Time for a comfy emulation thread

Time for a comfy emulation thread

Can you run F-Zero smoothly? When I tried it in the past I always got issues.

Gonna restart Extermination. Gave it a go the other day but didn't get far with the sped up cutscenes and black screen FMVs. Sorted it now at least

Just began mario galaxy
first time playing it

pretty good so far, having alot of fun just getting the stars.
is 2 better?

Yeah I've got zero issues, I am using an i7-6700k overclocked to 4.5 though so that's pretty much cheating
Honestly I could never get into the Galaxy games, way too linear for me. Don't think I ever even finished Galaxy 2. If you liked the first Galaxy though you'll probably enjoy the second

i have not played 64 or sunshine
are they much better?

64 is a classic and I think you should play it.
Sunshine tried to bring something new and in many regards it's an improvement but in some others the game feels rushed and lacks the polish that other Mario games have.

Not the guy you're replying to.

i'm too scared to download roms because i might get a viruse

My laptop is absolutely basic garbage in specs but I've always wanted to finish TTYD because I was stuck at the end-boss back when I had it for the GCN.

don't worry, you should get over it within a week

I've already called the FBI for thinking about it user, you're screwed

>i'm too scared to download roms because i might get a viruse
>Unironically saying this
Remember when this site had balls?

>emuparadise still doesn't have the fucking first party nintendo ROMs anymore
for fuck sake

been playing metal gear acid on ppsspp on my phone

I like the idea of it, but it's pretty fucking boring.

>still no good citra emulation

I just want comfy handhelds, upscaled in big screen glory. God dammit, it's not fucking fair.

Yee boi

i just want to play pokemon

I can't tell if you're trolling or actually retarded

Some games run just fine on Citra though?

I'm still shit at Godhand

Wish I saw this thread earlier I would have been down for some dolphin mario party 2 netplay.

Almost everyone is, the game at least has a flexible difficulty.

Been thinking of loading up the GC pokemon games. I've been sort of doing a thing where I play all the games and do everything possible to bring the pokemon I love from really old games to be with me in the future.

Is thIIs
IIoss ?_

I'm new to this shit. Which console would be best to focus on first, what software do I need, and where do I get games? And how do I do all of this without getting malware on my PC?

That's why I hate Nintendo. I can live without first party NES, SNES, N64, and handheld Nintendo games, but I never played any of the GameCube games, and I really want to play them.

>5.0
gross

It ain't that hard to search for a game to torrent. Hell qBittorent has a built-in search feature

What do you even want to play?

>And how do I do all of this without getting malware on my PC?
None of the emulator's own sites have malware. If you somehow get malware on your computer you're a goddamned retard

What fourth gen games should I emulate?

you guys recommend new super mario bros. wii? I honestly don't know what to play until friday and I haven't played that yet

Someone stream Luigis mansion for me as I fall asleep in my bed cozy

Can you run galaxy on dolphin?

You have to be some kind of idiot to get a virus

I mean Dolphin is a Gamecube and Wii emulator, so yeah

I'm really busy with school, and Odyssey is coming out Friday. Should I even bother emulating Breath of Fire IV? It looks super neat, and I don't wanna wait a few months, but time isn't on my side, it looks.

>tfw media law paper due on sunday by midnight
>haven't even chosen a subject

Any user here know about a Cemu build (or multiple ones) which most games run on at full speed?
Friend of mine told me he got SR to run on Citra with full game speed due to using a completely random chink build which wasn't even recent, so now I'm hoping there's something similar for Cemu.
I'm currently using 1.9.1 and get massive slowdowns once I'm out in the open in BOTW.

No, BoF IV is not a game you want to start and immediately put off. It's an amazing game, though.

>1080p TTYD + HD textures using a Wii U pro controller

persona 5 is fun

...

playing through metroid prime. how would you go about emulating the wii version? i have a wiimote/nunchuck but never bothered since i hate it. i've only emulated GC/GC-controller enabled games but heard the collections controls aren't shit.

>HD textures
How did I never hear about this

holy shit

How would you properly play galaxy? Don't you need motion controls and such to do some of the game play mechanics? I stay away from emulating wii games cause I feel I can't play them properly.

You can bind waggle to other control options. One of my buddies beat Skyward Sword with a GC controller

Is Desume with upscaling graphics with an i5 6600k at 4.5ghz runs well?

???

Probably not a good idea to start a series with the one that has the least stable emulation but it works enough so far that it isn't getting in the way of my fun

I can see why people like these games, they're very stylish

They really do make TTYD look like it could have came out today it's great

just play P3 or P4 or if your a hipster P1/P2.

how does NNK run?

Delete this

>Try to emulate TTYD
>Any paper effects bring the game to a crawl
>Certain effects, such as the giant fuzzy ball are just invisible
>Fixes say to download the latest version and use OpenGL to fix it
>Download the latest version and use OpenGL
>Nothing is fixed

>try switching from VBA to mGBA
>Mario Kart Super Circuit runs way too fast the first time I played it but seems to be fine now
>try to play Megaman and Bass on it, get pic related or it just crashes with no error at all
>it works fine on VBA-M but games don't look as good in VBA-M

help

Very well

when did you try? some games that ran like ass for me a year ago (fzero/prime) run smooth as shit after updating to the newest dolphin. they did work.

