IT wasn't that they fucked it up. They had said that every Jedi quest would be individual, that no 2 Jedi got unlocked in the same way. But turns out it was only one way and once it got out everyone did it. I also seem to remember that it would be like 1 out of 1000 generated characters would even have the Jedi ability enabled, yeah that was bullshit.

Wasn't the original system based on some random required skills one had to learn. Then they added those holocrons which showed what shit you needed to learn but it was still different for everyone. Eventually they got rid of that and added the jedi village.

I actually happened to play on Basilisk just last night. SWGemu had developed quite nicely since I last played there. Sure the old is long gone but Basilisk still has around 1k players online and it's probably one of the best MMOs you can still play.

It was not even good, the social interaction with star wars nerds made it good.
Although it was nice how I saw a lightsaber duel once and was hyped as fuck because it was a very rare sight because people actually had a very good reason to hide their force abilities which made sense lore wise as well.

I think one clear message you can take from SWG is that devs really didn't want to have Jedi playable in the first place, but were pressured into doing so. Fact they could never really settle on a method of unlocking them, their relative power level, etc only proves that.

Is SWTOR worth a playthrough? I heard it's pretty much a "singleplayer" mmo as in you do the story of the classes and then you're done with it.
