Sup fags. Xbox is finally gaining some steam once again, most recently today they have just rolled out retrocompatibility with the original Xbox. I know I'm not the only one who had an Xbox back then, and a big factor and defining player of the Xbox's greatest highs have been none other than Sega.
I don't use social media nor understand how it works really, I'm getting kind of old for that. But besides emailing their support, what would be the best way to get their (Sega and Microsoft) attention, asking them to port over games like Jet Set Radio Future, Shenmue 2, Sonic Heroes, Otogi and Otogi 2, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, Sega GT 2002, and more to Xbox One? Isn't this something we could all rally behind, whether you hate Xbox or love it?
>Bone gets retrocompatibility with previous console games >those games will never be released even on steam
Better for them to forget about that
Julian Carter
>Otogi and Otogi 2 I fucking WISH.
Gabriel King
>xbox one is STILL not hackable even tought every single console can be used as a devkit
What the actual fuck is with that?
David Wright
Has nothing to do with devkit access, and everything to do with the system not allowing kernel access in a simple manner. Also no one cares enough about it. There's a reason it took years after geohot got smacked the fuck down for anyone to bother hacking the ps3.
Luke Martin
>Midnight Club 3 Remix >Unreal Championship 2 >MechAssault I NEED THEM
Kevin Young
>sega ditches the dreamcast and goes third party >makes yakuza a playstation 2 exclusive >its a huge success and spawned several sequels >make the first smb a gamecube exclusive >its a huge success and spawned several sequels >make jsrf, shenmue 2, otogi, and several other titles xbox exclusive >they all sold like shit and sega has never made a sequel to them i wonder if sega regrets making that deal with microsoft
Gabriel Russell
Will MS make another voting system for the OG titles? I have a feeling that they won't.
Owen Smith
What's with all the XBox shilling today?
Daniel Green
>shilling >being this upset that people can dig their old games out and run them at better frame rates and resolutions for free
Ahhh yes. I see that you know your Sony well
Angel Wood
>JSR, Otogi, Panzer Dragoon, Outrun dead >stuff like Guardian Heroes is live exclusive(yeah, treasure game)
Fuck this. Shenmue only got back because of a kickstarter, if that was still under microsoft it would be dead.
Liam Parker
>for free
Samuel Foster
let us understand the concept of love
Elijah Lopez
>can't do anything but brag about play old-ass games because it's library is dead
Sad!
Joseph Davis
Old games are better than new ones. What will it be for you sir? Some shitty anime game of the week? Some politically correct SJW driven western shovelware? The latest and greatest FPS, now with loot boxes and pink dildo camouflage for your gun?
Both Sega and Microsoft made a full effort to prop up the Xbox library. Microsoft tried extremely hard with the 360 in the beginning to win over Japan and they still went for the barren PS3 over 360 because of nationalistic traits. Sometimes it's really not the corporation, sometimes the consumer is just that stupid or blinded.
Isaac Hughes
>Old games are better than new ones
I guess this would be the case for XBone, that doesn't have new games.
Levi Powell
I still have my Xbox because I'm not a filthy fucking casual who throws shit out for the next shiny thing he's being advertised, why would I give a fuck about this?
I guess if there's some renewed interest in JSR we might get another one. Or Gun Valkyrie.
Jordan Johnson
>Old games are better than new ones. so just play it on old hardware? why buy and support a modern console when you hate modern gaming?
Grayson Garcia
>I still have my Xbox >I'm not a filthy fucking casual lol
Isaac Brown
>Throwing away old games because your buddies at the frat don't talk about them anymore
Landon Bailey
i still have them
Christian Jackson
Just because you don’t care about it, doesn’t mean other Xbox One users don’t. Some people may have had to sell their older systems or had their older systems brake on them. It’s a good way to let people play games they missed playing or missed out on originally.
Noah Bennett
I see. So then were you implying you're not an idort, then?
Brandon Bell
You could buy something used you know?
So what bad anime game, SJW game, or loot box open world game are you playing this holiday my good man?