This was just a month or two ago.

>Shit guys we can't do anything legally to take down this emulator what do we do
>Lets just bully the site that provides their income into panicking and shutting their account down

They only have themselves to blame for putting their shiny new game on a system that's been outdated since the beginning of the decade

Retard strength best strength

Mario Sunshine has wonkier controls than I remembered but it's pretty fun at 60fps.

Are you playing on a toaster or something?

How would specs matter? The game is a solid 60 FPS otherwise.

yeah i've been replaying it after 64 waiting for odyssey to drop and it feels odd. hope odyssey controls as well as 64

Just downloaded Dolphin and PM:TTYD, but for some reason I can't play the game. The error I get is "failed to compile vertex shader", and I think the newest version of Dolphin I downloaded from the official site is missing some files.

>and I think the newest version of Dolphin I downloaded from the official site is missing some files.
Doubtful, everything you need is in the download. Are all your drivers up to date? Are you using the shittiest of shitty GPUs?

Is this good enough?
>Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
>Installed Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.87 usable)
>64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
I'm a laptard, so that could be the reason why Dolphin isn't working well.

>How would specs matter?

oh gee i dont know because its a pc and these things matter

>dolphin runs flawlessly performance-wise
>certain elements fail to show up though

That has nothing to do with system specs.

One bump before I go to bed. Hope you all have fun emulating some good vidya

holy shit, what a coincidence. I'm playing paper mario too, but in Japanese to practice my nihongo

Reminder that you can now emulate the PS2 Ace Combat games fine for the most part, just watch out for 4's dodgy sun and horizon in some levels

Can someone help me? Whenever i go fullscreen in dolphin it laggs

based on your vague information I can deduce that your PC is shite. in the options turn down the fullscreen resolution and other graphical settings

I really miss when water was crystal clear in games.
I get why they added the more realistic cloudy effect, but there's something lost in this aesthetic. I was a little dissapointed when I found out the DS remake added a blue filter.

Are games blurred on VBA-m?
If so try looking at the video/renderer

Also, does anyone know any good romhacks for Mario 64? I'm breezing through this a bit faster than I thought I would.

do you like vaporwave aesthetic?

How well does this play without the Cube triggers?

I'm bored and I need a new obscure game to play. Played Gladiator RtFR a few days ago and it gets very repetitive.

Kinda.

I haven't emulated in ages, but damn do I want to play TTYD again.
Where do I find gamecube roms after the great purge?

/emu/ on vg has a wiki with downloads for most of the popular games.

>Emuparadise is the only place to find roms and isos

Loveroms and Nicoblog both work fine

I just started playing Metroid Prime and I've been really enjoying it.
But I'm not a huge fan of having to press a button to look around

It takes some time but you'll get used to it

can you play it with just a normal controller or do you need the wigglestick?

>Want to play Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite with girlfriend
>Literally everything we've tried causes us to disconnect as soon as we start a mission

Are we doing something wrong? We've tried damn near everything.

>Playing MH with your girlfriend
>Emulating it no less

She better be a bigger loser than you

>GC games finally playable on Wii U gamepad
FUCK YES

I wanna play Radiant Historia on the DS. Can I emulate it reliably on a phone? Or should I grab DeSmuME instead?

When does mario TYD get interesting? Im trying to find the boo bitches necklace and im struggling to stay entertained. It just feels like endless fetch quests. "go fetch the next star" "but first find boo girl" "but first find her necklace" oh my god... reminds me of paper mario on the n64. "go find the hidden desert town" "but first find all the parakoopas lost letters" "now find the theives hideout" "now find the secret fruit that starts with an L" "now find the ancient temple" GOOD GOD im getting bored just thinking about it. That being said I loved that game as a kid... maybe im just getting old and I have ADHD now. fuck my life

PSP monster hunters are pretty buggy to emulate multiplayer, the way it synchs up just cant be handled too well

there should be guides on how to do it but you both need to set a 'slow' button that slows the emulation and the loading screen down to lie 25% while you load into the quest.

I had to do this for both FU and P3RD when I played with my friends but we got it to work

In the case you've tried that and it hasn't worked, you're boned.

>Complaining about emulating something in an emulation thread
Wondering if someone else is a loser is the least of your problems, amigo.

Been converting some PS1 games to eboot for my VITA for use with Adrenaline. I finally figured out how to get audio playing when browsing for the game on the PSPs OS with at3tool. Thank you Fate/Extra devs for being stupid enough to leave a confidential SONY tool inside your image.

On the plus side, having the second stick and being able to completely rebind the controls for PS1 games is an amazing thing.

Yeah, that was basically one of the last things we tried. Guess we just gotta find something else to play together.

Thanks anyway, user.

64 is the better game and TTYD relies WAY too much on backtracking

You're in quite literally the worst act of the entire game. Trust me after that one it's high flying

yep, that's about the best you can do then, if you only tested it once or twice I'd say give it one more go, just be sure you're both slowing and unslowing at the same time, it can be finicky.

Otherwise, best of luck on finding other stuff to play.

Super Mario Star Road is a challenging option. Don't try to run it in Project64 2+, though - it crashes when you try to get one of the stars. 1.6 can handle it.

I really gotta get around to trying some SM64 ROMhacks one of these days
