I only really play against friends or randoms from discords.
Susano'o is my fav
It's fucking pitiful how it even stays afloat. I don't know what the RWBYfags commandeering those threads even want with it when there's nothing going on.
This is pretty much GG XX AC+R so I guess Japan will be playing it until the next game, which can take time since the director only promise to have news about the story in 2 years
should i buy this game?
Are you gonna play it? I imagine you can get it for pretty cheap these days, minus the DLC characters.
By "dead" people probably mean being unable to queue up for ranked at any time and always find a new opponent. If you're willing to use Discord to matchmake you can probably find a bunch of people to play in basically any old shit you want, though.
>I imagine you can get it for pretty cheap these days,
where? certainly not on amazon
It's on sale a lot on PSN if you want to play it there. I bought it last month for $15 in time for Jubei and the DLC was on sale just the other week.
Speaking of I still have to get out of trial mode. Haven't played a single person or AI since getting it.