Blake Jenkins
spew more buzzwords
Carter Walker
Got an answer yet or not?
Joshua Long
If you put the disc in, it's free. Dumbass.
Liam Edwards
Well, you can run them a lot better.
Isaac Watson
I'm currently playing Yakuza 6.
Gabriel Perry
The console isn't free, and buying an XBone to play old games is extremely retarded.
Josiah Nelson
>console isn't free
I guess people are either out of arguments or just plain lazy.
Noah Kelly
Pot Kettle
XBone has no fucking games. It's sad they have to rely so heavily on backwards compatibility.
Adam Hughes
>Sometimes it's really not the corporation, sometimes the consumer is just that stupid or blinded Why haven't we dropped the third nuke on them yet?
Blake White
>The console isn't free HANG ON ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT A VIDEO GAME CONSOLE COSTS MONEY
NO REALLY? HUH
I THOUGHT WE LIVED IN A SOCIALIST HEAVEN WHERE EVERYTHING WAS FREE
Camden Collins
No way am I getting any xbone in this day and age. Microsoft is a huge reason why so much of gaming has gone down the shitter. I'll stick to my og xbox to play any games from it there. Still though, to anybody that has an xbone, hopefully you get to enjoy some of the games that made the original xbox so good.
Nathaniel Gomez
>Microsoft is a huge reason why so much of gaming has gone down the shitter love this meme
Lincoln Green
So not just a bad anime game, but a bad cinematic anime game. Very nice!
Dominic Rivera
Not him, Microsoft locks most of their games in a shitty ass store that no one but a fucking retard uses. When people play Xbox games, they mostly play them on Xbox, BC is just a bonus. Sony got jack shit because all of their games are really on PC not locked in an OS in some shitty store. the games it does have are garbage sjw movies so that no games argument on Xbox doesn't really work when no one gives a shit about Windows 10 games except assblasted Sonyroaches.
Carson Garcia
At least you tried.
Mason Clark
>Microsoft is a huge reason why so much of gaming has gone down the shitter. That sounds absolutely retarded
Leo Davis
They'll give you the full diatribe with meme arrows shortly.
David Howard
Although not wrong.
Juan Jones
M$ are cancer. Not only with bullshit like popularizing paid online, and shit like Kinect, but with GFWL.
Josiah Myers
One of those paved the way for Steam as we know it though.
Hunter Davis
I'd rather have PC ports of all those Japanese games
Colton James
Of course you would, so you can shit on Xbox for not being able to keep the only exclusives they had, fuck off PC fag.
Jason Jones
Super Monkey Ball got ported to PS2/Xbox with all the levels from 1&2 plus about 100 more bonus levels. It's a GameCube timed exclusive at best
Connor Jones
>MS has to resort to releasing previous gen games to sell their consoles
why not just pull an NES/SNES Mini and just release an OG xbox mini with modern hardware? I reckon the manufacturing cost wouldn't be as high.
Dylan Johnson
I own a hacked OG Xbox, you console warring troglodyte. I just want to play the games at their full potential.
Grayson Lopez
Then play them on Xbox One, the full potential is already there, now once again, fuck off PC fag.
William Perry
Sony has been doing for about a year with ps2 classics on the ps4. Only difference is i don't have to buy the same game again
Levi Collins
But wouldn't that make the consumer re-buy all those games they may already have? Or even worse, pay for the games they may not even want.
Kayden Thompson
because then you will have poeple bitching on why they arent on the xbox one
Jason Rogers
it has been hacked. there are a fuckload of emulators on the xbox via the devkit mode now. a good example is the dreamcast emulator.
although there are emulators which are built straight into apps too like the psx and n64 emulators which are hidden in a pdf reader in the app store
Camden Diaz
I meant when you look at console gaming. They're the ones that popularized paid subscriptions just to play online. That alone is enough to blame them for what console gaming has become.
