That was my first thought- that he'd easily get past the iffy graphics by immediately spotting the Another World inspiration, attempt (and fail) to stay pacifist in the face of increasingly violent aliens while giving surprisingly rational reasons for shooting them in the face, talk at length about upgrading stats with Deus Ex callbacks and a tidbit about how in earlier versions of the game apparently the stations were separate but he's playing the newest version so he can't speak for that, and include the soundtrack in one of his end-of-video awards for sure. On the other hand, Hero Core would be neat as hell, not like he hasn't covered even more simple games.

Speaking of the very, very niche category called "games featuring music credited to (or covering) Machinae Supremacy," has anyone ever suggested Jets'n'Guns to him? After rewatching Ross's old Tyrian GD and him drooling over the ridiculous number of weapons, ship upgrades, and lack of a one-hit-death system, that also seems like something he'd really enjoy, albeit as a side scroller instead of a vertical shooter.
