yes i know Stalker isnt technically post-apocalyptic because the zone does not cover the whole world but the place feels alien, deserted and depressing. It definitely feels like that type of game plus the atmosphere and world building cannot be matched by any other game imo
There is literally no better "post-apocalyptic feel" game than STALKER trilogy. Nothing gets close to it.

While the games play and look great for the most part, hey're not really well optimized so i wouldnt reccomend playing them on a low-end laptop
if it's decent enough may on low settings but i doubt it.
they're definitely worth playing if you ever get a decent computer though

SoC came out in 2007, didn't even have 4gb at the time and it was a nonissue
I'm currently using technology from 2007, an AMD 6450, an intel i3, 8gb of ram, and run the games perfectly also, but he is using a laptop so.

The game is literally 10 years old, and the engine even older.
I first played SoC on a 2Ghz 1-core Windows XP machine, with 1.5GB RAM and Geforce 6600GT 128mb, and enjoyed smooth 30+fps with med-high settings, DX9 mode, 1024x768 res.
Any PC like entity made in 2010s should have no problem running AT LEAST 720p + DX9 full dynamic lighting. My i5 2500 + 8GB + 560ti has no problem getting 60fps at 1080p + high settings in vanillas and with lightweight graphical mods.

The games literally CANNOT use that much. You can only MOD them to use whooping 3GB RAM, maximum.
My 2012 laptop with i3 @ 2.1ghz, 6GB RAM and intel HD Graphics 3000 runs the game at 768p, high settings, Starter Pack's graphical mods, and DX8 lighting at around 80fps average.
People seriously underestimate modern laptops and these games' requirements.
