Is he right?

...

of course

Yes. There's not any real innovation anymore. The market is too saturated with too many games, and many are just too similar to even distinguish from the others.

Developers aren't willing to take big risks anymore because it's all about making as much money as possible on a huge budget with massive advertising.

Yes

Oddly, yes.

Yeah, pretty much.

I would only clarify that the (gameplay) difference between Halo 1 and 2 was bigger than 2 and 3.

Sure, sequels are popular with publishers because it's a lot cheaper than making new IPs, you can sell them for the same price and it piggybacks on the previous game's popularity so it's guaranteed sales even if it sucks.

Aboslutely.

Seems that way. A month ago I was like "Wait Destiny 2 is out?" Looked into it to see if they actually made a good game this time around because of the PC release. Turns out NOPE, they literally didn't improve a single aspect from the first one and all its flaws carried over.

No, he's an ignorant idiot that refuses to accept any changes as "real" or "important" so he can instead say he's right.

People make fun of series like MonHun being rehashes but they mix things up more between games than any long-running Western franchise nowadays.

Anyone suprised DSP is right should go back. DSP has patrician vidya industry opinions

He's right about a lot of things in terms of the industry actually. He just happens to be fucking awful at video games.

DSP is a retarded manchild. Why would you listen to anything he says?

I watched a full stream of his when Nioh came out because he was offering a copy of the game. He's one of those people who just kind of lucks his way through games. I always wondered how he actually finished games when he plays like a complete retard, but he somehow stumbles his way through.

Him talking about the industry is perfectly legit though. Not that hard to sound "smart" as long as you state the obvious and don't suck industry dick. The highlight reels of him sucking at games are much funnier than his streams. His stream is pretty normal and watchable compared to most attention whores.

I miss the super scrub street fighter vids that got taken down.

All the new games are exclusive to Nintendo consoles.

Look at Mario Odyssey and BOTW. Look at all the new features and mechanics they added. Metroid Prime 4 and Fire Emblem Switch should be no different. Fuck, Fire Emblem Warriors in and of itself has mind blowing changes to the formula.

dsp chose a terrible example.
Halo 4 is clearly different from 1, 2, and 3. The reason why people don't like halo 4 and 5 is BECAUSE they're too fucking different.

> BECAUSE they're too fucking different.

No, it's because they're different in a shit way.

somehow yes he is actually right, too many games coming out nowadays that are just 60 dollar glorified expansion packs

>MMO gets an expansion
>More of the same
>All is well

>Bungie MMO gets an expansion
>More of the same
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS IS INSANE

He's wrong. Destiny 2 actually has less than Destiny 1 did.

That's what I meant. Sorry I didn't specify.

From what I've seen it isn't really developers. Mainstream users don't want anything new or innovative, they just want the same game with QOL improvements.

This, at least every numbered sequel/generation, they opt to add in at least a new weapon into the mix, along with some sort of gameplay mechanic

>expansion

Didn't destiny have two expansions already? "2" implies something more than an expansion.

Nah, Halo games were basically all the same. Dual wielding in 2 is the only difference I can recall offhand.

>DSP shit talks a game after his game launch view boost has gone down
What a fucking surprise

If you put a "2" at the end of a standalone product and charge $60, that ain't a fucking expansion

dumb 343i apologist

He's comparing Bungie Then to Bungie Now, he chose Halo specifically because it's the same studio.