Ryan Gomez
paid online was the best thing to happen to online gaming. everyone already knows big companies like EA and their fifa series, Activison and COD etc were planning on pay to play schemes for their games. hell, EA still tried it with an online pass for fifa and battlefield games but they realised nobody would pay extra on top of the $30 a year they're already paying for xbl so they ditched it. i'd rather pay $30 a year to play online in every console game available than having to pay $15-30 for each games online pass individually.
I'm sure they'll go BC. Sega owned games like Bayonetta, Catherine, even fucking Virtual On are BC on the 360 side. They said there won't be more OG Xbox games until Spring 2018, so let's hope we're getting a big batch. I'm sure most of Sega's games will be in there.
Matthew Watson
i cant imagine playing virtual on a controller
Austin Phillips
Yeah... my point was though, is that they won't skip putting their OG Xbox games on BC because "they're too niche" or anything. And seeing as JSRF was a pack in title for a while, as long as there isn't a music licensing issue, I'm sure we'll see it in the next batch. Probably with a couple other Sega games.
Tyler Cooper
I'm surprised that they got these games out so fast. I wasn't really expecting any OG Xbox BC until the end of the year or early next year. I hope they give us some hints as to what's coming so I can find some games on the cheap.
Jace Hernandez
>unironically owning an xboxone
Nathaniel Powell
its not like they are making anything else for the system
David Edwards
It's ok, I ironically own an Xbone.
Jaxon Mitchell
Which app on the store has the n64 emu?
Nathan Russell
Bought JSRF and Orta to play them in my 360. No need to get a Xbox One.
Benjamin Brooks
I might buy an Xbox used on the cheap at the end of the gen to play classic Xbone games, Master Chief collection, and sunset overdrive
looks like it got removed from the store. however you can still use it in development mode. i just signed up myself took like 5 mins and is free (for now)
Yup. Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is the GOAT, needs to happen with the next update
Colton Kelly
Where the hell do I enter my code that MS gave me
Nathan Rodriguez
>being dense
just follow all the steps. fill in your details and whatnot and the final step will be billing and you enter it in the promo code field.
Jayden Stewart
I closed that page by mistake and don't know how to get back to it. The link is gone
Matthew Sanders
>not instead asking Sega to just port these to PC instead so you can play it at whatever crazy resolution you desire
Jack Sanchez
>implying they are allowed to
Zachary Allen
just restart the process. log out. start from the beginning of logging into the dev centre
Luke Cooper
Please God, let the hacking scene form around the Bone. It's 2017 and we STILL don't have a decent OG emulator. The shit runs perfectly and is already written for x86 and Direct 12, it's already half way done.
Julian Hughes
>playing video games on a spreadsheet machine
I hope you guys don't do this.
Isaac Baker
I'd love Burnout 3.
Jeremiah Baker
Do I have to buy these?
Juan Edwards
if you don't want to/can't use the dev kit method then yeah some are available hidden in paid apps. but you can just get them for free too via the dev mode
Joshua King
The website lists them as paid though. How do I get them free?
Christian Morales
i'll let you figure that out bud
Lincoln Gutierrez
I saw they have the xbox orgonal games downloadable also on the 360, but I'm hesitent since the 360 didnt play orginal xbox games very well for the most part. so are the digital version any different then sticking a disk of the same game in or not.
Eli Jackson
If I'm following you correctly, I think you're asking that if you download the 360 version, will it be the same as the Xbox One version? If that's what you're asking, then yes, yes it will be the best version. I had NGB downloaded on my 360 and it popped up on my games list on my Xbox One.
Wyatt Peterson
yes because it can take advantage of the extra processing horsepower of the newer console so you end up with much better framerates on average and you also get forced v-sync and 16x anisotropic filtering. that's without the crisp 1080p upscale. i was playing rdr on the xbox one and it looks much crisper on my 1080p tv than the 360 did and that's probably down to the superior scaler within the xbox one which doesn't over sharpen.
Matthew King
Its much better. Runs like it did at first with only graphics enhancements
Liam Brooks
they dont need to even port them. just re-release the original game, lel
